Really disappointing. That Italy side was ordinary and there for the taking, but England were much too negative and allowed the game to go to extra time and penalties. A European Championship is a not a World Cup, but it doubtful that they are going to get a much better chance than that. I wouldn't dwell on the penalties because if you get that far anything can happen. You have to make sure it doesn't go that far.

Chckenshít tactics from Southgate. After England scored I thought England looked like getting a second for about 15 mins. Then invited Italy onto them, gradually they obliged. Took Italy til early second half to realise England had no interest in a second

Jermaine Jenas is the worst pundit I've ever seen, no experience, no insight. The women know more about the men's pro game than him

If it goes to pens you need to
strike it better than that. Had rashford scored, the Italian cant roll it down middle, maybe the 4th and 5th pen takers are a little more confident too. Big moment, missing the goal by rashford. |

I'm sorry but if it goes to penalties then that is part of the players resume to perform under pressure and to score from a spot, it should be drilled into them from day dot. You would never see Ronaldo buckle to pressure. Money has ruined these yound lads heads, they should be made to do two years in the army before becoming footballers to install some qualities needed to be able to perform under pressure
