If nearer GTS than Soft(GTSIP), then CC appears to have every chance .......the Hobbs one may be danger on GTS (Village Vic) as seems to be lightly raced......and might run well n a very competive race.
IF nearer SOFT than GTS....Pearl Swan appears to have a solid chance....though the other Nicholls horse...Caid Du Berlais ....might be worth a try at the odds.... With so many runners....anything can happen in such a race.....should be a cracker finish!!! Gl with selections and bets. G M the nooooooooooooooooooooo |

Good evening
There are a few obvious looking 'winners' tomorrow, but once again, I shall be ignoring them in favour of others that I like. My two main bets are running at Ascot and Wincanton. In the 3.15 at Ascot I'm going against The Bear Trap as I feel I have one that is over double the price with a very good chance. The horse is Queens Grove and 9/1 looks too big to me. In the 3.35 at Wincanton, I've given reasons in the past as to when I feel it is best to back Raya Star 5/1, and I think this one will go well tomorrow. Zarkandar is no lover of heavy ground imo, despite winning earlier on it. This more galloping track will suit Raya Star more and if 'form' is anything to go by, that run behind the ill-fated Darlan, puts him firmly in the mix tomorrow at a good price. I also like the look of Rocky Creek, Vino Griego and Far West at Ascot. River Maigue a big danger in that last race. Trustan Times should also go well at Haydock, although I think two and a half miles is more suitable. ![]() |

Good evening,
Just one skinny winner in the end last week, but better than drawing a blank. All 3 of tomorrows in with a decent squeak I think, and a good return would be very welcome leading up to Cheltenham. Newb 2.05 Dream Again Boys 5/1 ish 3.15 Sporting Boy 7/1 ish Donc 3.30 Lord Wishes 7/1 ish ![]() |

Good evening,
Have already placed some ap bets earlier, Rock On Ruby, Silviniaco Conti and Far West. Still all looking good as far as I am concerned, and now things are looking a bit more organised for next week, I've added a bit more. Tuesday 1.30 'The Supreme' Melodic Redezvous 10/1 nrnb 3.20 'Champion Hurdle' Rock On Ruby 5/1 nrnb Wed 2.40 'RSA' Unioniste 6/1 nrnb Still more to come of course, and I'm particularly interested in one that will hopefully be running in a handicap chase a little later in the week, has run to a very predictable pattern in the past and that pattern will re-emerge should it take up it's engagement. I also need to finalise one or two more for Tues/Wed. ![]() |

Afternoon FBF.
With HEAVY going at Sandown......likely to be a few "upsets" there. 2.05 race looks a minefield to go through! pass on that one! 3.15- There are a few that have obvious chances .....so I opted for an outsider that ...at a glance has little chance against in form horses. FIRST IN THE QUEUE just looks lightly raced.....and may take to going.......the chances are it won't though....but at the odds I've put it forward as an EW shout hoping it grabs a 4th spot at least . I already put KAZLIAN forward earlier this year as nap in comp....but it was "disappointing".......so against so many in form horses it may struggle to win.Shammick Boy is probably the most likely to place......but hoping for higher odds is FITQ! Again the 3.15 looks a race to avoid though on the day! ![]() 3.50 - With going now HEAVY ...CENTASIA does appear to have a strong chance to win....TOP TOTI may be one to take it on....with BE MY PRESENT a dark horse in this one (trainer may well have this one earmarked for this race..... So like your CENTASIA as most likely one of 3 to do well FBF ....but i think I'm having one of those days where difficult to "see at a glance" what one will win ![]() ![]() ![]() GL with selections and the one for TEAM!!!! Good evening
A bit of a plan 'b' for tomorrow, owing to the ground and other reasons. 1.30 Puffin Billy 2.05 Arvika Ligeonniere 3.20 Countrywide Flame CF has a nice little pattern in his race results which I hope 'will' re-emerge tomorrow. Tough race though, that's for sure. ![]() |
|

For those that might be curious about that little pattern in CWF's form, it's simple really, his runs under the following circumstances are as follows:
Countrywide Flame On undulating tracks: 11121: On tracks with a stiff finish: 111 Not written in stone of course, and it is a very tough race, but you never know. ![]() |

Good evening
Just have the one at the mo, another based on a pattern I've detected in the horses form. The stats/trends say the horse has no chance, and tbh, it is a tough ask. However, I can't ignore what I've found, so have bet accordingly. 4.00 'The Byrne Plate'. Calgary Bay 33/1 ew. Much bigger on here. The reason is as follows: Calgary Bay on galloping tracks returning after a break of 27 days or less: 13121611 at any distance. 131211 up to 24f on galloping tracks if returning after 28 days or longer:2220220P06542F850P8 Looks to me that CB needs a fairly recent run (which he's had) to get to full fitness on the race track, and this race over 21f is very interesting. You just never know, and I would not dismiss him lightly. ![]() |

Good evening again.
I've already given my reasons for a small dabble on Calgary Bay and hopefully I'll get a good run from that tomorrow. In the Ryanair at 2.40, I like the look of Cue Card, especially when you look at how close he got to Sprinter Sacre last year, and I think this trip is ideal. 7/2 ish at the mo, so reasonable odds. In the World Hurdle at 3.20, I just can't be having Oscar Whisky at this trip, and I think the one to be on is Reve De Sivola at odds of 9/2. ![]() |

Sire Collonges added at a big price e/w. Goes well fresh, likes Chelts, the ground will suit and most importantly, has recorded a very high speed fig from me earlier in the season. Could well run them ragged round here at this trip.

In the main, a disappointing day yesterday, but at least good returns on Cue Card. Today, hopefully some good runs to come. 1.30 Far West 2.40 At Fishers Cross 3.20 Silviniaco Conti I'm still looking at other races, so that's it for now. ![]() |

Morning Gents
Just wondered if you could help me regarding Clive Holts 'system' ... I used to have a copy of the original Fineform book ,but I seem to recollect someone on here (a good while ago now to be fair),mentioning another system of his that involved apprentices allowances in handicaps I believe. Can anyone enlighten me please ... Thanks in advance FFF |

In all flat race handicaps back the two horses nearest the bottom of the race that are ridden by 3lb or 5lb claiming apprentices

Thanks T2R .. Was that a Clive Holt idea or have I got that bit wrong ?

By:
It was all Clive's own work, FFF - the wording of the system rule in my previous post is exactly as it appeared in his 1989 book PROFITABLE BETTING STRATEGIES.

That is correct.
Good afters. Not the best of Chelts for me, but not a disaster. Might have a break after today. Lingfield 2.20 Intransigent 4/1 generally. That will do me for today. ![]() |

I see there are two maximums running today ...
14:55 ASHMALY ... but up 3 classes and 15:30 ROBIN HOODS BAY ... Up 1 class |

A little dabble for me on Chapter Seven in the Lincoln, can't for the life of me understand why it's much bigger than Lahaag.
Problems also with Nine Realms? |
|
By:
Good evening.
Don't know what the weather will do to racing tomorrow, but Doncaster especially, is looking doubtful at the mo. However, in 'The Lincoln' at 3.50, I still like the look of Chapter Seven, and a double figure price is still available. Generally 10/1 I think Newbury has more chance of going ahead, and I have two I like there. 2.20 Marie Des Anges 5/1 generally. 2.55 Hidden Identity 16/1 generally. Have also had a little bit on Tawhid for the 2000 Guineas. By far my fastest rated 2yo last term, and if it runs, should have a major chance. ![]() |

Good eve
I'm not getting over involved at the mo, this tends to be a poor time of year for me, but I still manage to find one or two I like, so here goes! Doncaster 3.05 Chapter Seven 10 and 11/1 generally Haydock 3.15 Cloudy Too 10/1 generally I like the look of CT, his recent record looks patchy, but on closer scrutiny, I think it's worth a small bet tomorrow, and I think the odds are generous. ![]() |

Good morning
I have at least one I like for tomorrow at Aintree. In the 'Bowl', I am going to stick with an old favourite of mine because of his liking for tight tracks over fences. I have written about the horse before and nothing has happened to change my opinion. The big question mark is the trip, but that is factored into the price. Menorah is available at decent double figure prices at the mo and biggest of all on here. As we know, galloping tracks don't suit the horse at all over fences, so this race should suit nicely. If he gets the trip, he should run a big race. ![]() |
|
By:
Good evening.
Some good racing tomorrow and I'm keen on horses in two races on the first day of Aintree. In the 2.30 I just have to stick with Menorah after all the positive write-ups I've given to this horse about running to his best on tight tracks. The one question mark of course is the trip tomorrow of 3m 1f. If he's going to win a top race of this distance, it will be here or Kempton. 16/1 at the mo and bigger on Betfair. In the 3.05, The New One is favourite and has to be respected. However, regardless of what the media say, and the (wrong) choice of the jockey, Oscar Whisky is most definately the one to be on. The only reason it isn't favourite is because of running over the wrong trip the last twice. He has never been a 3mile horse and a return to his ideal trip will bring out the best in him. 13/2 best and generally 6/1 is just too big. ![]() |
