Treble up
TBH I'd given up all hope earlier on in the season and when I did think they might have a decent squeak on both occasions they blew it. Bradford had a couple of glorious chances last 5 minutes and whilst I was typing that they score with a wicked deflection in the last minute of injury time |

chaos with a pitch ivasion. Still a minute to go. Sarcevic sent off and still a minute left

I noticed that MK Dons are heading the betting for next season's L2 champions and half the volume so far has been for them. They have made a few significant signings but so have some other clubs. Perhaps the price is a bit short at the present moment but I will watch with interest.

Here is the news I was able to find about the Gills. Judging from last season's performances, they need some new players who can find the back of the net. I agree with you about their price The Dragon, they usually get off to a good start then fade after a dozen matches.

i will lay them for small amouts foin to give me some interest from the very start of the season

barnet of any interest at 23?
|

Achieving a double promotion is very difficult unless you have the resources of a Wrexham. I suspect Barnet will be a contender just as Chesterfield were last season but to win the division is a big ask and 23 is a more realistic price than Chesterfield's was last year. The team that impressed me last season was Colchester United who effectively did a Doncaster in rising from the relegation zone to almost make the playoffs. No transfer news at present but it looks like they will have some money to spend soon. I've had a small bet on them, they are currently 16 on here.

and stockport of course..colu are seriel failures of course , just ask COLU
i wont be backing them for sure but will follow them with interest. Chesterfield were one of the favs last year for promo and maybe after a year in the league they maybe a bit more savvy and worth an interest - if a bitshort at 17/2? tough tough league ![]() |

By:
Tranmere Rovers did the double promotion too 7 or 8 seasons ago only to slump straight back down. The league is an intriguing mix of clubs that have seen better times and newly arrived ambitious ones from the lower regions. There are also 6 new arrivals. I note there has been some betting activity for Swindon but no news to explain it.
Last season I backed 3 clubs on the winner market and made a trading profit despite none of them being promoted. I will do the same this season. Colu and two others, probably Notts and Salford but not fully decided yet. |

Thanks Foin always good to read your comments on this league.

Oldham will definitely be in the mix, have an enthusiastic owner, with a few quid to add to the squad, get decent home gates and strong away following and at 25 and even bigger, will be in the mix...

Thanks Feed the Goat, definitely one to consider.

Definitely not that much difference between the Conference and League 2 over the last 5 seasons or so....
|
|
By:
yes hadnt given Oldham much thought TBH and defo worth a look based on that FTG. 25.00 on here
|
|
By:
Yes, caused by the restrictive promotion quota. You could swap the top quarter of the National league and the bottom quarter of L2 and improve the latter.
|
|
By:
maybe oldham worth considering at a trading posi Foin?
|
|
By:
I'm glad to see Oldham back, they were a founder member if I remember correctly. They did well in the playoffs scoring 3 against York and they overturned a Southend lead to get promoted. I'm not sure what their resources are but the fire seems to be there. Trading is all about best prices and market perception and I suspect they will be better than 20 at some stage in the proceedings. The bug bear with this market though is the wide spreads and lack of interest and volume in all but the top 3 or 4 in the market, making unravelling a position difficult. Walsall made things easy for me last season but I don't expect that to be the norm.

MK Dons have tabled an offer for Stockport County midfielder Will Collar, Football League World has exclusively been informed.
Paul Warne is leading the Dons into his first summer transfer window in charge at Stadium MK, and will be hoping to conclude some shrewd business in order to get the club finally moving back in the right direction next season. MK have been unable to arrest their downward spiral over the last few years, having gone from finishing third in League One in the 2021/22 season, to recording a 19th-placed finish in League Two last term. Warne has already made a handful of signings in the early stages of the summer window, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Gethin Jones and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy all having already put pen to paper on their respective deals with the club. The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of this month, after County confirmed via their club website that he'd be leaving Edgeley Park upon the expiration of his contract. Having joined the club on a free transfer from Scottish side Hamilton Academical in February 2021, the versatile attacking midfielder has gone on to make over 170 appearances for the Hatters. |

MK Dons are splashing the cash and he will be an expensive acquisition by L2 standards. There is also speculation that they are interested in Stephen Humphrys (Barnsley).
|
|
By:
id still rather be a layer than a backer Foin
|
|
By:
stockport patently dont want him going forward ... hoping they get a good price
|
|
By:
I backed them as one of my 3 last season and won't risk disappointment again so I'm with you on that. The price is already too short. Bringing in a few names doesn't guarantee success.
|
|
By:
yes totally agree. i backed them also last year in the outrights and they were never at the races.
hopefully this time it will be the same as they are short in a very competitive league |
|
By:
MKDONS home to oldham first game - that shd be interesting

MKD now 4/1 favs in the outrights on here

Less than 6K matched on the whole market, my only bet so far is for Colu.

just having a look at chesterfield Foin who started last season as one of the favs.
They finished last season well with only 1 loss in the last 13 games and 8 wins. Home form was pretty good but away form was defo ropey with 11 losses out of 23. they had a dreadful run between xmas and early March when they won 2 out of 12 games they are currently second favs at 8.4. I backed Donny last season based on their excellent run towards the end of the previous season. Chesterfield are deffo on my radar |
|
By:
There were several with a late run, my one to watch is Salford.

League 2 transfers so far.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-two/transfers/wettbewerb/GB4 Nothing particularly outstanding. MK Dons have acquired the allegedly most valuable player Aaron Collins and I note that Bristol Rovers have made what look like some good signings to bolster their defence. Notts Co have lost arguably their best player David McGoldrick. Looking at the exchange Winner market based on last season's league position, MK Dons, Gillingham and Swindon look far too short. Three teams which were thereabouts but faded late on Walsall, Notts and Crewe look about right and 3 teams which came with a strong late run Chesterfield, Salford and Colchester are for me ones to watch although Chesterfield are very short priced. I have already backed Colchester and am considering backing Salford and Bristol Rovers too. |

Salford City have signed former Wrexham goalkeeper Mark Howard.
The 38-year-old was released by the Red Dragons at the end of last season after 58 appearances in three seasons. Howard previously played three games on loan at the Ammies from Blackpool in 2019. "This move is the perfect fit for me right now, it is exciting," he told the club website., external The League Two side have not disclosed the length of contract Howard has signed. |

Chesterfield have signed former Everton midfielder Luke Butterfield on a two-year deal following a trial.
The 21-year-old has appeared in all of the Spireites' pre-season friendlies so far this summer after being released by the Toffees at the end of last season. Butterfield could make his competitive debut for Paul Cook's side in their League Two season-opener at home to Barrow on Saturday, 2 August. "It's a pleasure to finally get the deal sorted. I'm excited for the season ahead," he told the club website. |
