No time for any fancy write-ups tonight, but rest assured, a good bit of study has gone into these as per usual, and as always, I am hopeful of decent runs from all of them. Good evening
Have had to move quick on one I strongly fancied for the Bond Tyres Sprint at York in the 3.10. Unfortunately someone else has latched onto this and the 25/1 has now gone but 22/1 still avaiable in a place at the time of writing. Generally 14 and 16/1 now, still great value as I had it pencilled in at around 8/1 for this. The horse is Nameitwhatyoulike and a big run is expected. Also expect Tullius to win the 3.45 at the same venue, 9/4 seems fair. At Sandown in the 3.25, I know Pearl Secret is strongly fancied for this, but I think 4/1 for Ballesteros is too big for this C and D winner and this one could well upset the odds-on fav. ![]() |

Good morning.
The first day of the Royal Meeting and I can't ignore a couple of obvious ones that should run big races, and, because it's Royal Ascot, the prices are ok. I've had a good look and can't see any reason why they shouldn't go well. 3.05 Bated Breath 6/1 (nb) 3.45 Power 4/1 (Nap) 5.00 Veiled 12/1 (Patent) ![]() |

Good evening.
A bit of luck today with a nice 16/1 winner in the Hunt Cup, but also a bit frustrating that yet again, we've just missed out on a nice little double. Never mind, one day, one day......... The weather could make things a bit tricky for Thursday, but I think the ones I've gone with, should go well enough. 4.25 Fast Or Free 8/1 5.35 Rocktherunway 16/1 (at least) ![]() |

Good evening.
Well, another good winner today, but alas, no double again. Ours was never in contention in the last, having missed the break badly, and the writing was on the wall very early. Just the two again tomorrow, and as always, good runs expected from both. 4.25 Qaraaba 8/1, 9/1 best. 5.35 Global Village 10 and 11/1 available ![]() |

Good evening,
Still one to run today, after the first one had a poor draw and ride which probably cost it the race. Generally speaking, the racing is awful tomorrow from a betting perspective for me, so only have one at Ayr and one in The Wokingham. Ayr 1.55 Bosun Breese (No prices at time of writing, should be 4/1 ish) 9/2 just up. Ascot 4.25 Desert Law 16/1 generally. Won't be home from work until after 6 tomorrow, so will have to watch a recording. ![]() |

Good evening,
No complaints overall last week, with a few nice ones going in, this week a bit more tricky I think. Unfortunately, the uncertainty surrounding the Newcastle meeting has forced me to avoid that and concentrate on Newmarket as I shall be at work again. It doesn't matter though, have still come up with a couple, and hopefully they won't be far away against a couple of over-rated, short-priced favourites. (Famous last words) Newmarket 2.00 Perfect Delight 12/1 3.00 Barbican 7/1 Prices available at time of writing. ![]() |

Haydock goes ahead which is good (I hope) and fingers crossed, I've got two good ones up there and hopefully, one 'nailed on' at Sandown. No long write-ups today, just the horses, prices available and the fact that, as usual, I've had a good look and hope I've got it right. Sandown 2.40 Trade Commissioner 5/2 and 11/4 available Haydock 2.55 Set To Music 4/1 3.25 Number Theory 9/1 ![]() |

Hello again
Don't want to get carried away after Saturday, however, I do think it's worth having a small ante post play on the John Smiths Cup at York this Saturday as I can't believe the price for my pick is so big at the mo. Area Fifty One flew home last time out in what I consider to be a Group 2 time, bordering Group 1. I could be kicking myself come Saturday if I allowed this one to go off at a short price this weekend knowing I could have got a decent price earlier. Was expecting it to be favourite tbh. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go off around 6/1 on the day. John Smiths Cup York Saturday 14th July Bet: Area Fifty One 1pt win 0.5pt place B 3 6 5 ![]() |

Just realised I never put the price that was available at the time of writing
![]() Was of course 12/1 at the time, 9/1 now which would still be of interest to me come the final decs if still available. ![]() |

Good evening.
A good bit of racing tomorrow and the one I'm really interested in, runs in the 2.25 at Newmarket. Greek War looks set to run a big race and at least 8/1 is on offer for this one. ![]() |

Good evening.
Things didn't go to plan today and that really was quite awful! Anyway, I have one tomorrow at York, and again, I would hope for a half decent run from this one. We shall see. York 3.45 Rios Rosanna 10/1 at the mo. ![]() |

Good evening
Just a quicky for now, have already mentioned Rios Rosanna at York tomorrow, still 10/1 with 3 6 5. On Saturday in the Bunbury Cup I've had a small bet on Bonnie Brae at 16/1, that's gone now but still a few doing 14/1. At first glance seems to be out of form with not much chance, but the race I think this year is quite dreadful, and having looked a bit deeper, can't help but feel Bonnie Brae could go well. Already a C and D winner, the horse has smart form on soft ground (which I hope it will be on Saturday. Her form in these circumstances reads 112. A small sample, I know, but that 2nd came to Global Village earlier in the season and that one went on to run very well in the Buckingham Palace Stakes last month. Bonnie Brae 1pt win 0.5 pt place. 14/1 in a few places. ![]() |

Good evening
A good run from that one today, but not quite good enough, finishing 3rd beaten around a length. Just the one in addition to Bonnie Brae and Area Fifty One for tomorrow, which runs in the first race at Newmarket, due off at 1.40. Kevin Ryan's Ardmay looks the one to be on to me, and I think this one should be favourite, but what do I know? Odds of at least 10/1 looks very generous to me, and I shall be very disappointed if this one doesn't go well. Bet: Ardmay 1pt win 0.5 pt place 10/1 3 6 5 and Sly bet 9/1 generally. ![]() |

Good afternoon.
A tricky days racing tomorrow, but as usual I'm hopeful that I've got a couple that will be thereabouts at the business end of their races, and at the prices, are well worth a go. Both run at Ascot. In the 3.20 Tullius has been progressing nicely all season and to be honest, I've never really thought much of Carlton House, and I really think my selection can turn him over if he runs as fast as he already has. The big betting race of the day is the International Stakes due off at 3.55. This is no easy race to solve and I've had to reach a decision from 7 shortlisted horses, and even then I may not have the winner in there! The form I'm interested in for this came from the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot where we were fortunate enough to be on the winner. The horse that chased him home that day by half a length was Excellent Guest and I'm sure this is the one to go with. I think the drop back in distance is ideal, and granted a trouble free run should be going very close in this. The prices are only just starting to go up as I write and at least 5/1 is available for Tullius and at least 12/1 for Excellent Guest. Fingers crossed for another good day. ![]() |

Good evening.
Not too bad today, with Olympic Glory getting up in the dying strides to take a race that quite frankly, I and many others thought was lost over a furlong out. As for tomorrow, just one selection in the first race, which hopefully will go well. 2.15 Grandeur best odds at the mo 12/1 and 11/1, I think this will go off a bit shorter and has a good chance I think. ![]() |

Good morning.
Have now had a good look at the 3.10 and after a fair bit of digging, have decided that it is worth going with Swiftly Done for this race at odds of 14/1 ew. The horse has done nothing wrong this season and the fact that the horse has been running well with plenty of cut appears to be coincidence really with the awful summer we've had. That was the only concern I had initially and I think the price is well worth the risk. It should be noted that Trade Commissioner was a hot favourite for this race until being withdrawn for 'not eating up'. At the time I think his price was 9/2 ish. Last time out Vainglory ran a fine 2nd to Mull Of Killough, and was beaten by just 3/4 by TC the time before that. Vainglory was well and truly beaten over 5 lengths back in June by Swiftly Done, who has progressed nicely since then. Makin Eyes from that race has since been out and won a Listed race abroad. So, no major reason not to expect another good run today from that decent draw. Bet: Swiftly Done 1pt win 1/2pt place 14/1 generally. ![]() |

After that awful garbage a few days ago, nice to be able to look at the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon later this week.
Always a tricky race but could have had the winner last year if I'd ignored the draw. I've backed one ante-post (Badblokes NRNB?!) I'm not saying it would be a definate day of race bet, but already had it in mind for this prior to backing it recently. The horse is Elusive Prince and is available at the mo at odds of 25/1. Won't mind if the ground is soft and has won 3/4 at Ripon to date. His running style should also be suitable for the race. I've not gone silly with the stakes as running plans aren't confirmed yet, but worth a tickle at the price. ![]() |
|
By:
Good evening.
Am still happy with Elusive Prince in the Great St Wilfrid up at Ripon due off at 3.30. This one is still generally available at 20/1 and has a good enough draw for this race as well. Just before that at Newmarket in the 3.20, I think that Show Flower can get back to winning ways and this one is available at the nice price of 10/1. So, if it comes off, a nice double of well over 200/1. Fingers crossed. ![]() |

Good evening.
The least said about me passing over a good priced winner today the better I think. Tomorrow though, I'm hopeful of a good run from Anderiego in the 3.05 in the 1m handicap. The horse has run well in it's last few runs and there's no reason why it shouldn't go close again tomorrow. 8/1 BOG seems fair enough, so fingers crossed for that. ![]() |

don't know if you have heard of Larkspur FB but it's his nap of the day. Fingers crossed as he napped a 7/1 at York yesterday also.

Hi BB.
Was a disappointing run in the end, slow pace, poor ride maybe, was well fancied by most in the end. The Ebor Couldn't resist a small ew on a horse that owes me nothing and I believe will run a big race on Saturday. Number Theory is available at 12/1 at the mo, but is already being nibbled at and I think could well be close to favourite on Saturday, especially if the ground softens up with the rain. ![]() |
