On the Saturday night we went to the Bristol bar, Louden and a couple of pubs on Duke Street. A definite eye opened walking in the Bristol bar!! But great atmosphere and friendly people. We watched the game in the Louden at Ibrox and that was also superb (bar result) and anyone we spoke to were excellent - even though we struggled to understand the accent (they probably had the same with us). Went into Glasgow town centre after the game into a few pubs and then back to Duke Street on the night. All in all had a great weekend apart from the result and our flights being delayed both ways. Would definitely go back for another game though and weekend away. |

I think rangers players had played themselves out against legia warsaw on thursday night and most players couldn't raise their game again against a little club that we usually beat now.

Hey flush,
Wasn't there a case recently when a guy sought damages from Sevco for sexual abuse that he was subjected to whilst at Rangers, only to be told that nothing could be done as Sevco is a different club. |

That would be an ecumenical matter.

Glad you had an enjoyable time but as you say pity about the result. |

RANGERS Under-19’s have been draw to play Young Boys in the first round of the UEFA Youth League.
Gers qualified for the competition for the first time after winning the under-18’s league last season. The draw for the first and second round were held this afternoon in Nyon. Rangers will meet Young Boys in the first round of the competition, travelling to Switzerland for the first leg. Ties are scheduled to be played on October 2 and October 23, but are subject to change. Should the under-19’s progress they will play either Ludogorets or Slovan Bratislava in the second round, with the ties due to be played on November 6 and November 27. |

So where has this 7 Million Pounds for Ryan Kent come from then? Another soft loan that's where! They have not sold any players of note and the last projection, that's all it was, was that Sevco would 'probably' break even for the season 2018/19, that included Euro money and the share issue. I believe there was at least 4M spent prior to the the Kent purchase, which IMO was a hysterical knee jerk reaction to being comprehensibly humiliated by Glasgow Celtic Football Club, so that adds up to about 11M spent with heehaw coming in and let's not forget the last official accounts showed a 14M deficit for season 17/18.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-rangers/transfers/verein/124 Sevco still have 3 multi million pound loans with the Close Bros outstanding and yet are splashing this amount of cash about? I am sure the like of Hibs Or Aberdeen would love to buy big, but they don't because they live within their means, or have learned to. With the likes of Bury Fc and Bolton in the news, this spending seems reckless, the 276 victims of, the then, Rangers FC's 140 Million pound debt scandal must be spinning in their graves by the way the club is being run, with lessons not being learned and scant respect paid to moral decency. SPFL investigate please ![]() |

"which IMO was a hysterical knee jerk reaction to being comprehensibly humiliated by Glasgow Celtic Football Club,"
Do you mean the last game where rangers started out dominating until tiredness from thursday's tough match set in. Even though rangers then started playing poorly, this second rate celtic team still couldn't win until we gifted them 2 goals. Why do you think your mate at UEFA gave rangers a tough tie before the old firm match while celtic had their usual easy passage. |

. RANGERS is deeply saddened to announce that former player Fernando Ricksen passed away yesterday morning following his battle with motor neurone disease. Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson said: “Everyone connected with Rangers will be distressed by Fernando’s passing. He fought so bravely against a terrible illness and our thoughts are with his family. “Fernando will never be forgotten by his teammates or Rangers fans. His place in our history is secured.’ Rangers Chairman Dave King said: “I would like to place on record my admiration for the manner in which Fernando dealt with such a dreadful illness. He was an inspiration. “Fernando was also a wonderful player for this club and you could see what it meant to him to be a part of Rangers. He will never be forgotten for the way he faced adversity, on and off the pitch and my thoughts are with his family at this desperately sad time.” Fernando spent six trophy-laden seasons at Ibrox having initially joined a number of other Dutch players under manager Dick Advocaat in the summer of 2000. Signing from AZ Alkmaar, he endured a difficult start to life in Glasgow, but in typical Fernando fashion, he worked hard in the face of adversity to become a mainstay in the side when Alex McLeish took over as manager in December 2001. RIP fella |

He played in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup finals of that season, as Gers defeated Ayr United and Celtic respectively to claim a cup double.
The following season, he was an outstanding performer as the Light Blues went one better to win the domestic treble with Ricksen again playing in both cup finals. Season 2003/04 was a disappointment for everyone at Rangers, but season 2004/05 was to be another memorable campaign, with Fernando named captain of the side in January 2005 following an injury to Stefan Klos. He was truly wonderful in that campaign, particularly after being handed the armband, and began adding goals to his game, claiming a total of nine in that season, while he was named as Rangers’ Player of the Year and joint-SPFA Player of the Year with John Hartson. In a crucial game at Hearts in the title run-in, he remained calm under intense pressure to net a 94th-minute winner from the penalty spot to keep Gers in the hunt for the big prize. He also scored a terrific free-kick against Motherwell in a 5-1 League Cup final win as he lifted his first trophy as captain, but the main event of the season was still to come. Trailing Celtic by two points going into the final game of the season, a defeat for Martin O’Neill’s side at Motherwell coupled with a win for Gers at Hibs meant McLeish’s men sensationally claimed the title – with Fernando being the man to lift the trophy on one of the most iconic days in the club’s history. Fernando left for Zenit and, in a twist of fate, was an unused substitute for them against Rangers in the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. He left Zenit in 2009 and wound down his career at his first club, Fortuna Sittard until his retirement. In October 2013, he revealed he was suffering from motor neuron disease, and since then, has fought a terrific battle against the condition, raising awareness and funds for the Fernando Ricksen Foundation which aims to help others suffering from the illness. A benefit match was held at Ibrox in January 2015, and attracted over 41,000 fans to Ibrox. It raised £320,000 with the proceeds split between Fernando, his daughter Isabella, MND Scotland and the Rangers Charity Foundation. A member of the Rangers Hall of Fame, he also won 12 caps for his native Holland. The thoughts of everyone at Rangers is with his wife Veronika, his daughter Isabella and all his family and friends. It'll be emotional tonight with Feyenoord visiting ... |

Fans to pay respects at ex-Rangers player Fernando Ricksen's funeral
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-49813989 The funeral of ex-Rangers player Fernando Ricksen will take place in Glasgow later. The Dutch international died last week at the age of 43 after battling motor neurone disease since 2013. The cortege will make its way to Ibrox Stadium, along Paisley Road West, for 13:00 where it will stop briefly outside the stadium front door. Fans are expected to turn out in large numbers to pay their respects from the opposite side of the road. The cortege will then proceed to Wellington Church for the funeral at 14:00 before a private, family service is held at Linn Crematorium. 'He gave 100% for the jersey' Glasgow City Council has confirmed that Edmiston Drive will be closed from 12:00 to 13:30 because of the crowd expected to gather as the hearse drives past. Ricksen was a fans' favourite during his six-year spell at Rangers after being signed by Dick Advocaat in 2000. He helped the club win the domestic cup double in 2002, the treble in 2003 and was captain for a trophy double in 2005. In a statement released through Rangers, the player's family said they "would like to thank everyone who has paid their respects to Fernando over the last week". The statement added: "It has been a source of comfort at a very difficult time." Only family flowers are requested at Wellington Church. After diagnosis in 2013, Ricksen spent his years battling motor neurone disease and campaigning and raising money to find a cure for the debilitating condition, which affects the nerves and causes weakness over time. Fund-raising for research His charity has raised over £1m in a bid to help scientists with research. Speaking to ITV News in June, when he used eye movements to talk via a computer, Ricksen urged those in sport to do more to help pressure drugs companies to find a cure. "The sports world could put more pressure on the pharmaceutical companies," he said. "This disease is not lucrative enough so it has no priority. "If tomorrow an MND epidemic came we would have a cure within a week. It's disgusting but a reality." |

Watched the highlights of the games I missed on Rangers TV.
2 victories over Livingston home and away but the cup tie was close. Although I don't suppose the thugs fouling at every opportunity helped. 1-0 against Feyenoord with a great display and could easily have seen us score another 3 or 4 goals. And an easy 4-0 victory against St Johnstone. How could the referee not give a penalty for handball? Incredible! |

A pleasing 5-0 romp against Aberdeen yesterday.
I thought Steven Davis was superb but the rest of the team were on their game as well. I don't think I've ever witnessed a more one sided game, could easily have been 7 or 8. I wonder what the Aberdeen fans were feeling as they journeyed home after the match. |
