I hope he doesn't make the pitch slippery.

He wouldn't be much good in goal.

I backed Rovers at 13.5 and Salford at 15 The Dragon. I could have had a much better price for Col U had I waited but that's part of the game.
I've also backed German women today on the draw no bet market, just a hunch as they showed how tough they can be against France. If they score first I'll dutch the draw on the main market and trade out of that should Spain equalise. |
|
By:
im on spain in the outrightsand eng as acover bet , hoping that spain qualify. prob wont back on the match itself but i think the germans have rode their luck and spain will be too good for them.

You could be right. It's been an enjoyable competition so far regardless of the result and exceeded my expectations.

spot on , if you asked me 6 mths ago wd i have sat down and watched womens football id have said no chance, but i have really enjoyed the openess of the football thats been played. been good viewing and im looking forward to the two remaining matches

ive had a look at the first weekends fixtures which are schedulded for 2 august and compared the prices in the outrights for each fixture.
The biggest discrepencies are Bristol (1.89 v Harrogate) and Notts Co(1.62 away at Newport). Next are Chesterfield at 1.64 at home v Barrow. Be interesting to see if the discrepancy in the outright prices are justified in the first day fixtures. Just a bit of interest as I normally dont start betting on League football until 5/6 games have been completed. |
|
By:
It's a bit too early to be trusting such short prices in my view. Like you I prefer to watch and wait for a few weeks.
|
|
By:
indeed , just a bit of interest for first matches, done the same for div 1 and got Wigan,Mansfield blackpool and Rotherham
|

League 2 kicks off this Saturday and at this stage a lot of the prices look driven by the preseason hype.
Just an opinion based mainly on last season's form, the outstanding bet for me would be the 2.16 about Col U who host Tranmere Rovers. I am however keeping my hands in my pockets until we can see what's what. |

I am looking at Gillingham away at Accrington Stanley
Going to be 6/4-7/4+ You are probably right Foinavon. Too early to call the short odds but I think not too early to call one or two teams who are going to struggle Follow the money We need some forensic science and investigation |
|
By:
Maybe but there are always surprises. Would you have expected Newport for example to be leading Barnet 2-0 into added time in the recent cup game? Gillingham are expected to do well this season, they usually get off to a fast start but let's see where they finish.
|
|
By:
True!
|
|
By:
What are you doing in the Test? I haven't yet looked at the cricket forum. More rain is expected over the last two days but the wicket is bowler friendly although Woakes is out of it. I am out at the moment, seems too tricky to call.
|
|
By:
Far too tricky to call
I would stay out of I were you Not being U, I have layed England at 1.85, which, was the right price. I suspect India might roll England over this afternoon under cloud. Interesting to see how many runs they add this morning 16 overs to the new ball. If India bat tomorrow under sunny skies it could be their game. Equally if England survive tonight they have a long batting line up. |

Thanks, Whispering, I'm just watching at the moment.

I think India above 4 or an England lay are appropriate now! |

Good find thanks Foinavon

I couldn't resist a small back of the draw at 7.4

Ooh no!
Get in and out One wicket might bring 3. Lawyer may be coming off the ball now Keep a close eye. You’re in the money already! |
|

Absolutely, all my positions are for trading. I think it has a bit further to run.

Walking wicket Crawley survives again

Yes you might be right! Good luck

By:
Yep time to get out, wicket incoming I think.

Only one of the odds on fancied teams managed to win yesterday (Chesterfield). Laying them all would have been a successful ploy. This is likely to be another competitive season in this league and finding winners will not be easy.
|
|
By:
yes foin thats what makes it so fascinating
|
|
By:
Yes we should all put our tips up and lay them!
Dreadful day at the office yesterday. Reining it in already! |
|
By:
i rarely back until teams have played at least 5 games. if i do have a bet early on its for interest only.
shoved a fiver on stockport today at 21/20 |

Another good result for Stanley in the EFL cup preliminary tonight, they will do better this season than last. Don't know about Oldham, they drew 0-0 with MK Dons on Saturday and lost 3-1 tonight. Maybe a bit soon to draw parallels but let's see what happens on Saturday.
|
|
By:
Another match day to watch and learn. No bets for me.
Last week MK Dons were unimpressive given the preseason hype. I thought Barrow did well against fancied Chesterfield but lost by the only goal. I think Barrow might win today hence my 1-0 guess in the correct score competition. The belt and braces bet would be Barrow +1 at around 1.6 Another under-performer was Salford and they might come another cropper at Meadow Lane today. All crystal ball predictions at this stage and good luck if you have a bet, you will need it ![]() |
|
By:
only 3 teams with 2 out of 2 wins. chuffed with my chesterfield selection but early days of course.
5 teams with 2 out of 2 losses . grim start by bristol rovers |
|
By:
Salford looked the part today, one of my selections and I'm pleased they are getting their act together. Terrible defensive errors by Notts and up front they are still missing Jatta, suspended after a stupid red card in the play offs. Rovers are a disappointment and 2 draws from Col U. Agree Chesterfield are looking good and part of a winning treble if I remember correctly.
|
|
By:
yup nice early day winners here. had a brief look at next weekend fixtures and can see the same teams winning again but will post selections later in the week
|
|
By:
Well done,I hope they come in again for you next week. I've been out since 5pm so just catching up on things although I was able to watch a bit of both Southampton and Notts games earlier. Chitchat Di's 0-1 was looking good until the 90th minute. I will be sticking with the Eliteserien for my bets for a few weeks more.

The Gills outbored Walsall 1 nil today, could be a familiar scoreline this season as Gills will be very hard to beat (11 unbeaten now under Gareth Ainsworth).
Their problem is the eternal one of lack of goals, good to see Bradley Dack net the winner today, would be great if he gets back to anything like his old form. Sam Vokes signed in the summer, still recovering from a broken arm but could be crucial up front once fit. |
|
By:
Agree Dixie, Gills look like being a banker for unders most games
Put them up as 1 of 2 season long selections on another thread, along with Bristol Rovers... Think, even at this early stage, that I'm relying on Gillingham... Plenty of Rovers fans where I live are telling me how bad they are already |
|
By:
AFC Wimbledon are another. They play each other tomorrow in the EFL cup.
