Rangers have withdrawn from the Sydney Super Cup competition in Australia where they were due to play Celtic.
Both Rangers and Celtic fans were against the game going ahead and had protested at every game since the tournament was announced. |
|
By:
Wishful thinking aka but I'll ask anyway. Where does the Europa final take place?
|
|
By:
Seville Stew. We can but hope.

thanks aka we don't have these problems at accies

Rangers will be without Alfredo Morelos for Sunday's derby with Celtic and the striker is set to miss both legs of the Europa League quarter-final with Braga.
The 25-year-old was sent home from international duty with Colombia because of a thigh injury. "Unfortunately, he won't be with us on Sunday, we won't have him back in the next couple of weeks that's for sure," said manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Couldn't have happened at a worse time. Roofe or Sakala to fill his boots? Roofe for me. |

not seen much of roofe apart from a leeds united documentary, its only action clips he looked a right good player in it.
|

Seen one unhappy Celtic supporter on twitter.
Moaning that if Brenda had remained they would be looking at 11 in a row. Looked so promising for Rangers with the Ramsey goal but we went downhill after the equaliser. We had plenty of the ball especially in the second half but we wasted it and never looked dangerous. Europa league and Scottish cup up for grabs but the league now out of sight. Hope the id1ot bottler thrower is caught. What a ****. |

usual disgraceful scenes from the great unwashed..chucking broken glass bottles on tae the pitch..classy?..no nope..
|

By:
I wonder whats got the blocked kennybhoys knickers in a twist.
|
|
By:
poor match, not a great advert for scottish football if everybodys honest, broken glass in goalmouth is a depressing sight no matter who you support surely.

Ach wheel, that's the title over for Sevco, but at least you now have plenty of time to plan your 10th anniversary celebrations on May 29th, every cloud as they say..

Lots of naggins of buckfast discarded after the match pictured in that bbc report! Would the Buckfast be a rangers fan beverage of choice?
|
|
By:
Morelos out for the rest of the season.
League finished but a major setback on our hopes of progressing in the EL and Scottish cup. |
|
By:
Who replaces him?
Roofe or Sakala or Itten? I think Roofe should be given a run. Itten not really in the picture after coming back from his loan spell. |

Been doing a bit of sussing out Aka. Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium has a capacity of 44,000. I've made calls texts and Emails to friends and family in Hamilton and elsewhere in Lanarkshire and other places in the event we reach the the final. It's a case of wait and see obviously but if we make it I have an even money getting a ticket of being there.
It's all if's at the moment but Rangers would fill that stadium with our own support. If the possible I might take miss stew for a wee break. (She's never graced Ibrox.) Here's hoping. Sincerely, one big glory hunter. ![]() |

Some of the Celtic fans think it's all over....not yet..

The OF B teams meet tonight at Parkhead with a 7.30pm kick-off.
Tickets £10, £5 for kids. Expecting another bumper crowd. A must win for Rangers to keep them in the hunt for 2nd place. |

Aka
Any thoughts on what is going to happen to scottish football in the top tier, it has gone beyond a joke celtic/rangers thumping everyone else and the league gonna be decided by the outcome of old firm games, and the gap is getting bigger, and bigger. Next year they should copy the baseball world series and let them just play each other over a number of games to decide the outcome. |
|
By:
It's hard to see anything improving.
The dominance was challenged by Fergie and McLean but I don't think the financial gap was anything like it is now. TBH I'm more concerned with Celtic getting £40m CL cash which will put them out of distance as us. We'd have to win the EL to join them and thats big odds against. |
|
By:
12' A great chance for Tony Weston to open the scoring as he runs onto the end of the Celtic pass back and chips the keeper but the effort drifts over the crossbar.
Celtic 0-0 Rangers |
|
By:
39' A strong spell of play for Rangers who have created some great chances in front of goal but are still seeking the opener.
Celtic 0-0 Rangers |

Had to go out last night but a 67th min goal from Cole McKinnon sealed a 1-0 victory.
|
|
By:
Filip Hielander out for the rest of the season.
He wasn't in the EL squad because of a previous injury but he would have played in the SC semi. |
|
By:
Aaron Ramsey says he aims to "show what I'm capable of" and help the club reach the Europa League last four.
I hope he turns it on tonight as we will have to be on our A game to get through. |
|

Good article on James Tavernier on the BBC website.
Played 337 games for us and scored 77 goals with 106 assists. Unbelievable stats for a right back. |
|
By:
Indeed Aka. Meanwhile I smell blood.
|
|
By:
Theoretically speaking we now have two chances of automatic qualification for the Champions League next season.
|
|
By:
Best chance is to win the EL.
Betting Odds: Evens RB Leipzig 17/10 West Ham 5/1 Eintracht Frankfurt 7/1 Rangers Be a very hard game against Leipzig but then se were the games against Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade and Braga. The first half last night was stunning, best we've played this season. Play like that and we can win this trophy. |
|
By:
Aka, I cannot find any betting on here.

For this competition??

Rangers B team at home to Gala Fairydean (in 11th place) tonight in their penultimate Lowland LKeague fixture.
We meet Dalbeattie Star (in 10th place) in our last game on the 23rd, another home fixture. Both must wins if we're to have any chance of finishing 2nd. Celtic and East Kilbride both have only 1 more game to play. Celtic are away to Broomhill (in 14th place) with East Kilbride at home to runaway winners Bonnyrigg Rose. Currently East kilbride have 71 points with Celtic on 70 and Rangers on 67. |

By:
Rangers B team beat Gala Fairydean 5-2.
3-0 up at half-time but Gala brought it back to 3-2 in the 73rd min before 2 goals in the dying minutes sealed the victory. |

Be unfair if you didn’t win a trophy this season
Europa is the big one though |
|

Agreed Sonta.
The Europa League will be hard to win but certainly not impossible. |
