I'd have dearly loved Scotland to beat them and to be fair in an even game I thought Scotland were slightly the better of the two. But come on England are a major footballing nation with about 40 million people to choose from. Scotland are ........... well Scotland let's be honest with 4 million to choose from. |
|
By:
Yeah to be fair they haven't played anyone decent but there's only 1 decent side in this tournament and that's Italy who might be getting tired by the final having come through the toughest side of the draw
Speaking sense and not having taking the pi*s here England wont get a better chance than this, the final being at home as well |
|

Croatia 4 mil to chose from, World Cup semi finalist in 98, World Cup runners up 2018, Modric Balon Do'r winner
the country is only 30 years old. |

All they can do is beat what's put in front of them but blimey bar Germany it's all been very easy draws. Meanwhile on the other side Belgium knock out Portugal then Italy knock out Belgium. Southgate could play the Under 14's and they'd give Denmark a game. Shame how one sided the draw's been. |
|
By:
after looking at denmark they are not that bad, they beat england in there last meeting and have only really lost to belgium 2-1,the loss to finland was disgusting as they should never had been asked to restart on the day,i still think england will win but its not as easy as i first thought
|
|
By:
They are defensively a very good and well organised team, it will definitely be a lot closer, feels like a 0-0 or 1-0 either side sort of scoreline, they can beat England if they defend as well and nick a goal on the counter, but in terms of actual quality, there's not much there, like an old fashioned British side imo.

Yes Denmark have a chance obviously but 2/5 to qualify England and 5/2 against Denmark shows the expectancy between them. England finally play a god team in The Final ............. at Wembley! Talk about luck and great draw with home advantage thrown in just for good measure. |
|
By:
you would defo take denmark in a semi final and we have been lucky with the draw in this competition and the world cup but i am not dismissing denmark as much after looking at them

WALOFS The draw was decided by the placing of the teams in their groups, and not many gave England a chance against the Germans. |

And to qualify for the next World Cup Final stages England have in their group A Hollywood Eleven, The Metropolitan Police over 45's and The Wheeltappers and Shunters Club All Stars.

So the Jocks would have qualified if their matches were played at Hampdem Park then?
|

You say not many gave England a chance against The Germans yet England were favourites to beat an out of sorts German side so how can you say that? I know the draw was all above board but are you HONESTLY saying England haven't had a ridiculously easy draw? Same at the last world cup. All the good teams knocking each other out whilst England coasted into the Semi's playing nobody! |
|
By:
Tiger
No Scotland wouldn't have qualified if the tourney was played at Hampden Park I'm not saying they would. Scotland are a very ppor side that home advantage would make very little difference. |
|
By:
England have both Poland and Hungary
in world cup qualies group. Albania, San maranio and andorra make up the group. |
|
By:
You cant choose who you play ffs.
|
|
By:
No game is easy

Poland and Hungary??? WOW how will they beat them, such fabulous top nations!

I'm not saying you can choose who you play and it's all above board I know. I'm asking you though do you agree that both in the last World Cup and this Euros England have had ridiculously easy draws? |
|
By:
Scotland have
Denmark, Israel, austria Pharaoh Islands, and Moldova. Not that much different. There are many poor teams in europe compared to the top teams. Problem is always getting inti no 1 seed pot. |
|
By:
Maybe we should have got Moldova and the Faroes in our group?
|
|
By:
Tiger
You didn't answer my question?? |
|
By:
No, there are no easy draws, look at Croatia? Did they have an easy draw?
|
|
By:
Where are England in terms of other teams
If Germany and Sweden are easy games then we must rank fairly high. Watching us for 50 odd years I'd say we are as good as we have ever been in world terms. Not that many teams see as as an easy game which was often the case. |
|

Tiger
Ok then fair enough that's the end of the conversation then isn't it. If you hand on heart, HONESTLY can't bare to simply admit (Everyone in the world thinks they did) have a very easy draw in the last World Cup and this Euros then there's nothing more to say. I suppose you HONESTLY think that San Marino are as greater footballing nation as Germany and Argentina too so nobody can converse with someone saying that obviously. Nice chatting. |

Belguim are no1, but the italians
totally knocked them out of their stride. It was an easy game Looking forward to see if they can do that to a team like spain Going to be a corker. |

I think England have always been difficult to beat but offer little going forward. It's always been said they lack guile and creativity. Apart from tonight they'd scored 1 0 1 and 2 |
|
By:
We've always had too much creativity
believed the hype and gone home early. |
|
By:
We had a good team in 1966
and 1970 Then again in 1990,when they said we had an easy draw... And now I think we are pretty strong and can compete. We had home advantage in 66 and 96 and again now. 96 proved home advantage alone is not enough. |
|
By:
Lou ffs, put your sensible head on eh?
The Groups for the last World Cup were done by ranking and were much of a muchness, the teams that qualified from the Groups were the ones expected too, the only surprise was Germany finishing bottom against Sweden, Mexico and South Korea, did you think that was an easy Group? ? Which Group do you think was easy? England group was no easier or harder that that of any of the seeded teams, thats the way the draw goes. |

Conversation Over. Can't 'talk' to someone on here who blatantly won't admit the truth. It's like if you were Albanian and I asked you "Do you think you will win the World Cup ext year" and rather than simply admit "Haha no of course not" you say "Yes I think we will" Can't have a conversation with that sorry. |

It's a bit like saying djokovic
has an easy draw at wimbledon because of seedings.. |
|

^ We obviously had a good group with an average Croatia, Czech's and your shower but suggesting Germany/Ukraine/Denmark/Italy or Spain is easy is taking Scottish straw clutching to sad new limits.
Maybe you stay away from this forum for the next couple of weeks, mate, I don't see it doing your mood any good... |
