As for yesterday Pellegrini might well criticise the team but he himself must shoulder some blame for not picking our strongest team. We are mid table in the league and should now have had the FA Cup as our main target but congratulations to Wimbledon for a fully deserved victory.

By:
Comfortably beaten by a far better side tonight and but for Fabianski it could have been 6 or 7. First 2 conceded were from set pieces so still unable to get basic defensive tactics right.

Thank God we rested most of our first XI v Wimbledon on Saturday . We got knocked out of the FA Cup but the main thing is we only lost 3-0 rather than 7 or 8 if they'd still been tired from the weekend

Wasn't grim in the 70's/80's . Relegated every 3 or 4 years . Back up after a couple of seasons . 3 or 4 cup finals . Players who were loyal to the club whichever division we were in . Wednesday evening matches under floodlights .
Loved every minute ![]() |

At the end of the day and after 66 years of watching West Ham since the age of 6 the only really great side we had was the 84/85 team as the only ones who ever challenged for the title.

Even sports direct are showing more ambition than West Ham. They've just signed Almiron a 24 yo AM of huge potential. In the absence of lanzini who did we bring in? A 30+ drug cheat on a short term contract who breaks down the moment the ink has dried on his contract.
They've even brought in a LB on loan for good measure. LB is 1 of our problem areas but of course we do f all about it. |
|
By:
Pellegrini had a great chance to get rid of some of the poisonous chancers but he turned down bids for Obiang and Arnautovic. Arnautovic was even given a pay raise and contract extension. Surely them lingering around will not be good for team spirit. Bit disapointed with Pellegrino tbh.

Zabaleta has admitted the controversy concerning Arnautovic has unsettled the dressing room according to an article in the Evening Standard.
"Pablo Zabaleta on Wednesday revealed the extent of the disruption behind the scenes at West Ham this month which is threatening to derail their season. The Hammers produced an abject display to lose 3-0 at Wolves on Tuesday night and may now be set for another spell without Marko Arnautovic, who was on Wednesday having a scan on the foot he injured on his comeback at Molineux. Zabaleta has admitted the uncertainty around Arnautovic and his desire to move to China has had a negative impact on the team and created a bad atmosphere in the dressing room" |

Sparrow my fear is that the bad ones will unsettle the good ones. I dread to think what Anderson, Diop and Rice make of all this.
Why do clubs continually low ball us for our players? Just pay the going rate |

3.9 looks a little generous about us today.
Any thoughts on this? |

Interesting to see how Almiron gets on tonight. Lanzini's injury meant we needed to bring in someone creative in MF. We were heavily linked with Almiron a very exciting potential.
Instead as per usual we went down the cheaper, short term option. We signed Nasri. A 30 something who has broken down when we really needed him. |

Decent win last night but were very lucky early on. Could have been 3-0 down after 5 minutes.
Fulham by far the better side at times and wanted it far more. Thankfully their keeper can't catch. Very odd that Arnie didn't start. Great to see Lanzini come on. I was surprised by how sharp he looked. Rice hardly put a foot wrong again. There will be some huge offers coming in for him in the Summer. A word about the stadium. There's a real fan zone feel outside the East Stand with music, bars and food. Carlton Cole, Harewood and Collinson led the chants from a balcony above one of the bars. Great atmosphere and a lot of fun. There's so much space it can accomodate thousands before you enter the ground. Inside the ground although we were largely poor the atmosphere was good with people determined to have a good time. Looks like we've finally learnt how to win a few games over there as well. |

Good to see Manu back. Loads of fans like me have genuine admiration and respect for him. He gives us that touch of extra class.
Shocked to see he's already 26. Still time for him to fulfill his immense potential though. |

We've got plenty of talent in midfield (don't forget Yarmalenko) , just need them to gel for us COYI

Good to see a decent defensive performance for a change tonight and I will nominate Ryan Fredericks as our man of the match. Another important decision went against us tonight with that very soft penalty award but I suppose it evens out the Liverpool offside goal the other week for the title race. Anderson appears to me to be a most inconsistent player and was poor tonight.
|
|
By:
From where I was sat it looked like a nailed on penalty but having seen it again since we woz robbed .
All the negatives from those around me regarding the team he fielded proved unfounded . Made a change to see such a solid defensive performance after getting away with a couple of early errors . |

It was good to see Billy Bonds honoured in such a way yesterday as the club has not always treated him as they should have. The match was pretty easily won against a poor Newcastle side but special mentions for Diop and Rice in an all round competent performance.
