Put it down to East End mentality - we accept ourselves for what we are .......... mid-table mediocrity

Come on Reynard, dont drag the whole of East London down with you.. Your OCD belongs to you. Get a grip man..

What or who is OCD please?

I heard the owners and manager have different ideas according to possible transfer targets. Hope they're wrong as they also said manager getting a little peved off with their interference.
|

By:
Wouldn't be the first time, if it is true.

Obessive Compulsive Disorder.
How can the owners be arguing over transfer targets? Outs: Carroll, Hernandez, Obiang, possibly Cresswell. Ins: A striker, defensive midfielder and a left back. I'd keep Perez if he's happy to be a squaddie. |
|
By:
Thank you injera, trying to decipher initials always a problem for me.
I would keep Obiang though. |
|
By:
I hope we get things done quick
In summer In and outs there could be a few |
|
By:
Obiang looked like he was playing for a contract at the end. Looked half decent. The rest of the time I thought he was lame. Sanchez came back from injury and looked ok.
A frontline choice of Arnie, Nasri, Anderson, Lanzini and Antonio is nice. Wilshere, fitness permitting, Noble and Rice in behind looks good too. |
|
By:
None of them can stay fit for more than 5 mins
That’s the problem Love noble and wilshere to rotate games But it won’t happen Noble can’t play twice a week that’s for sure Wilshere waste of time Yarmlenko to come back thou what I saw He can’t defend save his life Rather Antonio |

Pablo Fornals £24million from Villarreal about to be confirmed by West Ham .
Maybe you should go check your spuds page and see if they've made their first signing for two years or if they're just gonna continue with Kane , Alli and the deadwood ![]() |
|
By:
Incidentally we spent more money on our wonderful carpet than you spent on strengthening your squad in the last 18 months

Carroll, Nasri and Perez gone. Fornals in. Bloody hell Pellegrini is changing the whole nature of the club. Are the baroness and the owners aware of what's going on? COYI
|
|
By:
It was Pellegrini who brought Nasri and Perez into the club in the first place so hardly changing the whole nature, ffaith.

Lanzini could be angling for a move
![]() |
|
By:
Lanzini has looked well below form since returning from injury reynard so will not be a big loss.
|
|
By:
Was never gonna be firing on all coming back from serious injury , but shown glimpses of the old Lanzini . Contract issues apparently
![]() |
|
By:
I'm sad to see Nasri going. And Perez (if happy being a squad player) was worth keeping. Can't believe Hernandez stays - is this true?
Fornals looks very decent but who knows. |

Closing in on Maxi Gomez . Thought we showed our hand a bit soon what with all the talk in January . Still might be the case

From the London Evening Standard................
"Manchester United are eyeing a move for West Ham defender Issa Diop, reports suggest. According to Sky Sports, United are willing to pay £45m and offer a player in part-exchange in order to secure a deal for the 22-year-old French centre-back. However, it is said that West Ham absolutely do not want to sell Diop, a player who shined in his first season in English football, and would not even entertain offers below £60m. WEST HAM NEWS 1 hour ago West Ham have £29m Maxi Gomez accepted Celta Vigo have accepted a £29million for striker Maxi Gomez, according to Sky Sports. The Hammers still face a battle with Valencia for the 22-year-old's services as the Liga club have also had an offer accepted". |

Very good reynard but the mere thought of losing Diop stops me from laughing too much. When you consider some of the stupid goals we conceded last season the last thing we need is to lose Diop.
|
|
By:
I agree . What's the point of acquiring relatively unknown players who clearly have quality and/or potential only to move 'em on after just one season , profit or no profit ?
It makes no sense if the club is genuinely looking to move on to the 'next level' ![]() |
|
By:
I live near to Huddersfield these days and one of their fans remarked to me about our defending when conceding 3 at home to the terriers. He said he couldn't recall the last time they had scored 3.

Ask him the final score sparrow
![]() Seriously though, we're poor with or without Diop. But he's a real talent and it wouldn't be a surprise if he and Rice attract big offers. The full back positions are more of a concern. Most attacks come down the flanks and if you stop those the centre backs can relax. |

Apart from his injuries apparently (if you believe the media)Nasri's attitude absolutely stunk.
The dream team manager duo IMO would be Pellegrini and Moyes as his assistant. Pellegrini to give us ambition and excitement in attack and Moyes would ensure we had a solid backline. We have had a bid accepted for Gomez. Steady on Pellers we hammer supporters are set in our ways. We've been fed a diet of crap and/or mediocrity for decades. Now all a sudden there's this injection of ambition, excitement and hope. COYI If Gomez does come I have no doubt someone will be sacrificed but who? Anderson? Rice? Diop? Lanzini? Arnautovic? Best case scenario IMO we sell Arnie(never really forgiving him for the Wimbledon debacle and I suspect he's a bit of a bad influence) Worst case scenario Diop and Rice sold to Man utd in a double deal. |
|
By:
Gomez (if and when confirmed) will pave the way for the departure of Arnautovic . It's absolutely imperative that Rice & Diop stay for at least two seasons to give us any chance of that solid backbone that you speak of . The next few weeks will determine whether this 'next level' that the 3 amigos spoke of when we left the Boleyn is a real ambition or whether it was just a smokescreen .
