yeah we did talk a good game lol
but we didnt expect 3 of our best players to suddenly be out of action for feck knows how long.izaguirre biggest miss imo as we now need stokes to move out and help , where as iza controls the whole left when on. |

it's a thin line between Samaras catching his chance right, Forrests shot deflecting into goal.. Celtic win 2-0, job done and a team improving even without 3 or 4 1st team players. At least the club are not in deb anymore and can continue to do their great charity work around the world.... not least giving failed Greek Jesus tribute acts a steady wage.

By:
The 2nd pic can't be Sammy, far too close to the bar.
|
|
By:
so everyone now agrees sammy is rubbish
|
|
By:
these Lennon/Lambert rumours just that ?
|
|
By:
lennon survived bomb threats and parcels etc im sure he will survive a 0-0 first leg europa leg match.
|
|
By:
never seen the game lads the hun press are abusing sammy, the gaffer is stiil with him,
keep the faith how bad are rangers and edu , lets hope the other YANK contributes as little |
|
By:
If Samaras had played the way Stokes or Commons did he would've still been getting slagged off. Why weren't they? Samaras and, to a lesser extent, Brown are always crucified for a bad game as compared to people like Hooper who can be totally anonymous in a lot of games. That penalty (which didn't lose us the SPL, the SFA did) is to Sammy what Dancing Brave was to Greville Starkey. Unjust.

By:
good point feck,
a lot of people forget sharastani was favourite in the king george to beat dancing brave |

I was there in Barca with a few Celtic supporting mates 2004 or (2005 ?) when Hartson scored and it finished 1 - 1.
Imagine if they played thesedays - Barca would start about 15`s on. |
|
By:
and score about 15

I cant believe anyone would still defend samaras. only someone that would call themselves feck n. eejit would. Must be samaras' agent. That pen did cost us the league. lennon's defence of samaras today was pathetic. How many strikers with a striking record of 5 goal in 56 games would still have a contract?
|
|
By:
exactly venegoors strike rate was much better and he was chucked out same as mcdonald.but i use vennegoor as he a target man like sammy is meant to be.
utter p1sh though , sammy just feck off |

jedward wud do a better job

That pen did cost us the league.
He didn't miss the penalty, McGregor saved it and Celtic's record with penalties was so poor he was probably our 2nd best penalty taker over the season. To blame him for losing the spl when there was so many points lost to "honest mistakes" (to say nothing of the sublime help the huns got when in trouble) is the mark of a true eejit. Had he netted that penalty I think we can be fairly sure you wouldn't be saying he won us the league. You'd still be fawning to the majority boo boys who are often a contributory factor with respect to his poor form. Personally I think he should leave because he'd be a far better player elsewhere. Fk knows why he loves being at the club so much. |

gets paid for strolling about like a page boy

Any player would love a club that pays you for doing fck all. Lennon thought it would be okay if we got draw against d huns. We had rangers (the worst rangers team i can remember) on their knees & didnt go for it. So, we paid the price so I blame Lennon & samaras for losing the league. That was the turning point. I think it is a load of crap blaming the sfa for losing the league. I know we were robbed in a few games, especially when the hearts player volley balled the ball out of their box, but, we still had the league in our grasp. As I said anyone who can defend or offer samaras a 4 year contract, knows nothing about football.

I was at the same game RAPS way way up in the skies when every single Celtic Supporter look at each other mouthing surely offside ? before exploding into the warm Barcelona Night , great memories , not that long ago but Universes apart now

I totally agree Celtic should never have played for a draw against Rangers that day. Before the game I said on here that, of the remaining games, that was the game they were least likely to be at the wrong end of a refereeing decision. They were still in front after that game though and the game they blew it against ICT Samaras took no part in. They were denied two penalties in that game (keeper on Maloney and Kayal assault - how unlike Rangers two awards last week) yet you still harp back to a penalty that McGregor saved.

It's a cracking line that. The one I aye remember is Trigger talking about the guy faking heart attacks to steal the diamond money "You'd think a man in his condition would know better".

There's a "guess the baby Trotter's name" competition being run in the Nag's Head, and Mike the landlord says to Trigger "Go over and see if you can find out, we'll split the prize-money"
Trigger taps the side of his nose and says "Leave it to me Mike!" He goes and pumps Rodney for info on what Del and Raquel might call the baby, and returns to the bar, looking a wee bit smug. Mike says "Well?" Trigg says "If it's a girl, they're naming her Sigourney, after some actress. If it's a boy, they're going to call him Rodney.......................after Dave!!" ![]() ![]() ![]() |

WRT Samaras; I think it is quite simple - he is suited to playing in a counter attacking team (think of performances for Greece, for Celtic against Rangers on the break at Ibrox, another game in Europe (I can't remember who it was against :-) ).
He is not suited to playing Celtic home games when we are mostly on the front-foot - no space to gallop into. I would not have played him the other night. Better wit Maloney or Pat when we expect to have majority of possession. He might be suited to the away tie; I hope he did not lose (more) confidence... Overall I am not sure he is suited to Celtic, handy for certain away games, particularly in Europe, but an expensive player for a few games a season. I think he would do very well in one of the lower teams in the EPL. -M |

There's a lot in what you say MMK. I think they should try sending him to a hypnotist first to see if they can do anything for his confidence.

Don't open Joes threads is one answer. Believe in the positives and let them grow. Swiss side are poor, Celtic can 100% get a goal or two with Hooper and Kayal back. you must have spent a long time thinking to come up with a pile of sh1te like this |
