Roy Hodgson before the Slovenia vs England game

"I'd take a show or a lucky victory. At the end of the day winning or not getting beaten are the important factors."

He wasnt saying that a year ago at the world cup

I still recall when he was manager of Liverpool and they were beaten at home by a poor wolves team 1-0,and woy said afterwards I thought we deserved a 0-0 draw.

It just about sums him up.

Woy meets all the FA criteria:

Yes man, boring man and diddy man.

Southgate won't be quitting according to reports. Another one well and truly on the gravy train believing he's the man for the job because the FA say so Cry

No obvious omissions as far as I can see. 24 players, 22 of whom will go plus Wheelchair if he proves his fitness.

No takers. Thought someone was bound to take the bait regarding Rooney who will obviously go as well. So 21 of these go plus Wilshere and Rooney. The most under threat maybe Dier/Drinkwater, Walcott and possibly a right back (so walker)given that Stones can cover central and right back.

the obsession with wilshere is very odd. just 14 league appearances in the last 2 seasons and as many prem goals in 8 years as dele alli has in 6 months

tbh his most prominent appearences in the last 2 years have both been pished up ones on the bus

He scored two cracking goals on one of his most recent England appearances and that will still be in Hodgson's mind particularly as we haven't really got anyone demanding a place in that position. (apart from Ali)

Walcott, what is the point? I'd rather we took somebody like Deeney, at least he may surprise, whereas you know what you'll get with Feo. Why is Sterling in, if he can't get in City's team?

Hodgson is terrified of taking risks, but a team with people like Drinkwater and Vardy, SUPPLEMENTED with quality players that derserve their place, like Dier, Alli and Kane, would do the job. Nobody's asking this idiot to take a shadow side, but just use a little imagination, ffs

Totally disagree. Think is squad is totally correct. Deeney isn't good enough. Drinkwater who deserves a chance will get one.

Hodgson displaying his mastery of diplomacy today.....

Asked why Gary Neville is struggling as a manager , Roy explained that he's spoken to Gary and the problem is the  Valencia players are no good/not trying and the whole club has an unrealistic expectation of being top half.

Spanish media will batter Neville with that.

Hodgson said after the Portugal game that Kane's job in the team is 'to defend the wide areas' .

So while he is stuck out there he is nearest to the corner i guess

because he got a draw at wembley in Euro 96 thanks to a late penalty. Serious answer, that is the only reason I can see. Doesn't mean I'm not baffled by it.

Thought Mclaren was the funniest appointment ever. But he topped that. An absolute loser and the people who appointed him need to be dragged in front of the cameras and fired one by one along with a guy who never deserved the job in a million years

Wow…you all loved the guy in qualifying and NOW he's useless?  Where was this thread during the great qualifying miracle? If he'd won you'd all be calling him a genius! Pick an opinion and stick with it. Gutless performance by mediocre players. No passion. No fire. Always the same with England. Why so shocked? Great odds on Iceland thanks to the arrogant and delusional shaping the markets. Thanks Roy!

My opposition to Hodgson began before he was the England manager. The qualifying group was full of utter shyte sides we would breeze past without a manager.

People say he won toss all during a long career.

However, he has managed the double of being Liverpool and Englands worst manager ever.
