A bit of a lean run lately, all the more frustrating knowing I've shortlisted a few winners. Could be the case again this weekend in the Portland, with a few on the list for that. Anyway,
Chester 2.10 Verse Of Love 7/1 bog Donny 3.00 Picabo 11/1 bog (also liked the fav, Hallelujah and Face The Problem) think Picabo looks the stronger option though. 4.15 Lethal Force 5/1 bog. ![]() |

Good afternoon.
Ayr 2.20 Spinatrix 16/1 Newb 3.10 Area Fifty One 20/1, 16/1 ew generally (NAP) Ayr 3.30 Boastful 28/1 In all honesty, the Gold Cup as always is hard, and have also done a few others ap, Our Jon', Morache Music and Louis The Pious, but although Boastful is a girl, I still think has a great chance from a good draw, should go close. I will be really disappointed if A51 doesn't at least get placed, has everything in it's favour tomorrow, and is easily Group 2 class on it's day, a big run expected. ![]() |

Oh well, not the best of days again yesterday, with just the one making the frame.
However, these runs happen from time to time, and I haven't let that put me off having an ap bet on a horse in the Cambridgeshire. I think the 33/1 that is still available for Swiftly Done is worth taking and that one was incredibly unlucky at Goodwood back in August, hopefully will go close in this. ![]() |

The Cambridgeshire again
Thought it would be worth having another little bet in this now the decs are out. Have really been ploughing through some strong trends tonight and ended up with Edmaaj and Jacks Revenge, my preference is for Edmaaj, but the ground might be an issue, and for the life of me, I can't for one minute understand the jockey booking for JR So, it looks like I am going to end up ignoring the trends and going with a horse that, despite being unfancied by most people again this year, I can't get away from or ignore. The fact is, that Prince Of Johanne has run on straight tracks up to 9f only 3 times, but has won all 3 times as well. He also has winning form in very big fields. Maybe the horse won't win, but I can still see it running another big race, and at the price, must be worth a small ew punt. ![]() |

Other bets so far today,

Afternoon.
Challenge Cup Ascot Saturday Have taken the 12/1 (generally available) for Don't Call Me in this on Saturday now the final decs are out. The trainer has previous, the horse fits a few of the trends, and over the trip of 7f his record is 11331, also goes on any ground. One or two others of interest, POJ, CR, and AL, but am happy enough with my pick. ![]() |

Good evening
Just the one to add for tomorrow. As well as Don't Call Me in the Challenge Cup at 3.35 (now best price 16/1 and I might also add it is 2/2 on soft) I also like the look of one at Newmarket which I think is well overpriced. Also like the look of Mince but not the price. Newm 2.50 Ollie Olga drops back in trip and class and I think the last run can be safely ignored. Best prices of 9 and 10/1 are way too big and I think it should be half those odds. ![]() |
|
By:
Have taken the 10/1 on Countrywide Flame for the Ces on Saturday at Newmarket.
Only has to reproduce his jumps speed to take this imo. I think the 10/1 will look good come the weekend. ![]() |

Good evening.
Am more than happy with 3/1 bog on Moohaajim in the Middle Park at Newmarket. This is the fastest 2yo I have rated this season, so hopefully, anything near his best should be good enough to win tomorrow. ![]() |
|

Good evening.
Just two for tomorrow, although there are a few others of interest, but not at the prices for me. Catterick 2.50 Arctic Feeling 11/2, 5/1 generally. bog Ascot 4.45 Compton 14/1 bog Also like Opinion Poll, Great Heavens and Society Rock. Hopefully can improve from the run of seconditus! ![]() |

Morning.
Backed Steeler last night at 5/1 for the Racing Post Trophy this weekend. Hopefully will still be that price after the decs today. Have it currently fastest of the rest and should be more to come. Would like to have some more on. ![]() |

Evening,
As well as Steeler, was going to say my Nap for the weekend in the 3.15 was Victrix Ludorum which should win easily but thought it would be bigger, is around evens at the mo. Anyway, in the 3.45 at Newbury, am quite hopeful of a decent run from Little Rocky, and that is 10/1 best and generally 9/1. ![]() |

Good evening,
Went a bit pear-shaped last week, but I'm sure Steeler is better than that and to be honest, the winner of that race was quite slow on the day for a Group 1 winner. I've a few rated higher than that, including Steeler on previous runs. Tomorrow though, I like Restless Harry 7/1, which I am pleased to say, has his ideal circumstances tomorrow up at Wetherby, and should go well again in this race. I also think that Time For Rupert 9/2 can go well in the Charlie Hall Chase, was well clear of the rest last year with Weird Al and should run a good race again. At Ascot in the 2.35 Raya Star is the best horse in this, has won over the C and D, goes well fresh and is generally 8/1 at the mo, from 10/1 earlier. ![]() |
|
By:
Superb selection on raya star, had no bet, excellent
read of that race, silvani conti had more scope for improvement, thats why it was banker bet for me. Well done |
|
By:
Thank you Roadrunner and well done with yours.
On looking a bit closer at TFR's record, it seems that he could well be better after a recent race, rather than a break. Time will tell. Raya Star also appears to have a nice pattern in his form, which was partly responsible for me selecting him on Saturday. Unfortunately, Restless Harry just didn't click at all in what after all, wasn't a very fast race, although with hindsight, the winner did look to have a good chance based on some previous runs. Am already having a good look at this weekends racing, and hope to have something half decent to back in at least a couple of races. Have had too many near misses lately and one winner does not a Christmas, make! ![]() Was going to lay Menorah today, but in the end it was too long for me, so left it. Another horse that seems to be predictable. Oh well, back to the November Handicap.............. |
|
By:
On the ante-post front, am quite liking the look of Communicator in the November Handicap. Some people may remember he was just collared by Tominator at Chester a while back, so owes me a win. Seems to have been laid out for this and I'm sure a good run is on the cards.
Also like the look of Nadiya De La Vega in the Paddy Power, won at Cheltenham last month in a very good time and if lining up, a repeat of that run will see her go close in this. Of course, the girls have a good record in this race......... ![]() ![]() Good prices available for both at the mo. ![]() |
|
By:
Couldn't resist a small ew bet on War Poet in the November Handicap, as well as my main bet, Communicator. 33/1 seems a tad large to me considering the horses overall track form and also goes well fresh more available on here at the mo. Looks set to run a big race. Also like the look of one in the 3.45 which I shall post shortly.
![]() |
|
By:
Also think that despite the big price Wannabe King isn't without a shout in the 3.45, I don't think the drop back in distance will be a problem and the jockey has won on the horse before. Should go well and 18/1 seems generous enough.

Oh well, not quite the end to the flat season that I'd hoped for, but a little bit of place money and ir lays helped a bit. Could have been worse!
Really thought that Comm' had come to win it towards the end, but it wasn't to be.Anyway, can concentrate on the jumps for a while now, and hopefully some good ones to come over the coming weeks. ![]() |
|
By:
unlucky with communicator, the winner was getting 7lb from the fav, with only
3/1/2 lengths to make up on last time they raced, factor in price 20/1 compared to 3/1fav, plus it was vastly more experienced than the other contenders in race. that was a value bet. sounds like you still made a profit. art scholar good horse, was already in the notebook. ![]() goodluck for jumps season. |

Good evening
As well as NDLV in the PP (generally 14/1) which I am pleased to say is a runner with AP on board, a chance is taken in a tricky race at 3.40 with Canadian Diamond. This one is available at around 16/1 and I think as long as it handles the course, should be thereabouts. Fingers crossed. Also a nice little double if it comes off. ![]() |
|
By:
I liked al ferof for pp, so I tipped it in horse antepost forum, did
mean to post it on your thread last night, forgive its last 3 runs, thought it had bags of scope for improvement, obviously had this race planned along time ago. goodluck next bet |
|
By:
I did a small write-up on another forum re: Al Ferof for this race, I've liked the horse for a long time. Didn't back it, but 'knew' it had a good chance based on my speed figures if it got the trip. Only eliminated it on the trends, well, I have to draw lines somewhere!
![]() Well done for backing it roadrunner. My calculations suggest heavy ground all through the card today. Surely Claisse didn't water midweek??? No way it could have been heavy just with some overnight rain! ![]() Have two I like for the hurdle race tomorrow, will post later. |
|
By:
I don't often bet two horses in a race, but the big hurdle race tomorrow in very testing ground has pushed me into backing a horse I've been waiting on for a while now under these conditions. I've fancied Dark Lover for this for a while, so don't want to desert him now, but the other one that I simply must back because of the conditions is Bothy. The trip, course and ground will suit and I hope for a decent run, the price is way too big at 20/1 after Darlan's defection. The same is true of Dark Lover at 11/1. A win and place will be satisfying.

olofi if you forgive its last 3 runs, it beat 21 horses in that corrosponding
race last year, probably put on lot of weight in last 12 months, so much stronger horse. goodluck no fancies this weekend? |
|
By:
silvani conti won again, looked banker bet to me,
who knows when long run will win again ? even I cant answer that. |
|
By:
what happened to the magpie ?
|
|
By:
just watched silvani conti race on you tube, it controlled
pace and race from start to finish, jumping was perfection. |

Been away, forgot to post, sorry.
Missed a good'un on my speed figures, such is life..... ![]() Anyway, this week.....I like the look of Flight Lieutenant in the Henn, a good double figure price at the mo, also another in the same race with definate place claims. Will prob have a small list by Friday, only got back tonight...... Laters. |
|
By:
With regard to Long Run, has always been slow on my figures unless he gets fast ground, so likely to lose most of the time.
As for the 'Magpie' sadly died a few years ago, as far as we know. RIP ![]() |

Good evening
Just the two tomorrow so far, At Newcastle in the 2.20, I am hoping it will still be muddy enough for Countrywide Flame (4/1), I strongly fancy this one to beat Cinders and Ashes if it is. Bothy wouldn't be without a squeak either if running to his best. In the Hennessy at Newbury, I've already backed First Lieutenant and this one is still a bet at 10/1, a good run expected on this flat track. ![]() |

good winner, did you pick it on form? or was it the maths.
how was flight luetenant going win that race and reverse form, you should try tricasts sometimes, 3 usual suspects finished in the places, well done. |
