Remember Murray in the 2012 Olympics
He was riding a wave all the way through and comfortably won it Hopefully from a laying point it doesn't happen |

Wouldn't lay England tbh but wouldn't be a bettor @the current odds either though. What price a draw

Of course England would be fav in the final, 1.85 ish probably as big as could be.
Only way they wouldn't be is if their opponents had just won quarters and semis by 3 or 4 goals each. None of them look good enough to do that. |
By:
I'll be laying them again I'm sure but that passage left to the final is somewhat... bare
By:
England do have the look of the team who could improve, depending on Southgate. But apart from the last 15mins today and a decent half hour against the Czechs they have been **** e, Imvho.
By:
come on 3.3 is got to be one of the best lays you see in a long while
Everyone said they were a lay at pre tournament odds, but you'd be laughing now with a juicy free bet. |
By:
If England were playing Italy/Belgium/Spain at Wembley next game they would certainly be favs.
By:
If England had have played any of those today they would have been toast. A poor German team was beaten today.
By:
Lets just say the Semi Final line up is this
Belgium - Swiss England - Czechs England would be odd on on here and we know it, massive odds on as well Even England - Denmark Italy - Spain Would make England 2.2 odd? |
By:
No more like 2.5-2.6
By:
Ah cheers tober
By:
Of course at the semi final stage they will be that. Come final though anyone taking odds on a bang average English team needs sectioned. 2.2 even with Denmark to pass wouldn't interest me either, the Danes on the counter are deadly and Harry and co will be found out eventually at the back. Which team is anyone's guess and it could well be the Danes or if not I will be shocked if Italy etc... Do not.
By:
"Also Spain have to be clear favs to make final from other half. "

England will prefer the Czechs to the Danes

I think England would have more trouble beating Denmark than Spain. Spain are poor at the back and nearly every goal they got against Croatia was a gift. That Gvardiol lad is like a Sunday league defender and Morata needs as many chances as Werner to score. Could see England scoring more than once from set pieces against them alone. Laporte and Garcia are poor defenders, good ball players. Don't know how that Garcia lad gets a game, he played about 10 games last season and he's an even weaker link than Laporte.
Enrique only brought 24 players and you are allowed 26. Could have brought Nacho from Real and even Ramos just for his presence if not fit. Doesn't seem to like Thiago either and they could have done with him the other day. Seems he has his favourites. Croatia were awful and still pushed them all the way and dominated them when they needed goals late on. |

"A poor German team was beaten today." All teams other than the Jocks we have played , have caused massive problems for other teams
None of them ever looked like beating us Perhaps many are under estimating ,including myself , how decent we actually are ..And of course we will have the usual anti English seethers adding their comments . |
By:
Its not really the underestimating its the fact England will be coming back "home" IF they beat Ukraine and will be coming back to a country getting properly behind them
That energy can drive a tornado, that worries me It seems the country is just starting to get behind them ![]() |
By:
96 was the last time it felt like this and they would have done it if Gazza had got an extra inch on his studs
![]() |
By:
Gareth will **** it up
other than Sterling and Grealish England don't create much, and one of them only plays 20 minutes a match |
By:
Ukraine have players that can hurt England: Zinchenko, Yarmolenko and Yaremchuk
all in form and scoring, hopefully not knackered (I will be laying England) |
By:
Shevchenko should dust his boots off

^Tbf this is a bang average German side by their standards and everything supports that. They were nearly out at the hands of Hungary less than a week ago on their own patch. Their results for about 3 years now have been very average, it was only about 6 months ago they lost 6-0 to Spain.
It's a good win for England because England have this record of hardly every beating any good teams in knockout football, but it's a win that on paper England should be achieving currently. |

Yeah Germany are pretty bad.
When they went out in the group stage 3 years ago that was supposed to be the end of Muller and Hummels, Low said as much afterwards. They are still starting past their best because no players coming through. |
By:
you're not going to play Spain

I think they do have some decent players coming through, maybe not enough. Not particularly familiar with CB options, but attacking option wise there's a few. Not sure Muller should actually still be playing anyway. I assume the 5 at the back from them is designed to cover up defensive frailties and eg. Hummels lack of pace, but not sure it particularly suits them going forward. Gundogan would fit into the team if it was more 4-3-3, and a front 3 of Gnabry, Havertz, Werner would seem much more fluid than what they had today. Gnabry especially seems to be used quite badly this tournament from how they are playing.
By:
Also realistically Low should have gone after the world cup, his era was over then. Not sure his game management was too hot today, waited way too long to make subs. Musiala changed the game when he come on vs Hungary, he got about 2 minutes tonight? Not sure I'd have even taken Werner off in first place, he can normally look quite dangerous even if he doesn't take the chances, Muller was offering them nothing even before he fluffed the chance of the match.
It's certainly not the best German side ever, but I think Flick will get more out of them to make them more of a threat at the world cup next year. Was generally very impressed with his time at Bayern and how he had them playing, think they were very unfortunate with how this year panned out in CL with both injuries and just getting unlucky generally over the 2 legs vs Bayern combo'd with a Neuer howler all led to their demise. |
By:
Also kinda a rarity in this era as it seems these days most international managers are basically failed club managers, or club managers on the downwards slope.

No "seething" here.
England deserved their win and I believe they do underestimate themselves. This win will go a long way to sorting that. This is a cracking squad, so adaptable and interchangeable but with several top, top class players. In fact I'd go so far as to suggest it is the best English squad I've seen for over fifty years! They can win this alright. |
By:
I don't understand the praise for this England squad
other than Sterling who in the starting XI compares favourably with players from Italia 90 or euro 96? |
By:
Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Owen, Beckham, even Sven was working with better players
By:
Don't think it's the best England squad by any stretch, but a lot of the players are nowhere near their prime yet.
Their defence isn't the greatest but is well protected. They don't try to play too much when they don't have the midfielders to control the game. They are playing not to get beaten or to concede the first goal, which is smart in a KO tournament and something better England squads didn't do as well but a lot of them went out on penalties too. The likes of Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Brazil aren't as strong as usual. France too in this comp. And they've had very lucky draws. They don't only have home advantage but also travel advantage which is unique to this tournament and is an important factor too. Denmark have to play in Baku and then Wembley 4 days later. Baku is a ridiculous place for a quarter-final. Not very fair overall but you play the hand you're dealt. They will be very hard to beat at Wembley in all the circumstances. |
By:
Better players maybe, but not a better squad. imo. Just look at how happy the ones are who aren't playing! The team ethic in this squad is unique - not a club clique in sight.
By:
Ukraine are tripe, and the Czech's (whom I believe we'll face) should be straightforward enough.
It's if you feel England to overcome Belgium in the final @ 3.3 is value, imo. |
By:
Would just be like England to fluff this opportunity. In their minds they are already playing Spain/Italy in the final.
By:
If England are to win the competition then much will depend on Sterling retaining his excellent form.
By:
Last night was England's final. This morning, the only news is the game and expectation is for England to saunter into Rome, steamroller Ukraine and surf the positive energy to the final.
I think Saturday's game is made for Ukraine. Great price to qualify, or win 1-0. |
By:
laid 6.2 pre games laid 6 before germany game laid 3.35 after game strange no one come on and said what good things they are when they went to 10t1 still at 3.2 i think it's madness
