"walter" never signed a player for 3 years. (oh really?)all those players must have fell down the chimney with santa claus.
"walter' never got a league extension. (oh, finished on a Thursday, Why?) "walter" left rangers in good financial health. except for the wee matter of 134 million, he did, well done walter. "walter' doesn't do walking away, emmm, oh yes he does. |

"Most chairmen of non-Old Firm clubs want a change in the voting structure of the SPL, from the current 11-1 majority required for key issues, such as distribution of TV revenue, to a 9-3 majority. Some hope that the consortium headed by Charles Green, which achieved control of Rangers last week, will agree to a pact on the voting process - which would leave Celtic as sole supporters of the 11-1 rule – before the general meeting of SPL clubs considers the application for admission by the Ibrox newco at Hampden Park on July 4.
However, if Rangers are relegated, Celtic would no longer have their Old Firm ally to veto any such proposal for change" ![]() |

I'm a Celtic season ticket holder. I will be amazed if Celtic do not vote NO. Lawell knows who pays his wages and he will know that any good feeling he has within the support is gone if he does not vote NO. It's a no brainer cos they can't get 8 YES votes and Lawell will just have to bite the bullet. Hibs Dundee U Hearts Aberdeen are certs NO and the others are being bombarded by their supporters. I see it being 10-2. Kilmarnock and the liquidation Rangers voting YES all others will vote no because once 5 come out there is no point in the others incurring the wrath of their fans. Kilmarnock have no choice but to go against their fans because they have always publicly backed a YES vote but considering they had two title parties invited the guests and provided the entertainment i.e their team laying down and dying Shields and Johnston are exposed as having no shame already.

Dont think the SPL vote really matters, we will either be demoted as a matter of fact, suspended for a year, or Expelled all together.
|
|
By:
Mac-You cannot be demoted.
At present you are not in any league. Its not a vote to demote you. Its a vote to allow you to JOIN law abiding clubs in the S.P.L.(very,very unlikely) or the 3rd division(odds on) |

Hi Shuda,
I think we are fkd m8. The funds are not there to take what is left of "The Rangers" forward in any sense. |

disgusting if they only drop 1 league
DISGUSTING |
|
By:
I think the only people that could save the newco is Sky....
They could put pressure on the SPL to setup an SPL 2 league and put the newco there. |
|
By:
Hi Plat
DISGUSTING! May I ask what you or anyone else would see as fitting punishment for our club that was formally known as Rangers Football Club PLC? |

Mac, your new club needs to start in the Third Div, like Livi did. I was led to understand that's what a lot of your fans would accept anyway. Is that not the case?
BTW Sea Moon is a cracking bet today. Can't believe it's an now an e/w price on here. ![]() |

Scottish football chiefs agree on deal to take Rangers newco into First Division Jun 24 2012 By Mark Guidi, Sunday Mail Hampden Hampden SCOTTISH football chiefs last night shook hands on a verbal agreement that will see a Rangers newco play in the First Division next season. But the game’s rulers will face opposition from member clubs as they try to push the deal through. The talks involving SFA chief Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster of the SPL and SFL top dog David Longmuir are also set to spark a major revamp of our game. Play-offs between the SPL and SFL would return and there would also be a redistribution of TV and sponsorship money. A joint statement from all three bodies last night stated: “Further consultation will take place in the near future, with the aim of reaching a positive outcome.” The weekend summit meeting had mainly focused on finding an avenue for Rangers to be allowed into the First Division. Gers face a vote on July 4 to see if their newco will be granted entry into the SPL but the bid looks doomed to failure. Longmuir will now urge his member clubs to allow Gers to drop down just one flight. But that won’t be straightforward as several SFL clubs will oppose the move. Falkirk chairman Martin Ritchie has already gone public with his objections and more clubs are expected to follow. ---- The only way I can see this going thru is an Sky SPL 2 with more money going down to the lesser clubs |
|
By:
Its looking more and more likely there will be no "rangers" playing anywhere next season.
Naismith,Whittaker,Aluko plus others are now refusing to join the newco and walking away. Green has no money coming in as the fans refuse to buy season tickets,no bank account,no players and of course to licence to enter any team in Scotland. They are all cheats and con men. |
|
By:
should
put them in div 3 with a ten year ban on signing anyone over 16 with no tv income until money owed by the previous company is repaid with interest to all the other football clubs they stiffed (including the non-scottish ones) and give them a massive points ban and cup exclusion for each season they made illegal payments (so they can't be promoted for however many years they cheated for) |
|
By:
quote....should
put them in div 3 with a ten year ban on signing anyone over 16 .. are you 8.. so by your arguments its the same Rangers and should not be treated as a new company.. im ok with this |

Rangers liquidation: Newco must forget SPL, says Gordon Smith
Published on Monday 25 June 2012 00:00 Former Rangers Director of Football Gordon Smith has called on Charles Green’s newco to withdraw its application to the SPL and volunteer to start again in the Scottish Football League First Division. Smith said: “If I had still been at Ibrox, that is the route I would have been recommending. “As a Rangers fan, I find it embarrassing the club has put the rest of Scottish football in this position.” The 11 existing SPL clubs, plus Rangers, will meet on 4 July to discuss whether the so-called newco Rangers, owned by Green’s Sevco consortium, should be allowed to play in the SPL next season. If the clubs vote no Rangers would have to apply to the SFL and could begin again in the Third Division. The Scottish Football Association is currently trying to push through proposals to merge the SPL and SFL with Rangers admitted to a new First Division or SPL2. And Smith said: “I would really like to see Rangers to make a strong statement by saying: ‘Listen, we will go down and start again’. I believe it would be a great gesture and one with real symbolism. They would be saying, we know we have done wrong and we are taking our punishment.” |

Hibs are going to vote NO.
If Aberdeen are also a No (as has been suggested) that will be 4 votes against Rangers so will need just one more vote. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18577192 |

Would be good if a few more of the Div 1 teams came out and joined Falkirk in their opposition to the moving of the goalposts/carve up/restructuring of the Scottish game that might allow newco to parachute into Div 1.

Plat, can understand the reasoning, but what then happens if sky pull the plug?? How could Scottish Football survive then.
TBH, i couldnt see a lot of people buying into the EPL if it was a one horse race for a few years, mind you the old firm are only a shadow quality wise of what they used to be imho |
