Very happy with Ballymac Vic and Coolykereen Imp but still lots in with chances. The 2 quickest heat winners, Vic and Killbarry Rover, drawn alongside each other in the quarter finals but even if Rover leads, Vic can turn in his slipstream and may gain the upper hand. Just dont want them to arrive at the bend together. Cuil Cougar shook off a nudge on the run-up to bound clear last night. Hope he doesnt cut in dramatically and spoil the party at the turn.

It's fingers crossed Razl George, Bugatti and Imp, too!

Some surprise eliminations, mainly Sparta Maestro (couldnt get round Airforce Diva)and Droopys Cain (battle of heads for qualification). Also gone Tynwald Bolt, Barefoot Allstar, Tibetan Skies, Cabra Millie and Razldazl Rioga. Hopefully, we will be seeing some of them Derby final night?

I'm down to Newlawn Tock and, after seeing him turn left out of the traps last night, I am not exactly hopeful with him getting 5.

Thought Kilbarry was very impressive and George looks back to near his best.

TOCK had some dreadful draws still running out its skin, think being 5 will be to big gap to bridge,
again SUGAR RAY running well too got a great draw for his efforts his derby chances ain't looking so shabby !
CAMAS so fast would love to know what sort of time he post if not running 580yds each week!
think the 9 day rest helped big time with a few VIC trapped so well 4 great races to come wonder how they price it!

korals have priced it, 2/1 looks too short surely. he is definately the dog to beat but the price seems a bit skinny

laddies are 7/4, although that's a value price, by their standards.

When: 19 Aug 12 12:58
7/4 and even 2/1 is a joke. With normal qualification, that makes him about a 5/4 shot for the semis and 8/13 for the final. This Derby is still very competitive and although i'd be very happy with Vic champion, current odds are a sign of bookmakers' fear

He was odds against in ever round bar the 1st round and final (EVS) so i'd imagine he was bigger than Vic is although i can't remember.

Think you may have got 100/1 Lanza coz the layer probably thought Camas had been eliminated? Like Stan James, theyre still betting on Sparta Maestro! Laugh.

Anyway, normality resumed. Power and 365 go 3/1 Vic, i should think so too!

The best bet left in the derby is the 25/1 with LADS on Suger ray I had a good bet e/w with the sponcers this morning..i thought he ran a great race to quilify..agree with you about Cashmans PF but there 50/1 about Broadstrand Lad is very tempting ..IF correct...Tongue Out

They wont stand a 2 bob bet these days, since the old man stood back, so I wouldnt even bother trying to get that 50/1!

First two heats look straight forward enough for Droopys Jet & Confident Rankin. Heats 3 & 4 could be carnage tho. Every chance Ballymac & Puma could both get turned over!
