Liverpool are on holidays! Chelsea boss Mourinho backs 'best friend' Rodgers' title chance... because they aren't in Europe
By MATT BARLOW PUBLISHED: 21:57, 27 December 2013 | UPDATED: 15:22, 28 December 2013 134 shares 186View comments Jose Mourinho claims Liverpool are serious title contenders this season because their gentle fixture schedule, with no European competition, is like being ‘on holidays’. Mourinho believes fewer games and extra preparation time gives Brendan Rodgers an edge in a congested race at the top of the Barclays Premier League. ‘Liverpool are on holidays for one season,’ said the Chelsea boss ahead of tomorrow’s clash between the teams at Stamford Bridge. ‘One week to prepare a match, play the match and one more week to prepare the next match. It is an unbelievable advantage.’ Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2530142/Liverpool-holidays-Mourinho-backs-best-friend-Rodgers-title-chance.html#ixzz2zQHj5sBx Follow us: @MailOnline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook |

Hazard got injured for three weeks, we spent £1 billion and aren't equipped to play a few more games. You chelsh1t fans take the pi55 you really do, are Chelsea vile because of their fans, or do vile people choose to support chelsea. Chicken/egg situation SUAAREZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ |

Not only that they were out of our cups as well ,this season was an abnormality ,may never happen again where a team has only one trophy to play for .

Fantastic season 2013/14 season so glad to see a traditional team win the Premiership, the best season since 2003/04. So happy Chelsea and Man City have blown it last on from winning positions.
Fingers crossed Atlético Madrid dump all over sh!tty Chelsea and their sh!tty manager. |

dont think the league is devalued, but liverpool have had an advantage and probably would have struggled to keep players like gerrard fit with european commitments, but that said liverpool have played the most entertaining/attacking football (manc also but not since the loss of aguero) and as such i'm never disappointed to see their style of play succeed

Still, never won a Premiership in the Fergie era.
|
|
By:
They won a few titles in his era though. Up to now they hadn't won a title in the Sky era but that has been put right this season.

Would you like some pork scratchings with that bitter?
|
|
By:
Why can't people just accept another team winning the league?
An embarrassing weekend for all connected with Chelsea. |
|
By:
Maybe devalued is the wrong word alawys and achievement , ABNORMALITY is a better phrase in the way it fell for Liverpool this season?
Change devalued for ABNORMAL in the way all league winners ae also in Europe and competing for other trophies . |

Chelsea still could beat liverpool.. then City could win all their remaining games and win the prem maybe on goal difference
|

As the reality dawns the seethers become more and more bitter, great to see

We will send a "B" team up there ,we have got a bigger fish to fry now the Champions League time for Chelsea to concentrate on one trophy .
|
|

..I agree tenpins...
..and its not as if they have done it in a muggy way....some of their attacking play has been breathtaking...... ..Rodgers has done incredible work......look at the way he has improved Sturridge...Sterling and particularly Henderson. a brilliant achievement if they see it through. |
|
By:
I think everyone should just accept that Liverpool have won the title. It's over. There is no title race.
I still cant believe I didn't see it earlier. It's so obvious, Liverpool were always going to win the league in this particular year. |

Let's not resort to excuses and bitterness like others have for years, we are not performing well enough and don't deserve to win it, it's simple as that.

This thread deserves to be turned into a classic - of course if any other team won it it wouldn't be 'devalued' would it?
|

No sour grapes zeez eez facts an abnormal league this season where a team with no other interest ends up winning it .Utd ,Chelsea,City,Arsenal even Spurs all had other comittments ,it was a bit of a freak and will not happen to often.

The Premier League, has been far better quality this season. Last year Man Utd won the League, but they won the worst ever Premier League, as the standard of football last season was almost abject.

..if it is such an advantage....then why isn't it happening every other year????
...why aren't more teams taking advantage of the euro commitments of the top 4????? ...answer is you need excellence first and foremost...which Liverpool under Rodgers certainly are. |
|
By:
still...we can only beat what you put in front of us even if they are a steaming pile of ****

All the top sides usually qaulify for Europe ,Liverpool did not and they were knocked out of our cups early doors, this does not happen to other top sides? an abnormality that Liverpool took advantage of in a freak season.

Next year Liverpool will win the Champions League and we will see what a great team they are.

A Hunter, when Chelsea won their first title for 50 odd years were you on here complaining that the win was devalued by the abnormal amounts Roman had spent build that team? You won those titles spending vast amounts more money than the rest of the teams in the league. Did you complain that devalued your win? I reckon you preferred to praise your team for being worthy winners by their performances on the pitch, you deserved those titles by being the best team. I'm no Liverpool fan, far from it, my natural liking is more for Chelsea, though Jose with his constant whining and child like sulking is doing his best to put me off. But Liverpool play entertaining attacking football and IF they win this league , from 36-1 pre-season, and having spent far less than Chelsea and Man City, fair play to them, respect. You should tajke a leaf from ChelseaKai's book and learn how to be a gracious loser and have a bit of dignity about it, just like Jose should learn the same lesson from Pellegrini and some other managers. And enjoy your Champions League campaign, you might win it again, and fair play to you if you do.
