Of all those my top recommendation would be The Jinx as it's a unique documentary style on a still live case as it's unfolding, of a fascinating, bewildering and unbelievable true crime(s)

9th October... BBC.

The four-part series will trace the life of Jimmy Savile.

I agree the Saville documentary should be interesting. He seemed to have the BBC and Thatcher around his little finger in the 1970s and 80s, despite being a predatory paedophile and sex offender. Hard to believe the bloke was made governor of Broadmoor Prison.

If people have not seen it - Oppenheimer is a fantastic film. (its about people, humanity, science and politics and it was real).

Oppenheimer is top of my list when it starts streaming. Not sure I can stomach another documentary on Saville though, especially covered by the organisation that endorsed him.

i recently watched a series from 1975..when the boat comes in.......set in the north east based around soldiers coming home from the first world war...specifically jack ford...played by James Bolam...and the working class struggles and upper class opportunities introduced into the storylines....its on uktv play and if you have sky its on drama but not featured on demand so you have to search then sky plus one episode then the complete two series are found on available now......

Watched Prisoners last night, which I'd recommend. Hadn't fancied it before (knew it was about kidnapping and torturing and it put me off) but only lately realised who the director was. But yeah, it's dead good.

Watching this "Boiling Point" starring Stephen Graham.

All about the pressures building inside a busy restaurant kitchen....brilliant, the tension comes right through the telly, haven't finished watching yet but I reckon one really horrible customer is going to get deckedLaughShocked

Not everyone's cup of tea (sister didn't like it) but I thought Manchester By The Sea was a great film, superbly acted, especially the scene where they bump into each other in the street... I'll say no more. A tale of grief, beyond imagination.

The BBC are a Media company. No media company had much of a HR department back in the 70s, 80s or 90s. People used to get away with all sorts. Harvey Weinstein, Bill Wyman, Gary Glitter, Stuart Hall to name a few.

Even today people are still trying to excuse Russel Brand's behaviour. Just look at some of Eastbourne Adolf's posts.

On Yellowstone.. I purchased the box set last year and ploughed through series 1.. Started to really enjoy it but began at some point to feel like I was watching Dallas (a little soapy) imo.... I intended to start series 2 but just never got round to it.

Have you watched 1883 and 1923, they are the pre cursors to it, waiting for the second season of 1923 before watching yellowstone, 1883 especially is excellent, anything with Sam Elliott in usually is after all.

I'm like that with almost every series I try to watch. You can count on one hand those that I've finished, which includes Sopranos no less. These days I seldom get into a series unless it is only 2, 3 or occasionally 4 series deep. 20+ minute comedy shows are the exception, as they provide good time-fillers.

Last night I got myself into 2 films. The first was the Netflix-advertised 'Lucky Logan', a poor man's Ocean's Eleven, but still entertaining and quite funny in places. I followed this up with 'Before I go to sleep' which wasn't too bad, but not quite up to the excellent 'Memento' which I would definitely add to this list.

Requiem for a Dream. Not a feel-good movie though.

Started this sofa but couldn't get into it and gave up, however; it is quite highly rated so maybe I was just not in the mood, so will give it another go when stuck for something to watch.

Try Bosch or Bored to Death

At only 3 series I might give Bored to Death a few episodes to start with. Read that Ted Danson is a scene stealer.

With Yellowstone, I tried two or three times to get into it but the combination of Mirren and Costner together literally left me stone cold. I got halfway through the second episode and had to draw stumps.

You're all good, Emi. Like always, when visiting any of these type of sites, just make sure you have good adblocker extension installed to your browser. I recommend AdGuard, but any other top rated one will do. Also, sometimes the volume on these sites can prove to be a little low, so it's good to have some type of volume booster extension installed. I recommend 1 called Volume Master. It has a slider that allows an increase in volume of up to 600%! Very handy.
