126 Wins from 138 bets 91%) 12 losers from138 bets - 5 of those were mistakes - 3 on the pished day, so my SR should be 95% but hey thats aftertiming - i`m not in to that ;-). But got up to a new bank high yesterday so still going well. Hows your luck mate?? :-) Steve |

Mountain of money for Salford City, 3.3 - 2.8 Alright Nutmeister - I know Salford City was backed in and was attracting a lot of support however, If I avoided a lay just because it came in for support it would cost me a lot of profitable lays. Quite a lot of my lays attract support and a fairly high % are backed in to favouritism but as I said I cannot withdraw it as a selection just because of market support.....obviously I am trying to beat the market and so far my opinions on a horses chance of winning at their odds has out performed the markets opinion - so really if you think you have a sound process of selecting successful win/lay bets then whatever happens in the market proir to a race should not have any influence on your bets.....i think ;-) Steve |

I sometimes look at it like golf. I did an amateur circuit for three years (one heck of a party) and learnt alot. What I did learn is the game is never about the shot you just hit. It's about your next shot. Okay, this one went off the fairway but the flag and the run of the green remain in your favour. Go for it. As one that joined around 8 weeks after you, I can say that overall this is one of the top threads. I tried this route and have not had the success. I've limited myself on the horses but diversified to keep the game fresh for me. A tip of the hat to you, sir, and have a good weekend. |

Hi Shapeshifter - Very true that 1 days results means almost nothing in the laying game and looking at things long term. Overall since I joined BF I have enjoyed some success but my downfall has always been discipline - which I have now, hopefully managed to keep under control - the reason for starting this thread really. I have learnt to accept days like this and tend now to focus on the better days rather than dwelling on the bad days - if you can do that I think you are almost there. Positivity and discipline and good bank management are key, a good SR is also important but I think SR alone will not produce success. Thanks for your post and good luck Steve |

Quite a bad day yesterday but not as bad as it could have been - managed to get a few fairly short prices beaten meaning we recouped some good profits on those. Only down £231.28 with 3 losing bets so no worries really. Have made more on a good day so lets wait and see what happens today. Days like this are always going to happen - it's how you bounce back and deal with them that sort the men from the boys ;-)
