The most unsavoury aspect of BJ69 YX:YX though is that he has also been exposed as a thatcher lover and a bigoted one eyed hater of Liverpool and Northern folk AngryAngryAngry

The prices for those games were horrendous though. 3's to win at the Bridge and 4's at the Etihad.

Nah, about £50 down atm, most of that from the last two fixtures. It looks unlikely that it'll turn a profit at the end of the season, but you never know.

3/1 and 4/1 ? (rather than 3.0 + 4.0 )

I wouldn't say they were terrible prices

If the teams are equal then 5/2 ,11/4  would be the ballpark figure for the away team .If Chelsea were considered marginally superior then 3/1 would be the correct Liverpool odds . If City were considered superior by a clear margin (eg expected to be 10-12pts ahead over a season ) then 4/1 again seems spot on.

Nope. 3.3 for Chelsea and 4.3 for City.

tobe how would you price cardiff v liverpool

i said i wouldn't back us at shorter than 1.75 but obviously i wouldn't get that anywhere so = no bet

1.41 looks too short i'd probably say about 1.6  was the proper odds?
By:

I don't have the exact prices I backed at because I can't be bothered to scroll up through the spam, so taken them from Betexplorer.

On my ratings Liverpool come out @1.66 for the Cardiff game .

They are shorter based on their most recent form being seen as the most likely to be produced on the day . The Villa/West Brom level performances though are not that long ago .

i can't argue with that

there is still the doubts of displays like them you mention among the chelsea/city/saints/utd games

everyone agrees 1.41 is too short for this game cj

i'm not just being awkward for the sake of it Wink

You are more bullish on Liverpool than I am. Under your ratings have they been a back this season?

Everyone? Just wait till the match thread and all the usual suspects pile in. Laugh

Nope. 3.3 for Chelsea and 4.3 for City.

3.3 would have been making Liverpool the better side at Chelsea  , which i wouldn't have agreed with at the time .I think i made them about 3.9

4.3 also seems a bit short considering how hyped City were at that time . Though maybe City were never that good really .

If Liverpool win the league though people will look back and think those were great prices (regardless that they lost both games )

It's tricky to judge whether - through the players really now having more confidence in each other ,more familiarity etc - Liverpool have reached another level in the last couple of months and will sustain this , or if they have just had a run of exceptional form that will soon drop down to a more typical level.

ok me then and tobe (who i do respect on here for prices a lot of the time tbh)

it looks a stand out too short but thats an opinion formed on the specific event rather than a pre determined view that it will always be the case.

3/1 at OT with utd overall record against the top half and their home record which is well off normal, that was never a lay price (apologies for the after timing)

i'll comment on the prices i see from now till the end of the season each game BEFORE the matches Laugh, see how often i think the market is out!

BJ69 YX:YX has fully exposed himself as a complete betting BUFFOON unable to grasp that his bigoted strategy of laying Liverpool has led to massive losses LaughLaughLaugh

while at the same time he is also being unable to work out or understand that laying manure this season has led to massive profits HappyHappyHappy

Under your ratings have they been a back this season?

Hard to say overall . I've tended to just cherrypick lately bets so don't have data for what it would have been like over the season.

But , to begin with  i actually thought Liverpool were underrated : I posted on a few threads pre season/September that they were much closer in capability to City/Chelsea/United (yes they were part of the market's 'Big 3' ) than they were being credit for .

I thought they were the right price at United the other day but generally i think they are now overrated . Especially given how much shorter they are than Arsenal for the league , as i don't have much between them.

the difference in league prices is one of the daftest discrepancies i've ever seen on here tobe!
By:
CJ70
When: 18 Mar 14 23:26
I look at the price discrepancy in that market and just think it's the usual Liverpool pressure on odds.

Not sure I'd oppose it as if the form in the last two games continues it might be sticky pants time.
By:

I doubt it will, but it's not worth my time having money tied up in that market.

The correct price for L'pool will be around
1.45 IMO. The layers will be giving nothing
away, you can be sure of that, and I would
consider giving up betting if they went off
bigger than 1.50.

I must admit i was wrong about Brendan Rodgers .

I thought he was going to be a Mike Walker at Everton type car crash .

With hindsight ( of course! ) can see that he was probably a good choice by some of the decisions he made last season.....

Getting Andy Carroll out the door ASAP : That is something that Moyes could never have done . Even if he hadn't wanted him , he'd have thought ''the owners paid a fortune for this guy barely a year ago , i'll have to try and make it work somehow''

But Rogers had a definite playing style in mind, Carroll was not going to fit into that ,and so he had to go . So he was saying that things were going to be done his way .

He also decided Downing, Joe Cole,Shelvey were not good enough , but he handled them all well and got some decent effort out of them while they were there.

Even the comical things  , like the painting on his wall , actually now seem like a positive . It shows he has a lot of self regard , and i think this season has shown that you cannot cope as the manager of a really big club unless you have a big ego and an arrogance that you belong at this level.

Agree Tobes, saw plenty of non Liverpool fans (and even some Liverpool) giving Rodgers stick and how he wasn't good enough, not up to it, wasted money on the likes of Joe Allen, couldn't even get much use out of Sahin. Now look at them. Quietly gone about his business, stuck to his style of play and has built a very good side.

Still a bit to go and 2/7 NOT to win a trophy,
that is assuming a top 4 placing is still not classed
as winning silverware. GL to them, recently they have
been a joy to watch.
