Just know a good dog when i see one, PF

Pretty sure Hoodwinked success wasn't a fluke, but suppose we'll see. Derby market very fickle. Only takes a previously unconsidered dog to do a good trial close to the time and prices crumble
By:
who said it was a fluke? there has been thousands of dogs that have done flashy clocks that have not gone on to be super dogs
as for prices crumbling unless you are planning on trading what odds does it make to you if something you've bet crumbles in price? |
By:
obviously bar the willy waving saying you've 50s a dog that's now 10s
By:
Blimey, you really have got a bee in your bonnet. Is it because your good things Stevie, Maverik and Blake all lost last night?
By:
Woody i wasn't even there last night (as i ain't been well), was meant to be in Limerick as we had runners
And i wouldn't be getting smart about me putting up losers (i said they where all too big, i stand by that and they all went off considerably shorter), i saw your car crash of a Newcastle thread |
By:
Yeah, Heaslip lame and George ran out of steam. Lost peanuts. Anyway, hope you're feeling better soon

By:
yes mate blitz is getting nibbled.

Any news on this in the rumour mill ?
"A SERIES of ‘win and you’re in’ events will precede next year’s William Hill Derby.“We’re planning a series of eight valuable build-ups, worth £2,500 to each winner in their own right, which will also carry free entry into our big one,” said Hills' Kate Miller." |

Bit young for Derby, Fatty?
By:
Starting to think this is going to be another very poor derby. HUge numbers but poor quality. Feeling slightly disappointed already.
![]() |
By:
Cheer up Lanza. I remember PF saying that about last year's Irish Derby but it ended up being a cracker. Not sure why you think poor, if the expected top Irish dogs come over. Agree there will be a lot of dead-wood but i dont mind that. Gives the good dogs a better chance?
By:
last year Irish Derby hardly ended up being a cracker, 1 dog was on a different planet to the rest of them, a third of the finalists had pensions ffs
By:
Many a good tune played on an old fiddle. That's what i keep telling the young chicks, anyway!
![]() |
By:
Is that when you have them gaged tied up in your back room !!!
By:
No, after ive bought them half a lager!

just looking at the field and thinking, it looks poor.
blake might not come / possible injury concern rafa wee jet... dont feel its showing he's a 30's chance, hammered in the betting last week bearatipp... no info, trail gone quiet for now nidge, disappointed with last run, doesnt seem don 480 dog to me? has been bet tho. yolo.. dissapointing in juve sanchez - injury concern, no love for awhile. blitz - only 3rd in the cork final blaze - big winner last year, hope he goes ok, charlie / holland tho? belles direction, after having his willy chopped off, not been seen since. lol crokers - not been seen for months hoffman, master of the trial, length behind yolo recently. brogan, won the fa cup, went out first round of the carling cup next run. fred - jury still out, will he come over? zeus, injury concern, poor trials so far. keith likes the don, poor last run elsewhere ted, under the radar, not been seen for bit nipper, snappers lad (makes me shiver) some of the puppies from the monmore comp - few flashy times but jury still out. vega went woosh last week. clares wonder -injury concern???? braedon - hope he comes with nidge Not much to get excited about. NOT sure the irish challenge is going to be as good as i first thought. Still expect a large number to come over but doesnt remind me of the quality like jet / vic / tsr one year. |
By:
time to push them all out i would have thought
![]() |
By:
no need, thinking of pulling out. 12k away from super pc levels which id hope id win from last few world cup games and maybe 30 ipl games of the 70.
Why bother when, if im lucky enough to win on the derby book i get hit with 60% tax on bets struck a year ago. Even worse is my rugby world cup book,60% charged on some bets placed over 3 yrs ago. you never got back to me pf about team member number 2 you were looking to add? ![]() |
By:
The Tyrur team will probably come over with strength in depth and looks like there all going to be fresh dogs going into the Derby.
Judging by the lack of Tyrur dogs on the cards in Ireland since the turn of the year! |
By:
Tyrur's ain't been running at SPK for a different reason, nowt to do with keeping them fresh, could well work out well though in the long run
By:
bloody heck i hope that was a bot and not some psychopath that backed Rafas Wee Jet down to 11.5
![]() |
By:
dont think it was a bot pf. Someone couldnt get enough on him. i just happened to be watching as all the 100 went down to me 40's and someone left a chunk up at 40, i quickly moved some funds about, cancelled a few aussie bets and took a bite of the 40. As i did, the chunk moved to 20's so i laid some more and put up some15's down to 11.5 which got nibbled.
it was like shooting at an asteroid, nothing would stop it. Was very similar to a few gambles in the past of various owned dogs in the money just kept coming and coming. The dogs had a few trials / runs since but nothing to support (to me) the way he was hammered into 11.50. |
By:
Dont forget Fatty, a young chick to me is 38!
By:
oi lanza get up ya lazy bollox, the match starts in 7 1/2 hours
![]() any Irish dogs being bet the last few days?? ![]() ![]() |
By:
lol... pf. Been a long few weeks with these overnight cricket markets. Glad the ipl is at a more reasonable time next month.
the sidaz backer is in the house, betting jack, teejay and blaze over the last few days. Not heavily but consistent and often at the same time. no massive plunges on the irish runners, farloe blitz been bet fairly well. taken a few quid on crokers, fiery again, blake been laid, farloe rumble been nibbled with vimmerby, bolt and most recently belles direction again. ??? haha. |
By:
nibble nibble
![]() knockouts been a major disappointment so far in the World Cup, been a bit boring tbh - hopefully tonight will be a cracker if the Windies show up, as long as New Zealand win though!!! |
By:
its a strange derby market, loads of nibbles but no big bites and no one virtually asking for odds or leaving their bets up unless their fairly daft requests.
yeah cricket been poor so far, enjoyed todays game tho, thought the wihab spell was a great/aggressive one and with a full bowling attack (ajmal hafeez junaid ifran gul amir/asif ) or even players that could catch, pak would have been a much more major threat. have you added runner 2 to the team then? ![]() |
By:
80/1 Fiery Splendour with 365, anyone? Salad Dodger 250/1 to successfully defend his title. Hardly a Westmead Hawk!
![]() |
By:
Could fancy more of the Irish dogs but not convinced they will all come over and might be some money down the drain like past years. Seen 94/1 You Never Listen (how about 150/1?) and wonder if Lanza would give me 250/1 Image Shuttle, too? Seen 180/1

Trainer Johnny Kavanagh has already intimated that his reigning Laurels champion Vimmerby will defend his Laurels title prior to taking his place in the Wimbledon event.
who has been laying all those big prices?? |
By:
Noticed some mopping up been done. Dogs i was keeping an eye on 300 Lenson Tiggy, 280 Ibiza Rocks, 350 Paradise Silva all very much shorter now

![]() im glad u bet tommy, nice to now he's still on the radar, still fairly nice green but taken my 110 away now. borneo already on the downslope, 4,4,4,5,5,6 in last 6 runs on data. put some 250 up for you. Norris... I dislike this dog, cost me 4k in a treble last aug, 200 was probably big, ok/good age, but in a large field, put 20 up at average 170. fiery...put a 10r up at 150.... too old vimmerby...400 was big, full up now, stuck up token 250. bolt...stuck up token 250 again. cheers lads. |
