European Tour player David Higgins derailed his chances of playing in The Open Championship when he discovered a 15th club in his bag while competing on the first sudden-death playoff hole of a local qualifier in Scotland on Tuesday.
Higgins, 40, an Irishman ranked 695th in the world and twice played in the Open, was in a three-man playoff for two spots at North Berwick when he discovered an extra club in his bag. Higgins apparently put the club back in his bag after the 36-hole qualifier was completed. |

like the look of Casey if he lines up might just be on way back great round sunday.

and what about David Lynn at massive odds, certainly a bet to lay type of wager, as he has done well in the States, especially on the difficult blustery courses

Not long to go now, can't wait. Disappointed my Simpson bet at 80s wasn't fully matched before round 1 of the Greenbrier
![]() Currently have on side Kuchar, Stricker, Watney, Haas, Simpson, Bubba, Stenson, Cab-Bello, Zach and Noren. A lot of that is free which is good. Kuchar still the value for mine, should be 10 points shorter. |

horschel weekly henly walker english via the fed ex cup points might be wrong ??? |
|
By:
Yes I think that Warren should be in.
Horschel would already have qualified, due to his world golf ranking, so I'm not sure if he's going to show up. Stricker has said that he won't be coming. I find it odd that these guys don't want to play in a major. Turning down a chance to write your name into the history books is pretty pathetic behaviour, IMO. 1 more slot from this week's Scottish up for grabs. I hope that Soren Kjeldsen gets the job done. |
|
By:
if horschel had already declined a previous spot , then howell will be in for a bito love in !
as you say its very strange behaviour to decline a chance to win the open there must be some reserve places i wonder if they go to world rankings or if they have a reserve list from qualifying |
|
By:
Horschel has time and maybe wants some links experience before he comes over and gives it a shake perhaps. Stricker on the other hand, is a strange one. Happy to play in the Deere Run this weekend no doubt, but to miss The Open, even in semi retirement, is a very odd decision by a man running out of time fast for his first major, and who is playing very good golf.

By:
David Lynn missed the US Open because he was tired.Last year Lawrie declined to play the same event say he was concentrating on RC qualification.Surely a good show in a major would help. It's mind boggling to me.You see hundreds of players trying to qualify and yet these players cannot be bothered.I think Hoch the choke was one of the first to do it.
|
|
By:
How do you know sticker and horschel declined to play in the open?
Very strange view to have and totally opposite from Mickelson who once said 'One needs to win The Open among other majors to be regarded as one of the greats'. |

Hello
Well, l got on Richard Sterne after I was lucky enough to back scotty @ the masters. He eventually got in yesterday being in the top 5 of the race to dubai after the french open (taking into account already qualified) l'm happy with his overall game for muirfield. He is a proven winner & in my eye stands above the likes of Oosthuizen, Els & Tim Clark from South Africa, now he appears to have got over his back issues. Though he's still a little behind Charl Schwartzel when firing on all cylinders. The birth of his daughter recently, may also offer the impetus to step up to the next level... |

A Helicopter Landing site, managed by Helimates (UK) Ltd, will be available at this year’s Open Championship. The Helipad is located a short walk away from the event, although transport can be provided upon request.

Genuinely shocked that Webb Simpson is double the price of Rickie Fowler.

Its pretty unoriginal but I just cant look past McDowell.
Supposed to suit a player who draws the ball, will be very dry and a true Links test, and that has his name all over it. I know he's a bit all or nothing lately, but of the 10 or so market leaders, he looks the stand out choice to me. |

Followed Shiv Kapur at Dunbar qualifying for first three holes! he started par, bogey, par and it was a miserable cold wet and windy afternoon as i left.
Was amazed he turned in a 64 to be one of three qualifiers from field of 72, pure class. Will have a small wager on him in all markets to show my respect,he's gone up in my estimation. ![]() |

Just added Olesen at 80/1 top 7 with PP. Left him out of my Scottish team has he has been woeful lately, but could be on the way back and Im convinced hes a major winner of the future.
