Have taken a lot out of Els at less than 8/1, bits and pieces out of others. Followed eric with Curtis, topped up Simpson and some more on Couch. Taken stake out of Tringale @ 12.5 and Stricker @ 7.4. Total risk now less than 65% of initial stakes. Could be very good, can't get burnt. Good luck.

Stricker you're a wonderful fella.....laid orders at 3 and 2.5 and buggered off to the pub....back home to find all matched and now backed for half at 5.8.....
looking to be a good weekend moneywise......so who do you lot think will win.........?? |
|
By:
Well still so far so good. Definately a case of 'stop the tournament now' for me, whereby, not being greedy I'd settle for a Dufner win at 33s and the place money on Duke & chalmers @ 175s & 80s.
Also still got Stroud lurking. I've learnt however through bitter experience over the yrs that you win stuff all for having people in the lead/top 5 after 2 or even 3 rounds so I'm not getting over confident yet but with the position of my team at the moment I'd be dissapointed if I didn't come out with a good profit this week somehow! Good luck for the weekend everyone. |

Is it just me or is Jason Dufner looking more and more like Boss Hogg each week ! It's uncanny when he does that thing with his tongue and pushes his bottom lip out lol.
Not backed Dufner this week - price was too short for me. So only consolation if he wins is that I would not have made a small fortune had I backed him. Besides I think once he does get over the finishing line he will be a multiple winner on tour - so still chances to claw back some of the money i've lost on him over the last 3 years ! It being moving day and with 40 players within 7 shots of the lead there is obviously some value out there. Dufner is a silly price now and I find it difficult to see why he is trading lower than proven winners like Sticker and Els. Of those still in with a shout - Pre tournament im on Chalmers, Duke and Rose - had a fiver on Duke @230 after seeing someones post on here. Course looked like it should suit Chalmers and proved to be the case yesterday, I hope he hangs in there today as he is not scared of winning (in Australia at least). Duke has been draining some long putts and im sure his confidence will be sky high. Im expecting a low round from Rose today - he was ticking over nicely until that shank on the par 3 14th which stopped his momentum. It will tough to get within 4 shots of the leaders, but if he can then I think he still stands a chance. I have backed Stuart Appleby at silly odds this morning. Only 6 strokes behind and a while since he has shown up on the leaderboard but still capable of some nice play when in the mood. Realistically though I think this probably lies between Stricker and Els, but the prices have gone and im not getting involved, so im still hoping for that upset. |

S.Stricker +£697.75
J.Rollins +£1,149.51 C.Stroud +£922.27 K.Blanks +£2,007.27 C.Knost +£19,339.67. The Field -£152.73. Took a wee chance on Rollins yesterday @ 34's before he tee'd off,and he certainly done the business last night. I wouldn't dismiss Dufner so lightly. He's been knocking on the door a few times,I wouldn't want to be laying him much bigger than he is now. All things being equal, the -7's and below have their work cut out to hang onto the leaders, but Colt just has to shoot Two rounds of -10,and that should do very nicely !! ![]() |

By:
Villegas @36 looks the only value left to be had....only 3 shots behind......compare to Fowler who's having a poor season available @23 and 4 shots behind....
Jason Dufner Steve Stricker Ernie Els Luke Donald Rickie Fowler Camilo Villegas Justin Rose Bubba Watson Webb Simpson Michael Bradley Chris Couch |

A poor day, but still not in any real trouble. Have Dufner a small loser, so moving bits of Stricker and Els over and waiting for tonight. Good luck.
|
|
By:
Ken Duke may be value to at least hang around the lead - not fashionable and no winner but can recall he finished 2nd to Nick Watney here a few years ago and it was close until last couple of holes.....won't frighten the layers but underestimated currently

Ski-Wiz, Looking at your comparison of Fowler and Villegas, I've just broken a rule. I already have Alex Cejka a good winner, but he has started well both days and I've had a bit more @ 810+. He's one in front of Webb Simpson and four times the price. Good luck.

Like a few people i'll be interested to see how Dufner goes this weekend. In the eight strokeplay tournaments in which he has played the full four rounds this season,he has only broke 70 once in the last round and that was in the first tournament he survived the cut in this season. So he's not broken 70 in his last seven final rounds this season.I think the guy is a more than decent player but you start to wonder if there is a bit of scar tissue starting to build up when it comes to finishing off tournaments.Saying all that if he had been around the 40/1 mark this week i would have been willing to take a punt on him pre tourney but i just couldn't get involved at the prices that were available.
Of the ones i bet in this tournament i've got Chalmers@66s and Rollins@100s still running for me so i'm happy with those. It's all set up for a good weekend as there's still plenty in with a chance in this. |

In total agreement with you TFI. If one of my guys can't win this then I would love to see Dufner win it, but I just don't think he will ! But regardless of his fate here I will be backing him again in the future as he is a hell of a talent.
Also agree with Ski-Wiz about Villegas. Only 3 shots back yet available at 33/1 or so. Proven winner in the past and capable of winning this - and looks to be a bit of value compared to some. I have added him along with a small bet on Bobby Gates. |
