"This movie is typically tough to find on any streaming service. My suggestion is if you can find it trust me its worth the $3.99 for a rental. I never like to give out 5 stars for a movie but I cant give this film a score that's any lower. Almost none of the characters in this movie are innocent but you don't need innocent characters to make an enjoyable movie.

Interesting title, Interesting premise played out in a non-traditional way filled with interesting characters. Go find this gem from 20 years ago when the clock strikes 11:14 press the play button..

Is that your review, Pro or one you’ve found?

I have to say 11:14 is one of those films you really enjoy but don’t expect anybody else to have watched it.

Come on kenny, you should know it ain't mine when there's talk of "paying for a movie". What kind of fool does that!? Laugh It was just the the top one I found on top of the G reviews. I've never heard of the movie before but it looks interesting enough for me to watch some time later on. I see a young Pope(Animal Kingdom) features in it! Happy

I’ve never seen Animal Kingdom (have watched the Aussie film) but I was pretty sure you meant Shawn Hatosy. A very underrated/under used actor. My missus has just finished it in the last couple of weeks. The joys of working from home, one eye on the iPad the other on the computer screen!

"A very underrated/under used actor." No doubt. He is simply incredible in Animal Kingdom. Sometimes actors get gifted a plum role. This was his for sure.

Good thread ... I'm glad that I looked in.

Spent many a time looking for a decent film to watch.... 20 odd thousand to choose from and not knowing where to start looking.

I will check out one or two recommended on here after the racing has finished

A very good read if you are interested is Where the Crawdads sing by Delia Owens.

Again, the film does not do it justice.

1883, 1923, prequels to Yellowstone are brilliant, 1883 especially so.

yeah, it's a good film that. Seemed to slip out with no fanfare but very solid.

Cheers wormy. Never heard of that series. Looks good Cool How does it stack up against The Shield?
By:
.Marksman.
When: 28 Sep 23 15:40
I particularly liked The Shield.  It had an edge to it:  It was filmed on location in rough neighborhoods and locals in these areas were often given bit parts in scenes.  They filmed each scene twice in completely different ways and then just went with the one which worked best.  The strike team actors became buddies in real life and consequently gave any newcomers to the team a hard time, in the story and real life.
I like the way the Vic MACKAY character could be under investigation for the murder of a fellow cop (which he did), do loads of awful things and yet still do better (or more effective) police work than anyone else.  Contradictions make these shows more interesting.

Indeed, Marky. For me it'll be tough for any cop show to get close to The Shield. I watched it when it first aired and then rewatched for 2nd time not too long ago. Very Shocked and saddened to hear one of the cop actors went on to murder his wife!

"With the boys watching from their bedroom, he shot and killed April, telling her "if you like running, then run to heaven." Crazy Jace told the detectives he fired the first shot, and then after April fell, he intentionally shot April in the legs so, as a talented runner, she would feel some of his pain."

Watched that a few years ago and also enjoyed it. One of the players was reputed to be Toby Maguire.

Just finished Hell or High Water, but half way through I realised I'd seen it before. Released in 2016, during my heavy drinking days, I'm not surprised I'd forgotten. That's the beauty of watching films when intoxicated, most of them you can watch again and it's like watching it for the first time. Grin

We watched the Hijack series and seemed to spend most of the time shouting at the screen "why would you do that?!".. through every twist and turn.. Laugh We both enjoyed it but agreed it was a bit ****! Happy

Leaving Las Vegas and Molly's Game both fall into the Superb category.. imo.

I thought Hatton was on Netflix? cant find it.. Blush

If you haven't seen the series Breaking Bad, it's very good and ideal for binge watching.

A bit dated nowadays and most will probably have seen it but I just got around to watching one of the top-rated IMDB series of all time ... Band of Brothers. A true account of Easy Company's gruelling journey through basic training, D-Day and the subsequent battles to free Europe 1944-45. Watching the introductions of each programme where the original survivors gave their individual accounts of these battles is riveting. Also helps if you Google Easy Company and read up some of the background before you watch.

A little tip for all you movie buffs out there. Disney+ has a whole host of movies, not (legally) available anywhere else. They have all the Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, Classic Movies and so much more and I feel that their recent offer cannot be ignored if offered again, which was £1.99pm for the first three months AND you can cancel at any time!

Unfortunately this offer ended on 20th September, before this thread began, but I'm sure we'll see a similar offer again, especially with Christmas on the horizon. I'll try to keep you informed if I see it again, but worth keeping an eye on yourselves if you are not already a subscriber. You'll certainly get your money's worth.

Another film I really enjoyed was Monster. Charlize Theron won the Oscar for her superb portrayal of the serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Thoroughly deserved imo.

Cant think of a movie with Denzel Washington or Tom Cruise that I didn't enjoy.. (not seen either Top Guns).. Looking forward to the Equalizer 3...

Most of the Alien franchise are right up my street, especially.. Alien: Covenant.

I do try not to bore you chaps but Get a Firestick!! 1500 of the latest movies, all the sports channels and movie channels live Boxing! PPV'S. An absolute horrific Adult section Which Mrs Deb has blocked.. Last time I looked Sky were trying to sell me Barbie for £20!!! Crazy

Sergio Leone's 'A Fistful of Dynamite' (also given the awful title 'Duck, you Sucker'), always gets overlooked by film buffs, but is in my top 5 of all time - maybe even top 3. I originally stumbled across it while channel-hopping and just couldn't stop watching. Rod Steiger stole the show for me, but it's just a great movie.

Warning: This trailer is pretty corny (well, it WAS 1971!) and contains mini-spoilers.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EccOlGxfwJI

As duffy said 1883 is very good.

My favourites are the Bosch series and Bored To Death.

Other than those TV is universally rubbish.

1883 is absolutely outstanding. It's up there with the very best of any series I've ever seen. 10/10 job.
