Ok, I watched The Substance in its entirety. Bizarre movie but based on a true story...apparently.

Time 3 BBC. If you've seen the first 2 then you know what you're getting. Written by Jimmy McGovern, another hard hitting drama, this time set inside a young offenders prison. Starring David Tennant and Siobhan Finneran. Its grim
but a 9/10 from me. |

-------- Watched series 1 and it's excellent. |

I managed to finish "East Of Eden" after dipping in and out over a two week period.
I did like it although it finished off rather weakly I thought after a strong first few episodes. Mainly due to the lesser coverage of the lead role, Cathy. No denying that Florence Pugh is an excellent actor and she did basically carry the series alone. I'd score it a 6.5/10 and it's well worthy of a viewing. |

I'm watching series 1 of Fargo. Must have been mentioned on here before and surprised I'd not come across it. Black comedy crime adventure.

down to the final episode of East of Eden, agree with you Slippy, it started off very promising but went off in a different direction that I thought it would and less appealing and became rather dull. Overall its very watchable, 6/6.5 be about right.
The first 2 or 3 series of Fargo are as good as it gets when it comes to TV - enjoy Clydebank |

Just finished the 5th and final Series of "Southland" and it knocks spots off the other Cop shows the likes of NYPD Blue and Chicago PD and The Shield etc....how they let this finish after 5 seasons is a mystery as it was literally getting better each series unlike some of the ones mentioned earlier. Highly recommended. Top recommendation this. Really enjoyed it and yes, think the final season was brilliant. Definitely worth a look if like me, it had somehow passed you by. |

Was recommended True Detective Season 1 starring Matthew McConaughy and Woody Harrelson and have to say it really is terrific. Eight hour-long episodes currently on HBO but originally made in 2014. There have been 3 or 4 subsequent seasons but general consensus it that season one is the canine's testicles. IMDB have it at 8.8/10 I'll round it up to 9/10.

Agreed, for the first series of T.D. it's a solid 9/10 with the thumb.
Absolutely outstanding. |

First series is best by a country mile.

This City is Ours
The plotting is convoluted but predictable and the lead actor is beyond teak. |

The City Is Ours series 2. Very formulaic yet watchable. That's about it.
|

It's an absolute pi$$er.
I've been reading and contributing to this forum since the beginning. It's just a part of my day when I'm in between races etc to have a gander at the threads. ![]() I watched "Tony" yesterday. I did like it and it's well worth seeing but R.T. giving a 93% rating was a bit OTT. I'd say 7/10 would be able right. |

Nocturne on Apple tv stars Stephen Graham as a serial killer. Seems like it might be decent. 2 episodes released yesterday, 1 a week til Nov 27, 6 in total.
