looks like hooper will be given right up to the last minute for fitness, still dont understand why we havent moved for another striker regardless of hoopers situation. if there is potentially up to 40k in place to pay bellamy if HE decides he wants to come then i for one would personally prefer to see that money going to someone/two with maybe more hunger and desire. gotta hope there is a lot of work going on in background. also forget trialists they are a waste of time, if u need a trial u aint good enough

tbh the morre i think the board are doing the right things. 1. we have more than enough to win league and cups 2. financial state of club is clealry a huge positive for future 3. win league ,with addition of a decent europa this season, then invest in "big names" to secure champs league money. this is me retracting my statement earlier about spending the money which is there for bellamy. we dont need him or any other 40k a week men this season. wot u think folks or am i falling in to a trap which the board want us to?

The board are doing a great job, the club are stagnated in the SPL, we know they are the biggest club in British football, bar maybe one, but Asia doesn't.
If the club cant earn big money then neither can the employees, we've just got to plough along, and if an opportunity to progress our market share appears we are in sound financial state to seize it, which prsently we are.

obv not wot we wanted to hear but... see off sion, which i'm confident of. then st j at home and st mirren away arent the worst games he could be missing for. think of the +'s

Its vital that Lennon brings in another center half before the transfers market closes. In Europe when majstrovic comes up against good quality forwards then it could be carnage for Celtic. I'm praying it doesn't happen but its key we recruit another good center half.

When: 15 Aug 11 19:47
hooper, it doesnt even take quality to expose dan, he's so out of position that a guy on crutches would get free a few times a match

I know, he play's like a melon against weaker opposition in the spl but what am saying is if we get through to the Europa League group stage and plays against top opposition. God knows how he will cope, it will be embarassing
By:

he might actually do better, if we have to defend around our own box against better teams, by just competing and getting blocks in, it's space that embarrases him

tbh i think he aint that bad , need another centre half still though and maybe a striker ie bellamy.if we cant get bellamy no point bringing in someone who is not going to get a game like murphy.

Procuring a good keeper is essential.
Away in Europe, Samaras up front on his own, with 5 in midfield would be my formation.
Left back cover would be nice.
By:
liamcol
When: 16 Aug 11 01:27
Agree with that kalanisi, but is it really left back cover we need, rather than centre half cover?
Charlie, Mark Wilson, Adam Matthews, Joe Ledley, can all play left back.
It's the "big dan" position we need to be looking at more, imo.
I will support anyone who wears the jersey, but i just have no confidence in dan, hopefully he proves me wrong.

so is it Cuddicini , Kuszcak , Gordon or are they all just more products of  Lawells Spin Machine ?

Have a feeling Gordan specualtion is serious but not much good if he gets injured again and probably why Sunderland will let him go now they have a couple of new keepers who can do job. No more than 2 million would be reasonable buy.

is Craig Gordon is injured or just warming the bench for Sunderland.??

Good God! looks like its F Foster on another one year loan with an option to buy after that for £2m ,so 6 or more Keepers linked some even on trial and bids supposedly made for others and we end up right back where we were at the end on May ,I'm confused ???

The f Foster story about coming back does not being honest inspire me with confidence.Think he is pretty average at best.

At least he has proven he can handle the job and the players know him already. I don;t remember an awful lot of great saves from last season but also don't remember any mistakes.

mistake against Rangers for millar goal.

Foster's save against St Johnstone was one of them best i have ever seen. But overall in his performances last season he lacked a presence for the size he is, he should be dominating every time in the box. I wouldn't say there was much difference between him and Zaluska.
By:

When: 17 Aug 11 16:13
Have to agree Super, does lack that presence that you need in a goalie considering he is a giant of a man.
By:
SuperDuperGaryHooper
When: 17 Aug 11 16:18
We need to pay good money for a new keeper and center half which is well needed just to polish up the team and possibly another player to add to the attacking force. If possible we should go after a player like Peter Crouch if he was ever to come available in my oppinion
By:
briggietim
When: 17 Aug 11 16:20
Peter Crouch ??  could use him to change the floodlights if the goals dry up.

When: 17 Aug 11 16:22
At 23 and a first full season behind him, a winners medal, surely with the right coaching he can learn to become more dominant, he can become a better keeper.
I would be amazed if there isn't a fantastic young keeper out there in Ireland or Scotland with an affiliation with Celtic. One on the same road as a young Shay Given starting out.

I think he would be magic in the Spl. Anyway, what would you like the team to be for Thursday Bhoys?
By:

When: 17 Aug 11 22:09
With K Wilson in front of him, Frazer will be alot more confident and assured.
Last year we were trying to turn Charlie into a centre half.

twos on tonight is a wee bit short ya reckon lads? i dont bet on the Celts but defo not at that price. Lennons lack of euro games is a fear but hoping for a 2-0 victory to take to Sion. Big FF back in goal will help thank god. I see the Bellamy rumour just wont go away either, sign him and the darkside can forget it with their OAPS at the back. HAIL HAIL.

Celtic's formidable record at home in European ties has taken a few knocks in recent times, but Neil Lennon understands the importance of re-establishing this phenomenon.
Vastly superior teams to tonight's opponents have been sent packing, and this is as good a chance as Celtic could have hoped for, in their quest to get back up the ladder.
Collateral form lines are non existent obviously when it comes to assessing the probabilities for a game like this, so with many year's experience, you rely on gut instinctCool
My gut instinct tells me Sion will not know what has hit them, and Celtic will gub this bunch of diddiesLaughLaugh
