Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story On Netflix..I've watched 3 of the 8.. I'm tempted to say Awful but I am compelled to see where we're going with this.. I'll report back. Gave up on it.. If the show isn't entertaining me or intriguing me, why bother!?

Yeah me too, also gave up on Ed Gein (same series). Maximise the gore, stray into gratuitous, plus quirky, adding up to gawping at a freak show.

The Lizzie Borden monster was the worst so far. Managed to get to the end but ridiculous sub plots/stories made it hard work. The French book the most insufferable. Surely they could have found a better subject than this? Was always going to be difficult to do a whole series from a double murder. On a plus point, the soundtrack was pretty good.

I enjoyed the Menendez brothers adaptation. Gave up on the Ed Gein one after two episodes. Not even gonna try and watch the Liz Borden one.

The Heiress (1949) directed by William Wyler.
Flicked onto it the other day on ch4 and Ralph Richardson was immediately mesmerising.
Olivia De H also brilliant.
Gets 100% on rotten tomatoes.
Available online on 4.
It’s superbly acted.

Yah it did hit the buffers a bit in series 2, but after a slow start to series 3 it really picked up and it all came together at the end.

Compared to many modern day comedy stuff, it didn’t really try that hard to be funny, just let the characters and storyline keep you entertained.

All in all a refreshing bit of TV even with a mid season blip.

Paradise. Thriller/ Sci - Fi. 2 seasons. A few really decent episodes in this but overall not really buying into or taking to many of the characters. Shame, had potential. Too many seasons/ episodes 8/10 for the good episodes 5 or 6 for the rest
His and Hers. Netflix Thriller. Pacey 6 episodes. Take it with a pinch or 2 of salt not bad 6/10

Poor Things (2023).. werbie said, he thought about walking out after 10 minutes... After 10 minutes I was raising my voice and swearing at the tv in disgust! (no joke)... Bit too arty for me, almost like an X rated Tim Burton movie.. Watched it through though.. Did it entertain me? Not really.. There was some morbid fascination. I can see the appeal to some I suppose. Steady on with the 4.5 out of 5... you'll leave yourself no where to go. 2.5 from me.

Like I said, not going to be everyone's cup of tea. A brave film, shocking ,well acted, laugh out loud Laugh. If there's a better film this year then I look forward to it

I said I did a double header last weekend, Bugonia & Poor Things and that's about it.

Can recommend 'Wasteman' to those who like a gritty and brutal prison drama. It's a British indie film that has 100% on rotten tomatoes. Prison guards say it's as close to life inside a a present day prison as your going to get. Not the fainthearted mind, it's no Porridge. I saw this at the Cinema a good few months ago but I see it's streaming on Netflix now.

I thought the Substance was decent but recommend skipping the last half hour where it went downhill sharply.
