The only man who can stop him now is Ryan Vermeer.

Rahmbo birdie start. I'm a fan too jedi - not sure why he isn't more popular, but there you go - perhaps because he doesn't fawn over the history of the game etc?
Nope TB, the only thing that can do it is an OMINOUS |
By:
bugger- OMINOUS
By:
I won't be using it though as he is nicely onside
By:
63. Three missed putts 10 feet or less. Didn't birdie a par 5. Could've easily beat Grace's record on a brutal course. Incredible.
By:
Pretty ridiculous isn't it - let's see what the afternoon crew can do
By:
Just saw a pic of Daly in his cart - seems so wrong. Erik Compton - heart transplant survivor doesn't get one ffs

Big Tone eagle

By:
mcilroys putts don't even graze the hole anymore.

By:
thing is (and i'm really clutching at straws here) most of Koepka's major wins were relatively close affairs, at least until the final round. we've rarely seen him with a big lead early in the tournament. so not totally sure how he'll handle it. obviously he's mentally very strong.
and yes I am clutching at straws. |
By:
of course it's possible, that big jon, or big tony, or big paul will come and threaten his lead. or at least get to minus five.
By:
if Koepka wins this, what price will he be for the last two majors? 5-1? 4-1?? given his recent major winning percentage would then be frightening.

From the Guardian:
Brooks Koepka has just spoken and made things sound very ominous for the rest of the field. I’ll leave you with his words and hand you back to Scott. Thanks for reading. I think we might have a forum reader ![]() |
By:
Hope he's those prices LR... This is another course that's right up his street but Pebble and Portrush very different tests to this, and he's still not really shown himself to be the versatile player some others are.

Dare I say Jordan looks more confident than in quite some time
By:
Jordan nothing to lose, no-one expects anything, starting 7 back of Brooks, maybe he can just loosen off and play some golf without thinking himself into the ground like he seems to be doing.
By:
yes you are right tb, and I'm still hoping he doesn't win this one. for one thing not to have to hear from butch's smug son would be helpful.
![]() Jordan looking so much better over the ball than he was. he really does make sure he peaks for the majors. |
By:
this guy really is annoying. "give himself a chance on sunday"
is he having a laugh? at this rate they'll be no one else with a chance on sunday ![]() |
By:
I'm starting to feel like Brooks is pretty short. Brilliant round but I still have doubts about his ability to just run away with a tournament- realistically he should have spanked the guys he was up against last week but kind of ground to a halt and lost in Tiger's win was the fact he really should have won at Augusta given the sloppy mistakes on day 2 and missed putts on the final day. It's a very short price for day 1 of a major on such a brute of a course.
By:
there is a long way to go yet before brooks keeps his title
By:
ha, great par save Rahmbo
By:
I think as far as the fav price is concerned a lot depends on the others. rahm and Jordan capable of a low round. so is tommy Fleetwood and rickie fowler. if brooks gets to double figures or 12, 13 under in round two do they get despondent? or think this course is gettable, lets get after him?
By:
Daly driving round the course with a **** in hand and a McDonalds cup in the cupholder. Elite level professional sport.
By:
Turns out you can't say f@g.
By:
9 very solid holes before the trademark Jordan wild one. Worst possible time for it on that hole.
By:
Not in 2019 bosman haha
By:
think that's why the market had no faith in Jordan. you can always expect that now.
in the past he would have been 7 or 8-1 after that start but he was trading over 30s on here I think even at 2 under. |
By:
Dunno if it's psychological or bad course management but his misses these days always seem to head directly towards the worst possible trouble, like he's drawn to it.
By:
yeah I think it's mental with Jordan. somewhere he lost some confidence. then again his lack of length also costs him in these situations.
dj might also miss the fairway but he'd probably be further up, then he can chip out and have more chance of getting up and down with a wedge. |
By:
I could tell on that tenth tee that Spieth was going to pull his drive. it was the first time he looked nervous over the ball. I think he realized how important that tee shot was. to get off to a good start on the back nine.
lee in trouble on the 15th. |
By:
This is all a bit dull for me at the moment...
Think it's the comms. A few top guys look beaten already. Imo. |
By:
Euan Murray agrees with me about Brooks round.
At least someone does. Immense...... |
By:
Quite a fk up on par 5 even for Team Casey standards!
By:
Not sure anyone disagrees with that Jedi. And watching the rest struggle to keep it around par just emphasises it. But it certainly does kill the afternoon fun.
