This was passage that was sent out yesterday from The Sun.

Here’s a neat little trick. If you’ve got three strikers in your XI then you could bring in a fourth for Gameweek 11 by recruiting Mikel Merino (£3.5m). The Spain international is classified as a midfielder but is likely to be deployed as an emergency target man when Arsenal travel to Sunderland on Saturday.

Merino replaced the injured Viktor Gyokeres (£5.4m) at half time last weekend and led the line at Slavia Prague in midweek, with tremendous results. The 29-year-old bagged a brace in the Czech capital. Merino has an excellent record when asked to play up top and he’s been prolific at international level this calendar year with eight goals in as many games.

I admit this strategy is short sighted as reports suggest Gyokeres and Kai Havertz (£4.2m) will be available after the break. But if you recruit Merino now and sell him before the Gameweek 12 deadline, not only will you back the league leaders’ starting striker at the Stadium of Light, you’ll almost certainly be able to sell him for a tidy profit.

If that’s too wacky for your taste then you should consider Declan Rice (£5.1m) and Bukayo Saka (£6.3m), both solid long-term picks. The pair are ranked sixth and eighth respectively among midfielders after juicy double-digit hauls in Gameweek 10. Arsenal assets are all the rage right now and with good reason.

Honcho agree re: Cherki,

I've taken the plunge and brought him in and am starting him hoping that he plays against Liverpool, his injury has held him back but he was bought in the hope that it would be him who is the player to fill the void left by KDB, in his brief appearances so far he appears to be an assist magnet and a big playmaker and his stats in France support this, both Pep and Haaland have lavished high praise on him, think he could be the next big thing during the next few weeks in fantasy land, really hope he starts!!!

I'm gonna give Mbeumo the C... I see a wide open game at Spurs who may well be jaded from midweek exploits... Is Gordon and Ndiaye crocked? I'm certain Gordon is and Ndiaye might be... Gordon out Rice in...

David Moyes confirmed that Iliman Ndiaye and is fit and has trained as normal.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson remain out.

What about a 1 week punt on Moreno (v Sunderland) and captain?

Done Excited, although as a Sunderland fan I hope the highest scoring Arsenal player only gets 2pts max (That would be heaven!)

My earlier hit (took a -8) - week 9 was not a good start on getting those 8 points back:
Foden to Saka 1 v 3 = + 2
Gakpo to Enzo 2 v 2 = 0
Konsa to Chalobah 8 v 1 = - 7

Week 10 was better, except I had Chalobah on the bench Cry
Foden to Saka 4 v 3 = - 1
Gakpo to Enzo 3 v 2 = - 1
Konsa to Chalobah 1 v 7 = + 6

So I'm now net -9 on the hit with 2 weeks to go.

Shirley you'd be delighted if Sunderland scored
one more than arsenal and your arsenal players all scored.

3 5 2  This week.  Modest goalie but better of the two.  Arsenal Chelsea defence - chance of shutout, assist and goal points.  Core of midfield “Team of the Season” and Haaland and Matata ( scoring freely, hat tricks not out of the question ) up front.
Have an hour to mull over captaincy - but am toying going with Mateta in the hope that he scores more than Haaland.  He does appear to be in a rich vein of form.
Regrets and moans later.  Laugh  G/L all - hope your picks all playe and last 60 mins., at the very least.  Grin

Nice to see you’ve made a couple of transfers, BB, and used your bench boost nicely. Ten points from Cullen alone is great.

I’m hoping we are in a coin flip, Duffy. Could do with a Haaland shut out!

We are really in a coin flip Kenbo, thought I'd take a chance and make Gabriel captain which back fired, one thing for sure is we've both got a bit of catching up to do this weekGrin

Increddibles has been busy overnight kidnapping Marc Guehi who is consequently not in Palace's squad today allowing Increddibles to slide a 15 point Keane into his starting 11.

The FPL need to get on top of this sort of thing and introduce a penalty to all players found guilty of kidnapping and such like in order to improve their team.Angry

That is a stroke of luck. Only happens to other people!

Well worth a punt making Gabriel captain. Didn’t work out this time but when it does you’re a genius!

Over thinking it becomes a curse, BB. Don’t go there.

I’m conceding defeat on three Arsenal defenders. Timber is going and Saka is going back in after (another) the international break.

I like the play of this Burnley striker who scored yesterday.  Only £5.3 m. but will he get the ammunition needed?  Might consider him in the near future.
I know exactly what you mean.  It is a good description.  Curse.
Mateta for a hat-trick today to over-ride the Haaland factor.

Right guys, we need to rethink our strategy of giving advice to people who are already kicking are ar5e .

Last week Bish Bosher didn't even know what chips were. Just bagged 41 points from a bench boost Plain

In all seriousness, good pick on choosing Henderson as replacement for Alisson. I think he got 2 bonus so a 9 pointer bagged.

It’s been a tough week for most, Emit. At least you picked a decent captain.

That was a close one, Duffy. It’s a small mercy but I’m gonna take it. Two substitutions just before the hour mark cost you the draw.

Trying to beat Haaland is like trying to hold back the tide.  I’d like to know just what Brighton did to stop Palace so thoroughly.  60% possession throughout.
Times are hard!  Laugh
