Good Afternoon
To keep the figures fair for all I have included the loss from 2 Saturday's ago when I posted 5 losers. It cost Just under £2,000 :0 I didn't actually lay any selections that day as we had 2 previous days where I was having technical trouble - I had tried to automate my ratings but had a big problem as this didn't seem to work very well and resulted in the wrong selections being made! As you will notice on that Saturday I made a note re the prices of the runners and said that we had never layed so many shorties - well that explained why! They were the wrong selections. Everything is sorted now so If we have 10 losers in a day I'll take it on the chin.......But I'm pretty positive we won't :-) Anyway, I subtracted £2k from the P+L figures to make things fair for anyone who layed the losers. Also subtracted 15 points from the level stakes totals. Also, I can't be called a ** now :-) Back to normal now - fingers crossed for a good day :-) Day 89 Wednesday 8th July 2009 Starting Bank: £5,000 Bank: £14,460.78 Bank High: £16,460.78 Today's Stakes Remain The Same: Prices below 3.5: lay to 1% of bank - backer's stake £164.60 Prices from 3.6 to 4.5 lay to 0.9% of bank - backer's stake £148.14 Prices from 4.6 to 5.5 lay to 0.8% of bank - backer's stake £121.68 Prices from 5.6 to 6.5 lay to 0.7% of bank - backer's stake £115.22 Prices from 6.6 to 7.5: lay to 0.6% of bank - backer's stake £98.76 Prices from 7.6 to 8.5 lay to 0.5% of bank - backer's stake £82.30 Prices from 8.6 to 9.5: lay to 0.4% of bank - backer's stake £65.84 Prices from 9.6 to 10.5 lay to 0.3% of bank - backer's stake £49.38 Prices from 10.6 to 11.5 lay to 0.2% of bank - backer's stake £32.92 Today's Selections: Lingfield: 2.10 Muffets dream Newmarket: 3.10 Spacious Catterick: 4.40 Big Slick Kempton: 6.20 Duke Of Milan 7.20 Action Impact 8.20 Highly Regal Worcester: 8.10 Dark Energy Good Luck Steve Todays Takings: £ Less 5 % Comm. £ Todays Losses: £0 Profit/Loss: £ Bank: £16,460.78 Level Stakes: Todays P + L Points Total P + L +191.15 Points Todays Strike Rate % Total Strike Rate 88.62% Wins 530 - 598 Bets |

Steve, Are you still aiming for 100k? And if so what sort of time frame are you looking at achieving it? Cheers. Hi Mate I sure am :-) And I'm hoping to do it in about 3 weeks ;-) No, if I manage it within a year I will be very pleased. Staking a % of bank starts off slowly but as the bank grows the bet size and hopefully the profits snowball! Maria made £30,000 in 10 months and £70,000 in 2 months. (£100,000 total) Just go's to show that you can make big money when compounding profits :-) Steve Xaver_Knudlhuber 09 Jul 11:05 Hi from Sydney ;-) Means late nights to follow it G'day Mate Welcome to the thread - all contributions welcome here and good luck if u decide to join in :-) Cheers Steve |

Going well Steve, nice one. Might take a bit longer than Maria, i believe she layed up to 20 horses on some days especially near the end. But who cares profit is profit, personally i wouldn't have a time limit you might feel less presurised, Anyway keep up the good work fella.

I watch this thread with great interest. You've probably already answered this Steve, but is this your full time occupation? Also, are your selections based on statistical analysis? I have been using a fixed stake to back and lay for the past 4 years, but I am seriously thinking of changing it % of bank.

By:
can of worms there Midas - you open a can of worms..
|
|
By:
I assume you refer to the % stake question. Looked into it previously and came to the conclusion that fixed stakes was the best way to go based on my betting strategy. I suppose if you look at the worst case scenarios of losing runs and then create a stake in accordance with the pot size you should be OK?!
|
|
By:
worst case and then some more I think!

Well a profit was made yesterday using level stakes (+1.5 pts) but was down approx £5 using staking bands due to the price of the winner and the lower stakes won on the bigger priced losers.
I am kicking myself about yesterday as I was being rather cautious and I left a selection out as it only just qualified as a lay ( Fin Vin De Leu 2/1f L). As you know it went on to get stuffed so that would have made the difference between a slight loss on the day and a decent winning day. Hull 09 Jul 14:48 Going well Steve, nice one. Might take a bit longer than Maria, i believe she layed up to 20 horses on some days especially near the end. But who cares profit is profit, personally i wouldn't have a time limit you might feel less presurised, Anyway keep up the good work fella. Hi Hull Cheers Bud. Yeah I think it will mate but I don't have time scale or target really, as you say profit is profit :-) Midas 09 Jul 15:11 I watch this thread with great interest. You've probably already answered this Steve, but is this your full time occupation? Also, are your selections based on statistical analysis? I have been using a fixed stake to back and lay for the past 4 years, but I am seriously thinking of changing it % of bank. Hi Midas Well I don't have a Job, so laying and a couple of other strategies in my repertoire are my only source of income :0 My selections are based on my own ratings that take in to account 40+ variables. Re fixed stake or % stake.....I would go for % stake as the trouble with fixed stake is that it could bear no correlation to the size of your betting bank and you could be betting a stake far too big or far too small compared to the size of your bank. The good thing about betting x % is that you are always staking the exact same % of your bank and your risk is always in the same proportion to your bank. I think a good starting point is to use 1% risk of your betting bank. So if backing, stake 1% per bet and if laying risk 1% per bet. A lot of people will think this is too cautious but believe me, if you hit that inevitable bad bad losing run then you will be glad that you were not staking 5 or 10% of your bank! Also if you strategy is sound then no matter how small your starting bets are, your bank will grow and your stakes will grow with your bank. Hope this helps mate :-) Cheers Steve |

Laying horses on the evidence of someones say so, its pathetic and your all mugs ! It's "you're" by the way. Day 89 Wednesday 8th July 2009 Starting Bank: £5,000 Bank: £14,456.25 Bank High: £16,460.78[/b Anybody who followed Propunta from the start would have nearly [b]trebled their bank. Strange how people like you appear because of one bad day. |

Fair play to you Roger for trebling your bank !

I wish!
Actually I lay for £ 2 only - as it's not my work/efforts/research - and it provides an interest alongside my own bets. Still not sure why you leapt in but are now appearing more reasonable. Anyway, don't bother answering - it's not our thread after all. Good luck with your own bets. |
