Been up against some top dogs though PF. This Plate should be easier. Besides, i've had a vision i'll be on the terraces Sept 8th shouting: "Come on God!"

There is was too many possible problems for him in this comp.
He has never won from further out than 2. In the comp there are 29 railers out of 36 entries, 1 middle and 6 wides. Of the 6 wides the shortest priced is 33/1 and you could not really fancy many of them in my opinion. Therefore he will need luck in the draw and for that reason i think 5/1 is shocking. I like the dog a lot and would like to see him win it but i think backing him at the price is lunacy (even if you had a vision ) |

Did you happen to see the last race at Shelbourne on Sat night PF? 1 and 6 went around together but ended up taking each other out. Were they having a little nibble? It difficult to make out on the replay
|
|
By:
Yeah i saw it, was hard to make out what happened. The one was on the inside of the 6 into the 2nd but there was awful trouble. It was the top that caused it i thought, not sure if he had a go just entering the 2nd or not as couldn't really make out live or by the vid.

By:
Nice one! I cant really make it out either. My buddy was above Saturday night and got a whisper for the 6. Gutted wasnt the word when he came a cropper!

All systems go. Just ordered my admission ticket, 20euro this year and just got to print off boarding passes.
Team looking slightly shaky: Ballymac Vic Coolykereen Imp Razldazl George Tynwald Bolt Droopys Cain Only real profit top 2, after big hitters Mildean Panther, Piercestown Sand, Bubbly Phoenix and Judicial Ruling never made it |
|
By:
woody, I think you were on too early for some of your selections, Tynwald looks the fastest dog in the comp. but what an enigma he is. I wasn't going to bet this year, but i'm going over tomorrow to buy a dog, so, will take in the 3rd rnd. ended up betting Cabra and Skywalker to win, Jet and Maestro to save. I have bet Cabra for her heat although a mistake will be severely punished. really looking forward to tomorrow night, all the heats are really very tough, one mistake by a fav and it's curtains, the competition is so strong. cheers.

Thanks for that Bairn. Yeah, going in too early always been my downfall. Cant resist some of these 33/1, 50/1 and 66/1 pokes though. With antepost rules as they are, nearly always back-fires though. If my non-entries had taken part, sure i would have been in a very healthy position though. As it stands, got 10/1 Ballymac Vic, 35/1 Razldazl George, 66/1 Tynwald Bolt, but not sure if you can still get prices like that or even bigger, like 14/1 Droopys Cain.
Yeah, very competitive tomorrow night and it's only the 3rd round! Good luck with your new dog! ![]() |

By:
thanks Woody. good luck to yourself too, most posters on the greyhound forum don't give too much away until they get on, can't blame them though. cheers.

Bugatti 10/1 huge price for a dog thats been useful in the past !
if jet moves Straight into puma than he could steel or just be **** like other rounds! 10s u ain't got play to big anyway! with camas went in far to early bug think he win!sawdust terry to big for race that could go wrong bug time on the inside just watch the like of vic bolt see how they go |
|
By:
took the 9/4 camas also. you would have thought as it was in future races and 4 day before the race it would be classes as an ap bet
|
|
By:
10/1 Bugatti is good Fatty. I threw a few quid at him 50/1 antepost last night. Needs to look sharp tonight though with fast away Wozniacki making straight for rails and huge respect given to Jet. Puma will try to cut them down late

I think i am backing a few too many but at the prices i couldn't leave them alone
![]() Heat 1 - Sawpit Sensation @ 6/1 + Melodys Lucky @ 8/1 (I can see trouble in the race and primarily between 2,3 and 4. Allstar edges off run up while Tynwald Bolt want the rails leaving Cuil Cougar needing to come away well [which he has not done the last 2 rounds] to avoid trouble on the run up. Due to this i can see Sawpit Sensation getting a decent run up, he may have to follow Stay Thirsty around but if doing so close i can see him picking him up. Melodys Lucky has a good draw on the fence and if the 2,3 and 4 do come together could get a lovely run up, he has to trap better than he did in the last round though.) Heat 2 - Dusseldorf @ SP + Clydal Spirit @ 6/1 (Thought Dusseldorf was huge when there was 6 runners and felt he had the best of the draw. All that has changed now unfortunately and Razldazl Apollo has a much better draw and of the 2 market leaders i'd probably rather take him than Dusseldorf now but them the breaks. Clydal Spirit ran a cracker last week and bar the trouble she got would have won a heat with Dragon Shield, Sugar Ray and Allen Master in it. She should get a run here and must have a massive chance as she should get a clear.) Heat 4 - Broadstrand Lad @ 7/2 (Has a great draw even if he ain't running great. 2 is paceless to the corner and Tyrur Domingo doesn't know how to turn the corner most nights. Subway Ruth, Razldazl George and Dragon Shield all will be moving rails run up and are not certain to get across and if they don't clear Domingo who can go up well he could take them out on the bend.) Heat 5 - Droopys Cain @ 3/1 + Sawdust Terry @ 20/1 (I think the draw could work in Droopys Cain favour tonight. Imp will move off from 1, Sugar Ray will dive rails from 3 so what does Tibetan Skies do?? If he traps surely Imp impedes him and if he misses it he runs the risk of Sugar Ray impeding him. Newlawn Tock in 4 will be moving inwards too and i think this could all play into the hands of Droopys Cain who will be behind run up and with trobule inside he may be able to secure a run around the opening bends and if anywhere close should win. Sawdust Terry is big on the draw alone, absolute dream draw. Heat 6 - Toms Brett @ 25/1 (It's all about the inside 2 but i'll take a chance and take them both on. Millie has been trapping better than Vic and will edge off slightly so could they possibly do each other?? Lahern Dancer in 3 has also being showing good pace up and if the inside 2 are not well away could he lead the inside? I thought both Laughil Billy and Toms Brett had decent draws and the price swings it for me. Toms Brett ran well last week in defeat and can come away a lot better so if there was any trouble inside i hope he can spring a shock.) Heat 7 - Slick Seattle @ 14/1 (Camas has the best of the draw and i had him JF with Rankin so surprised with the difference in prices between them 2. Loads of early on the inside and Rankin has to get it right especially with Rioga in there who looks big enough @ 5/1. I think Slick Seattle can get a good run here, 1,2 and 3 all want rails, nothing in 4 and Camas is as wide as they come. If he stays middle he could get a clear and with a clear he is dangerous. He has massive pace when he uses it and perhaps tonight could be the night to catch him.) Heat 8 - Crossfield Star @ 8/1 + Tyrur Wozniacki @ 14/1 (I think the top 2 are better drawn the other way around. That may make no difference if Jet hits the lids and is gone but last week he ran the first terrible [i thought looked hurt] and all but stopped at the 3rd bend. Puma moved off from 2 in round 1 and i think he will move off again here from 1. Bugatti is big @ 10/1 but has the big worry of Wozniacki on his outside. Wozniacki has been flying from traps and diving rails and if doing sp again it's hard to see what Bugatti does who has not been trapping. If Wozniacki can get to the rails and lead she is no 14/1 shot. Crossfield Star should have the outside to himself again and is in great form. He will again need a good start but if the inside 2 did come together or get bother he should be the one to pick up the pieces.) |

Take a couple of races off and dont think there was much to choose between Sparta Maestro and Droopys Cain, so 6/1 and 20/1 between them antepost now may not be totally accurate, in such a short space of time. Topped up Cain a touch anyway, but really fear Maestro at this juncture

I can't believe what happened in that last heat, fkin unreal luck. Droopys Jet was out, had absolutely no chance and the bottom would surely have won.

If he hits the lids every night it's his too lose. He's a brilliant greyhound. Quite a bit of early in his heat though with Kilbarry Rover and Cuil Cougar so he will have to do it right at the start again.
