Do you mean a marked improvement on the 2-0 victory (trouncing) against celtic?
|
|
By:
Can`t see you holding on to Gerrard tbh. Premier League beckons.
|
|
By:
You hope. Glad you've got Lennon though. Showed at Hibs he can't handle defeat.
celtic get off to a bad start or hit a bad run the players better duck. |

I`m going to bet Sevco just to jinx them

Rangers 12/5 with 365. Laddies @4/11 best for celtic.

Looking at the fixtures.
First 3 games are: Celtic Rangers St Johnstone H Kilmarnock A Motherwell A Hibs H Hearts H St Mirren A Then its Ibrox for the first OF match of the season. Kilmarnock not been the best of hunting grounds for us of recent and Hibs always tricky. Might wait til after those 2 games before having a bet. Celtic look nailed on for 2 wins so odds on Rangers won't shorten. |

Just watched the highlights of the Mansfield game.
Not much of a game tbh more a kickabout. |

Rangers now know they will face St Joseph's in the Europa League first qualifying round - but have to wait until at least Thursday before the date of next week's first leg is confirmed.
The Gibraltar side beat nine-man Prishtina 2-0 on Tuesday to secure a 3-1 aggregate win. However, should local rivals Europa also get through on Thursday, the visit of Rangers would be moved to Tuesday. That is because Gibraltar only has one stadium suitable for European matches. |

Gibraltar is a dump. Can`t even get a large straight Malt. "Not allowed Sir", says the barman, "It has to be on the Rocks"!
|
|
By:
Think I need a large Malt after reading that.

RANGERS beat Welsh side The New Saints 1-0 in a closed doors friendly at the Hummel Training Centre.
Cool finish from Defoe but still no sign of Kent. |
|
By:
SG put out a different team in each half.
First Half XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Edmundson, Barisic, Docherty, Davis, Aribo, Ojo, Defoe, Jones. Second Half XI: McGregor (Firth 75’), Polster, Flanagan, Katic, Halliday, Kamara, McCrorie, Candeias, Hastie, Stewart, Murphy. Goals: Defoe 14’ |

Rangers 5 v 0 Oxford
RANGERS: Alnwick (Foderingham HT), Polster (Tavernier 60), Katic (McPake HT), Edmundson (Mayo HT), Halliday (Barisic 60), Docherty (Jack 60), Kamara (Goldson HT), Aribo (Jones 60), Candeias (Ojo 60), Stewart (Defoe 60), Hastie (Davis HT). Goals from Candeias (16) and Stewart (32) gave Rangers a 2-0 lead at half-time. Mayo (52), Ojo (70) and Defoe (90) completed the scoring in a good performance from Rangers McGregor and Morelos both fit but SG preferred not to involve them with Tuesdays game in mind. |

Looks like defoe is staying this season then
|
|
By:
8 goals from 12 starts in the league.
Decent return and happy to see him here. Some rumours on twitter and the Scottish media that Crystal Palace are in talks for Morelos. Also suggesting that SG has already lined up a replacement. Mixed emotions. Great player but too easily riled. |
|
By:
Any idea how much defoe is on a week aka?
|
|
By:
According to some on here its £32k per week but I cant see Rangers paying that.
Was reported by a reliable site on twitter was nonsense although they didn't say how much, only said the quoted figure was miles out. |
|
By:
Watched that game today (full match and highlight free on rangers tv to subscribers)
Playing exactly the way they played last season. SG got his system and going to stick to it. Got some decisions to make in midfield especially with Candeias who was outstanding today. |

Morning all, a few of us are having a long weekend up Glasgow when you are playing Celtic Sept 1st. The plan is to try and get match tickets (price dependant I think so not too hopeful), if we do not get any tickets where would be the best pub to watch it with Rangers fans and a decent atmosphere preferably - either by the ground or in the town centre?
Assume best place to try for tickets is by the ground, as I don't really want to go to any ticket websites? Any ideas of approx prices if any become available? Any help/suggestions appreciated. |

Rangers themed pub right next to the stadium.
Louden Tavern, Ibrox 111 Copland Road, Glasgow G51 2SL, Scotland Have a look on here www.thelouden.co.uk/ Contact details on that link. |
|
By:
Hope that helps MD.
I wouldn't think you'll get tickets without paying way over the odds. |

Jordan Rossiter joining Fleetwood on a year long loan. Hope wee Joey toughens him up.
Strange that Candeias is missing from the Gibraltar squad. Had a good game and looked really fit. Maybe he has picked up a knock but SG not said anything. Looks like SG doesn't rate him. Was an incident last season when he made his displeasure at something known on the park by refusing to celebrate. |
|
By:
eh??
Was an incident last season when he made his displeasure at something known on the park by refusing to celebrate. |
|
By:
SG says leaving Candeias behind is merely down to squad rotation and no big deal.
Still seems strange to me. Had a really good season and did well in Europe. |
|
By:
Hopefully the new squad know each other well enough to beat this "little team" especially on a plastic pitch.
|
|
By:
akabula - thanks for the information.
I don't mind paying over the odds myself as doubt I will ever go to another one, it's just that one of my mates won't pay ridiculous money. What do you reckon as a ballpark figure on the day outside the ground (as I won't be going on any ticket sites)? |
|
By:
Can't see defoe getting 32k a week myself
|

The commentator on Premier Sports knows how to pronounce Tavernier's name correctly.Perhaps Craigan will have a word at half time.

2-0 to Sevco. The latest loan Ranger is looking good.
|
|
By:
The commentator has forgotten what he was told and is now on his third attempt at getting Tavernier's name correct.
Meanwhile,3-0 to Sevco. |
|
By:
Great to see the opposition taking such an interest in Rangers
and iam giving us some really interesting facts on the commentator. Must be a bundle of fun in the pub. ![]() |

Ojo goal reminiscent of his goal on Sunday against Oxford.
4-0 away always pleasing this early in the season especially on such a poor playing surface. |
|
By:
@MD I haven't a clue tbh. I'll try to find out though.
|
|
By:
it's good to know that 'tic supporters like iam spend european nights watching rangers.
