Just looked, were 14s about a month agowhen I first did them, and Rovers at the same price Still 14s up until today after the start they had plus pre season favs MK Dons under performing |

Bet365 going 10s about the Gills now Reg, 1/4 3 places.

Cheers Dixie, that's updated quick
Just looked and also 3s top3 finish plus 4/5 top seven I wouldn't want to tie money up for a season at 4/5 but looks good |
|
By:
i have backed gillingham and notts co this weekend
chesterfield and grimsby look solid home wins and an even money double. |

KEY FACTS - Who scored?
Gillingham are undefeated in their last 21 matches (League Two). Cheltenham have lost 8 of their last 10 matches (League Two). There have been under 2.5 goals scored in 9 of Colchester's last 10 games (League Two). |
|
By:
All good things come to an end, Gills lose 1 nil at home to Harrogate to end 21 match unbeaten run
![]() Lots of attempts at goal but only 2 on target. Away to MK Dons next week, need to bounce back asap as we don't want a repeat of the last two seasons. |

walsall going well
|

We are starting to see who the real contenders are now. Gillingham's loss at home to a rather mediocre team poses questions particularly over their goal scoring ability. Dixie Dean is right, MK Dons represents a real test of their ability to bounce back. Walsall are quietly consistent and Bristol Rovers continue their rise up the table, coming from behind to beat one of the league's strongest sides.

some cracking games thos weekend as some of the top teams meet each other.
Walsall play inform Bristol Rovers and Salford are at home to free scoring Grimsby. MKD are at home to Gills which is also a big game. Hard to call any of those games as any result is possible. Maybe try a sneaky away treble for a big priced win. My only substantial bet in this division is SWINON to win at Newport- see my thread for full details. Gl if you bet on any of these and as alaways comments and adcvice gratefully received. |

away treble pays 40/1 with 365

Gills will be without their charismatic manager Gareth Ainsworth for a few weeks as he is having a planned heart operation. Hope it doesn't coincide with a downturn in form.
Gareth's trusty assistant Richard Dobson takes over in his absence. |
|
By:
hope his op goes ok and he makes a swift and speedy recovery
|
|
By:
I'm sure he'll be fine Dragon, it's a relatively routine op for a condition picked up a few months back as part of health checks offered by the League Management Association.
Richard Dobson has been his right hand man for years so Gills are in good hands. Gills are 3/1 in a place for tomorrows game, might be tempted. |
|
By:
ok thanks yup ive done them in an away day treb with bristol rover and grimsby - 40/1 - all with some sort of chance i reckon
|
|
By:
All of those fixtures are a coin toss on form dragon so in that instance i would go with the away teams as value, so couldn't disagree with you.
Weather doesn't look great for the Salford/Grimsby game, hope it goes ahead ok. |

By:
yup its pretty grim up north DD

Dixie is right, we should be wary of the changing playing conditions at this time of year especially in the lower divisions.
The one I like for betting purposes is Newport v Swindon which should be a nailed on away win. Home teams I like the look of are Barnet, Barrow and Cambridge, I've no opinion on the outcomes for rest but will watch with interest. |

TOP FACTS Who Scored?
Cheltenham have lost 9 of their last 11 matches (League Two). Newport have lost 7 of their last 8 matches (League Two). |

I'm being cautious today because of the weather. I've backed Swindon in the early games, my only UK bet. Thinking of backing Galatasaray later (currently around 1.7). Normally, I would back the 3 league 2 home teams mentioned here yesterday but I'm keeping my powder dry for tomorrow.

New stand being opened today at Bromley for all those interested....only half capacity allowed today mind but hoping it should make a difference....Ill be there hoping for a good result

A few of my mates played for Bromley in the 80.s .. Isthmian Lge

Swindon were fortunate to come away with the win today, poor finishing let Newport down.
I didn't watch the Gills game, 3 down at one time and came back to 3-2. Did anybody watch it? |
|
By:
The gills gave as good as they got overall Foin, had more possession which is unusual for them but even more unusually shipped three goals (one unlucky og).
Essentially gave themselves too much to do. Next week is Cheltenham at Priestfield so really need 3 points there to get back on track. |
|
By:
Thanks dixie, it will be interesting to see the rest of the results at 5pm.
|
|
By:
Not many surprises today apart from Colchester putting 6 past fancied Chesterfield and Gillingham's usually tight defence conceding 3 goals. My only bet won in rather unconvincing style and I'm now looking forward to Galatasaray kicking off at 6pm and hopefully topping up the war chest for tomorrow.

The game at Bromley was played in the most mental cross wind I've ever seen. Both teams were average in difficult conditions....Should Bromley have held on once 3-1 up.....Probably....Were Tranmere good for the draw overall....Probably.....Have I ever seen a Manager lose the plot like Woodman dod for the booking and then the red card....Unlikely...Did he deserve it overall...again unlikely. The ref was porr albeit of tricky conditions but goodness me he got a lot wrong for both sides. I havn't seen it back but trying to be neutral i believed Websters sending off was correct as he was being outpaced by the Tranmere player....My mates reckon there was cover.....I don't recall seeing any.
3-3...Both teams possibly could have and should've won |

It sounds like an exciting and controversial game. I saw Bromley on TV last season and the pitch looked very open at least on the side opposite the TV cameras. It looked like a park fenced off from a road. Is the new stand on that side?
|
|
By:
The Galatasaray game was also marred by a red card, something we just have to accept will go against us occasionally.
|
|

Foin, two of the four sides have new stands now. If the cameras were facing the John Fiorini stand then that is one of the old ones where they do the hospitality. Behind that stand is a large car park and a couple of fields with horses in. The road (Hayes Lane) is approx 200-300 yds away from the ground itself. I'd recommend a visit if it's on your radar. Broomfields Bar (inside) is excellent and they do half price drinks 1230-1330 on a Saturday game and food is also half decent. The outside bar called Bear Island has plenty of room and seating. Me and my 4 mates were getting five pints for just over £15 so we were drinking quickly
.They have plans for the next two stands in the near future so fingers crossed they keep progressing, albeit not at a speed which is unmanageable. The club is being very well run by a brilliant Chairman, excellent CEO and a Manager who has excellent traits barring his red card yesterday ![]() |

Thanks HoratioNelson, it's good to see a progressive side making good and gaining enthusiastic fans, I wish them well. Unfortunately I don't even get to see my local team Solihull Moors and Bromley is much too far for me to travel now. Some of my friends and neighbours are Birmingham City fans and you have to be resilient to have supported them over the years. After the euphoria of last season they have become disgruntled by the turn of events this season and the posts of Blues fan Stocks seem to reflect this and are authentic.
Good luck to your team this season. |

Massive Spoons pub opposite Train Station and Police Station, will be chaos when they get bigger gates
![]() ![]() |

Thanks Foin. Your lot were class at Wembley and I wish you all the very best
![]() String.....we normally meet there and end up in there after the game most days....yesterday we met at the club for the half price hour. We did end up there post game and sank a right few whiskey gingers which the spoons had on some sort of a deal....it was busy. I can't see us in League 1 anytime soon but if we were trouble is a huge rarity at our place. We know our place and we are just grateful how well we are doing. The fan base is young and growing but obviously has the die hards from many moons ago and pre my time. They are class and full of banter and the club make sure they are heavily involved. It's a real community based family feel club. Would love us to be packed out for our now approx 5500-6000 capacity considering how much above our weight we are currently punching but i'm sure that will come. |

Harrogate V Crewe today. This is a difficult one to predict. Crewe probably have the edge but Harrogate have home advantage and are capable of springing a surprise (better not dwell on that). Maybe a draw though I won't be betting on the match result. I don't think there will be a lot of goals but I'm wary of backing under 2.5 even though it's more likely. I feel that 1.37 is generous for under 3.5 goals so I've gone for that as a less volatile option.

With the 2-1 home win against Notts County, Crewe Alexandra went back to winning ways following 5 winless matches in the league. The team has lost 4 of their last 8 matches in League Two. Crewe Alexandra stats show the team has picked up an average of 1.60 points per league game since the beginning of the season.
Their form stats indicate that in the last 8 league matches the team's points per game value has been averaging 1.25, which is 21.9% lower than their current season's average. |

With the 0-1 away win at Gillingham, Harrogate Town have recorded their second consecutive win and have kept a clean sheet in their last 2 games in the league. The team has lost 4 of their last 8 matches in League Two. Harrogate have scored an average of 1.10 goals per game since the beginning of the season in the league. As for Harrogate's current form, the form statistics indicate an average number of goals scored per game of 0.88 in the last 8 league matches, which is 20% lower than their current season's average.
i think your call seems very sensible foin allbeit a very stingy price....but a win is a win prob be a 0-0 or 1-1 draw gl |

Thanks for your analysis, The Dragon. I try to avoid roll of the dice situations as I don't need the adrenaline rush and wouldn't normally bet on a game like this.

No margin for error with that one. Turned out to be a good evening with On the Hoy's tip as well.
