It seems harder to create a 'template' team this year, as there's always players I'm leaving out when building my squad. That said, I think the cheap midfielders around 6.5m are good enough to fund my front three of haaland, watkins, and isak. Then again, I'm now thinking about an early wildcard, so who knows Laugh

Nice one, Lifter. Cool

Often some of those cheaper players turn out to be a bargain come the end of the season. It’s just finding them that’s the problem! I may be playing an early wildcard if Haaland gets off to a flyer.

Haaland or No Haaland?
By:

Isak is in 55% of teams
Watkins in 53%
Haaland in 36%.

Palmer 52%
Saliba 41
Gordon 36
Salah 35
Eze 33
Gvadiol 33

Run with pack or avoid...

No Haaland for me but, that could change.

It's easy to get out of haaland, hard to get him in
if you don't start with him... Use chip or multi transfers.

Haaland can run riot if defences are not properly organised but I think most teams have the lanky streak of p!ss sussed.

Much depends on citeh being in a race with somebody too.

If they don't have to play him, then likely he's deployed
in Europe etc.

He could easily bang in 40+ goals, but likely he needs
to get near 40 to justify fantasy price.

And if Haaland doesn't play for whatever reason you are left fielding a 3rd rate team

100%...

Need to be captaining him most weeks to get any value
for the 15 mill.

Barring Salah and Haaland it’s a pretty average side. It costs so much getting them both in the team that there isn’t much left to play with. As you say though, it’s easy to transfer them out, not so easy to transfer them in.

I think you need 66 points a game week to be competitive...
2500 points. 6 per player per game

Around 2,800 won last season so average of 6.66 per player per game.

In my 2 years I got

2022/23    2515pts    129,556
2023/24    2238pts    1,700,904

I was more experimental last year and zigged when I should have zagged
and blew my chips...

There’s normally a few surprise players each season. They can score a few points for you before everyone else catches on. It almost gets to the stage where everyone has the same six players and you’re relying on your fringe players to make any progress.

Are you in the leagues, YHTL?
By:
----you-have-to-laugh---
When: 07 Aug 24 19:31
I'm not in these leagues, nothing personal, but happy to chat via forum as long as it lasts.

Finding Foden and Palmer last year was key.

I got Palmer quick enough but not having Foden was one of my zigs.

Why not join them?  You’re on here discussing it, there’s two leagues with people from here in them. There’s forum bragging rights up for grabs!
By:

I'll leave the bragging rights, linking social media accounts
never works well.

When: 07 Aug 24 20:18
More or less, yes.

Too many idiots on social media.

If I use a different name then my friends wont
know who I am!

And I don't want to set up a new team, one is enough.
By:
s.kenbo
When: 07 Aug 24 20:23
That’s fair enough.

I really can’t see the dozen or so people on here wanting to google your name and try to find you on social media though. By the sounds of it you’re too old to be using that rubbish anyway!

There was a lad on here, a Newcastle fan, he got stalked by a Sunderland fan
who trolled him all over the place.

People have families, and it just ain't worth it.

Yep, I know, nobby, as above.

I doubt any of the people on this thread would be stalkers
indeed I'm fairly certain of that, a bit of banter
is fine, it's give and take.

But their are some utter nutters.

We had a little email circle to share info, and
two of the lads used their normal email address.

Both were trolled by somebody else who pretended
to be a Sunderland fan.

The forum can be read by folk not posting, and there
are loads of nutters around.
You can laugh, and mock, but having seen 3 instances
starting from this forum I'm just not playing into
their little games.

Still happy to chat.
