there will be a big drop in the number of irish dogs coming over
the paperwork now is immense, not just for the trainers , the transporters as well its fiddly and takes three weeks to process its far easier to wait for shelbourne |

naa.... the army is getting assembled as we speak.
iv had 4 mckenna dogs already bet iv had 4-5 similar from buckley nidge but not braedon from gleeson 2 from reilly been bet almost always at the same time. cronin been disappointing guilfoyle's had 1 bet holland has come out and said he's coming this year? could have a team maybe 8. 2 have been nibbled blakes been heavily bet but spikes on the graph, someone may know something. not a bad start! id love it if none came this year, but just cant see that. Reckon we'l have record number coming for the crac. ![]() |
|
By:
that's 21 lanza ... there were 33 last year
200 euros for the rabies jabs and vets cert |
|
By:
think there'l be similar number maybe just a few more this year Irish. il go for 40.
|
|
By:
played 1 in this now, been accommodated by lanza and billies at what i think is a massive price, have known for a long time the dogs aim was Wimbledon, he looks over whatever was hurting him after the competition last year when he came back for our Derby, he runs Wimbledon brilliantly and should be half the price he is
|
|
By:
Fiery Splendour. Of course he runs Wimbledon well. He did the clock ffs!
|
|
By:
ermmm i said he runs Wimbledon brilliantly

Still not forgiven PF saying Droopys Braedon was a 27.71 aeroplane. Dont listen to a word he says!
![]() |
|
By:
or do you own work and not be a sheep
![]() no lanza, just the money @ 150 you layed me and 80s with billies |
|
By:
80's with 365 too if you want some more
|
|
By:
more chance of me pulling Nicola McGeady than getting that 80s with 365
|

By:
Obviously, Chopper got more charisma

pf also had me woody. Took all me prices down while i tried to find that 27.71 wooshhh. lol. BUt then thought he might have been pulling our legs lol when there was no love on here, or with the books.
Was nothing on data / igb / talking dogs / google haha. lol... well done pf! lol. pf...you should have left a few more quid up and id have had a few nibbles as and when i could. Been quite slow this year in this market, not had as much bet as compared to the last few years. Taken a few pound at 80 also. still a nightmare trying to get the dogs added. Asked for a few from the puppy comps but no joy. Fiery to me...and i do alot on stats and age is one criteria i look at ...i feel will be just too old. I wasnt surprised he won he last comp when he made the final, slightly surprised by the time but it was a poor looking comp. I think he's been a good dog, runs the track (don) well but as time catches up with him over the next few months as we approach the derby his ratings will start to drop slightly and he'l be eliminated after a few rounds. Id rather be on braedon's 27.71 lol. ![]() |

With regards pups a lot of nice pups breaking through on the scene this year. With approx 8 week gap between the conclusion of Con Kirby Memorial and the start of the Derby. Maybe worth taking a closer look at some of the pups as Derby contenders.
I remember watching Crokers Champ in the 1st round i totally dismissed him as a player as he had no time for a trial after competing in the 2014 Con Kirby Memorial final a week earlier. He seriously impressed me the way he ran the bends and handled the track. For me the long run to the pickup caught up on him in the end by the final. Maybe the 8 week gap could be a telling factor this year? |
|
By:
already sent several emails asking for a few pups from the tralee comp / trialling at monmore but didnt even get a reply. lol. Asked again for a few of the irish ones and they said, if and when they start running in the uk, they'l think about adding them.
Was really hoping boylesport hero was the one who was gonna come from that comp, still cant believe he didnt come over. Crokers was a lucky bonus for me. Anyone got any info on crokers? been cut by a few books today? |
|
By:
what lanza is trying to say is those running the exchange and supposed to be adding dogs are useless ****wits

Crokers Champ wasn't official a pup, but I think you get my drift. The powers that be on here should sit up and listen and not have your request constantly falling on deaf ears, especially as a few are quoted on the main firms antepost listings.
Last I heard on Crokers Champ is he would be rested over the winter to get over a injury. With the Derby his next target. |
|
By:
Would have been happy with Crokers winning last year. Chance to be Derby champ gone now, imo
|
|
By:
waste of time kerrching.
Having to ask (more like beg) several times for dogs to be added these days. Have found me having to give a reason / price they are in the high street along with it. And if they have no english runs / pups ....its almost impossibe to get them added. will be an interesting market next yr! ![]() |
|
By:
Is there only you keeping the interest up, Lanza? When you go, probably no betting until April!
|
|
By:
yes...crokers would have been nice woody! was fairly young last yr tho, just over 2. About 6 months younger than fiery for example. Sats wise those 6 extra month's are massive once the dogs are over 3...3+1/2.
|
|
By:
It's in their own interest to have as many dogs quoted as possible, the more dogs quoted, the more dogs bet, the more commission they take, simple
I know greyhound racing is not even a drop in the ocean for betfair but it's just pure laziness and a pretty stupid way of operating if you ask me. |
|
By:
i think there's one or 2 other layers woody. THere's someone putting up 20 quids at like 50..60..70/1 which is great
then there's the 2 quid guy that tops us. then there's the invisible 1.99 guy who just sits in front of everything you put up. The amount of 1p bets i get is quite frustrating. lol. I dont think its a bot as it doesnt happen straight away. Seems like every few days someone checks back in and adjusts their 1.99's back to the front.I think the 1.99 guy maybe one of the previous layers. Sometimes he goes away if i go away and leave the earlier price there. When i stick a price back up, the 1.99 guy / bot comes back eventually. lol. I think these will stay, take up the slack so no change there. But they wont have any runners to take bets on. Iv sent loads of emails for dog requests woody. Id say out of the 144 probably over the 100 mark, probably alot more than that. Off the top of me head, only skidroe again, i dont think iv asked for in various emails. |
|
By:
You would have thought that pf.... Il go check my emails now! brb.

Hi xxxxx
Thanks for getting in touch. I have tried contacting you by phone to inform you of your request for a runner in the Greyhound Derby. Unfortunately they will not be adding this runner currently, however they will keeping in touch with the dog in questions form and feel if necessary they will add this runner to the market. The market operations team have made this decision so that the market is not "bloated" with too many runners at this early stage. I hope this helps with your query. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. Or maybe our FAQs will come in handy? We love to tweet too; find us @BetfairHelpdesk. Thanks, |

By:
1.bubby zeus 28.92
2.laughing gravy 28.74 3.lenson sanchez 28.66 4.jaytee china 28.49 droopys ward 28.58 droopys jarrow 28.61 5. Forest sara 28.66 el pedro 28.96 6. Jaytee Valencia 29.29 poor from zeus... what happened this time? nice somewhat of a comeback by lenson sanchez if he's been on the easy list for a little. interesting from china, thought she'd have entered the comp last year but was entered in some bitch's comp if i remember corectly. |
|
By:
So china runs 28.49 in a 3 dog trial & is available to back @ 100s on here. Ballymac Brogan wins a race last night in 28.54 @ is available on here @ 60s. Zeus runs a 28.92 solo & has been backed since on here @ 46's + think £2 matched at 36's too?
Very odd in my opinion! |
|
By:
the average price of SP the last six derby winners on the night of the final was 10-1 (probably 20's plus on here)
how can anything be value currently ? |
|
By:
My team's looking great. Seems Laughil Blake could be doubtful and nobody knows if Droopys Braedon has ever seen a dog track?!

yes backatrier...sounds about right. Think the zeus price on last few don trials is crazy short now but people are still betting him. I really cant take much more. The others seem abit more realistic / fair / value...irish.
Irish...interesting why you only went back 6 races? salad dodger was about 18.00 (last bet i took just before off) sidaz jack was about 8.0snapper was about 10.00sky 3.00 tipoki 7.00 on daq (i left it up and forgot about it, then realised after the event hoping hadnt got matched! ![]() )arg...kinda ready sp 25/1 (thats why irish went back 6).... but im sure i laid sub 20's in the final and bet it back at 22's. ------------------------------------------------------ honcho 4.0 lord was about 10.00 (saw fortune teller that night, dont worry about the lord in 6 haha) hawk (4/7)...... no idea on exchange hawk (5/4)...... no idea on exchange (only started up then) droopys scholes 7/2...no idea....''... farloe verdict 12/1...no idea....''... woody... someone took some 12.00 just now before someone's turned up with the ton at 13.00. Have had a few quid up waiting to bet blake for awhile but its not been taken yet.... fingers crossed he comes over. Think i noticed braedon might run in the next irish comp, gotta hope that 28.38 +(2)28.50's limerick form holds up at shelbourne and then he comes over with nidge?? ........pf ![]() Irish... looking at my potential irish derby entries, i think it might top 40. mckenna 6 gleeson 2 buckley 7 pj fahy 3 holland 5 bray 2 hennessy 5 cronin 3 a few other dogs of other trainers also been bet so hopeful there might be around 40. |
