Pleased with the improvement shown by Bolt and George. Maestro stole the show, although that was a weak race last night. Millie flying but cant see a bitch winning the Derby. Marathon crashed out, Imp needs to step up on last two efforts, but still quietly confident with Vic

Should have said something a bit better than useful about Maestro, maybe smart, but i've seen him struggle to go the pace in top class often. He was always capable of a flashy run but maybe he will keep doing it now. Did also say no surprise if he won the Derby.
Bolt another bad draw. He offset one with a fast start Saturday but from a qualifying point of view, fear the worst with nippy runners on his inside and Sawpit in there too. Could have done without Imp and Cain in same heat. Rioga could bounce back at a good price, knocked about early Saturday and did well to qualify after only turning third. Glad Vic avoided Jet and Bugatti, who clash in the final heat |

Rarely has Maestro shown himself to be anything other than top class. With so few wide seeds he is really going to have to run well below par not to keep qualifying now. Maybe lacks a little bit of top class pace in the first part down the back but then really motors.
What a super draw for Camas in heat 7. If Broadstrand is ever going to win at this level again then Saturday will be it. He is not quite the dog he was however. |

lads thanks for the replys last week.i have put more on vic though.puma impresses me no end and cabra mille will take some beating.sparta is a serious tool and the one i will be laying whilst thinking it will win.however i will stick my neck out now and say vic will win.

Heat 5 looks like it could be an absolute mess.
1. Coolykereen Imp moves middle 2. Tibetan Skies i think comes away better from 3 or 4 3. Tyrur Sugar Ray mad for rails 4. Newlawn Tock move inwards too i'd think |

Agree with Fattie, Camas look to be big @ 28/1. He seems to be constantly underestimated. He may not be the quickest in the competition but with only 7 (w)s left and his good draw in the next round it would be a big shock to me if he is not in the 1/4 final draw. As said before with his running style it's hard to see how he gets trouble in races as he's so wide so i can see him qualifing all the way to the final. I'm going to go in again on him and take some of the 28s.
Razldazl Luke is 80/1 now, i thought he ran decent enough Saturday night. Granted i thought he'd win going down the back but the clock was decent and he's one who is getting better. Still yet to win which is a worry but he stays on well and could keep progressing. |

Took some 28s myself.
Looks to have a great draw and with some fancied ones in potentially difficult heats, he could be a 14/1 shot after next weekend. Will finally get down there next Saturday. |

Typical, my 2 big hitters for the Irish Derby proper, dispute favouritism for the Plate: Power of God and Swift Marathon. Shade disappointed with the pair of them but given 5/1 God another chance and will top up nearer the time if he keeps getting through.
Although drawn in the same heat, thrown a few quid at 10/1 Rockchase Bullet, also. He looked the likely Derby winner last year and although struggled to reproduce his best form, given a chance to perform well |

5/1 Power Of God is a truely horrendous price in my opinion. He ran like a bloody drunk in the 1st round of the Derby and if he gets drawn 4 or 5 he would probably be a 5/1 shot for that race alone. I could not possibly even entertain backing him at anything less than double figures. He may get decent draws every night but even if he does i think he is desperate short.
