reading thru them changes - am i reading it right?? but in a nutshell have they just took most of the slope out of the greens essentially making em a little tougher to read but alot easier when alls said and done.

i am a novice when it comes to the real technical side of what makes em harder/easier etc, so any of u who know a bit about this sort of thing help out?? thanks

probably best reading golfers comments on twitter about the greens

they used to be big greens but. the slopes meant some were in effect many small greens
clumped together

taking the slopes out will leave big greens

yes they do vegas.
the course seems fairly average to me in some respects, shame I would like to see some tougher scoring after low winning scores at the Open and US Open

pga courses tend to be the least tricked up as the uspga dont like to embarrass the pga club qualifers, which will be good news this week for westy, loooky, and poults, Laugh

well had my 1st bet - tbh think this is going to be my only play on betfair and i'm gunna play the top 6/10 markets for majority of this one.

paul casey @ 280 - huge price, think course could be in his favour and threatened a few times this season to be the player alot thought he could be.

also gone in with a bookie, only one offering str8 up top 6 betting - casey 25/1 which is too big imo.

Anyone else think that Graham Delaet is a nice price ?

I know that he pulled out last week, but I gather that was illness as opposed to an injury.

Hopefully he can get over that in time. I am on.

Finished my pre-tourney bets and fingers crossed there'll be no need to dive in again at halfway.

Ryan Moore + 1,104 - Playing consistently well at the moment, have a hunch he'll go well.
Phil  + 1,015 - Seems really bullish about this week.
Jordan Spieth + 1,064 - disappointed last week but Masters 2nd was on back of MC.
Henrik + 1,078 - May have disappointed some but it's six top 5's in last 11 starts!
Jimmy Walker +1,124 - 8th Masters, 9th US Open , 6th Players. Not overawed at all.
JB Holmes + 1,124 - Local to area ( as Kenny Perry was when going close here)
KJ Choi + 2,015 - Still throws in the odd good performance, massive price.
Ben Martin + 2,504 - Decent performance in Open - potential improver, massive odds.
Chris Kirk + 2,691-Still time to make up into a first tier player -big around 300 on here
Field - 175

Delaet ranks 1 in ball striking.. ( whatever that is)

4 in total driving.

3 in GIR.

Not so hot with the short one, but still a fine price IMO.

hard to see past rory tbh, keeps his form going and he wont be beat.

may play a few on the top 10 market , but its all about rory.

I'm gonna say something negative about Rory now so I'm prepared to get kicked in the teeth...

I think because he won yesterday, people are overreacting a bit. Yes, he's awesome and even if he didn't win, he'd still be very fancied.

BUT... I just wonder how different things would be if Sergio hadn't have blown it??? So many people would've won if they were on the same score as Sergio.

There's so many great golfers at massive prices and I'm having a hard time trying to get Rory out the equation.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll give in by Thursday and back him!Laugh

Bit harsh to say Sergio blew it.

McIlroy shot 66, 66 on the weekend.

At the moment Rory is in synch with his swing. If he drives it like he has been 3 or 4 under per day seems his par. He gives himself so many chances 3 par 5s will help him as well.

He is rightly favourite and would expect him to be in the mix but golf is a funny game plus there are the chances of bad luck, bad draw etc.

There are many great golfers indeed but not too many that can cope with the pressure of the back nine on sunday, Jack Nicklaus always said the majors are easyiest to win because most of the field dont believe they can win and history is littered with guys who falter on back nine on sunday because they are so out of their comfort zone. You can pick very good golfers with prices of 100 200 or 300 but they may as well be 1000 because they do not have it inside to get the job done wheras with Rory he has proven he can cope so a short priced proven winner is better than a big priced choker.

indeed puggy but the advent of betfair means a 200/1 shot trading at 2/1 after 63 holes can be better than a 6/1 winner

i really aren't dissing rory here because I think he played quality, and I agree most players especially in majors are scared to win but rory had his moments he wasn't the all singing hero yesterday and is capable of better AND   worse! twice yesterday he smacked it badly into the trees only to end up centre fairway, plus a couple more where he got very very lucky lines.
he is going to be in the record books for the next 30 years, but at this point it's still game on imo...

two ways of looking at vegas he wasn't at his best but still won with relative ease.

He did get lucky when he bounced back into the fairways. On the first he hit it left but was so far down he could hit a low hit and run on to the green.

taking nothing away from him mate, and the facts are, he plays a finish well, as said above a big percentage don't.

Rory now is as good as I want him!! lol it's torture I am a golf fan and love to watch in amazement at what they do, BUT especially when in trouble!!!, The thing I'd dreading is if rory evolves any further he'll kinda find a robotic action to that drive and pretty much not miss anything, if that happens his entertainment factors becomes fairway - green - putt - fairway - green - putt etc, his play will be amazing -awe inspiring - overwhelmingly superior, BORING GOLF!!!!

Some might look at me funny for this but I reckon any good golfer would say a non eventful round is a good round, maybe that's actually a saying I'm stealing!??

Totally agree insane value @ 190 on here - I've also had a little go with him @ 125/1 ew with bookies.

I've taken up a new staking strategy these last two weeks, my latest brainwave to maybe end up winning something!
Lowered my stakes a little, but copied all my bets pre start I make on here with the bookies.
This way when I completely and utterly destroy my win book on here, I've got my "plan A" selections with the books to maybe still sneak a return!!
GENIUS!!! LaughLaughLaugh

I'd never put u off leishman mate, what you say is true imo he's playing good golf, reason I'm not on is I'd end up backing everyone, and in his case, I see the price as fair but not value.

just had a punt on tiger!!

way I see it, if in the miracle world of sport he decided to play, his price goes from 50 t 30 - conservatively 40 , that's a nice little trade, make sure my stakes back before tee off, if he W/Ds money back.. cant see the downside?

Rory's odds too low........last week i got him @20 in running.

I will wait again in running for higher odds.

1 trade done so far, Mickleson........thanks to his Sunday 'charge'....his odds plummetedGrinGrin

The course looks 10 times better than the rubbish for the US Open. Seems there are loads of nasty traps to catch out the waywards shots.

A real roughie early... Kenny Perry lost here in a playoff in 96, went well at the Ryder Cup here in 2006 and won a seniors event the other week.

Tiger leaving it until tomorrow to say if he plays.Don't see his price changing if he plays Vegas.Should be amongst the 1000 pokes.
