And that low one from Stokes is why I am happy to keep what I have

Wow
So pleased I am out! |

Shame for Rahul. Deserved a hundred

Thanks for posting the Collis King debacle WD , wasn't aware at all
![]() Not jumping back into the market here just going to watch and hopefully enjoy a nail-biter. |

I was a little shocked by that!
I mean he outshone The God Father in the Final. Lived a large part of his life in England. married a British woman and they treat him like that. |
|
By:
I took your advice yesterday.
Uneven bounce may even out yet who knows. Being pinned in the back foot is not the answer. Better to step towards the ball even if short then duck if it rears. |

Not impressed with Dawson bowling straight rather than trying to use the rough. Need to show more imagination. Seems like he is auditioning for the part of keeping it tight in the Winter.
|
|
By:
Hard to believe he is batting in a long sleeve jumper
|

Poor shot from Gill
|
|
By:
Yes it was
Probably a tired shot |

India need to bat another 40 overs.
Omfg Dropped! |

India need to bat another 60 overs.

|

They need to bat another 15 overs and nothing else is important.
|

England have bowled 843 overs in this series. This is the most overs they have bowled in the first four Tests of a series since 1964-65 in South Africa.

I think the Dawson argument has been kiboshed!
Good honest professional and decent cricketer but another metronome who doesn’t quite get the craft imho. I would rather stick with Shoib or and take Rehen to Aus. |
|
By:
I like Carse. He has the heart of a Lion and is a specimen. Needs to work with Anderson and learn some tricks.
|
|
By:
I th8nk Root is quite under rated as a 4th innings type bowler. He can give it a rip.

Love watching the Rockstar at the crease , big fav of mine

Just shows how careful you have to be making these declarations , there were cries for Stokes to declare 100 runs earlier but going for the two way result in view of the series status was always correct for me , great stuff Ben for not being gung ho silly.
I know i'm assuming too much here to not make this sound silly but imagine Ben going 100 runs less meaning India being say 75 runs more and you could have easily seen India close on 200 runs ahead here and the two way outcome on the other foot , still an almost certain draw as it's panned out but good Stokes captaincy to curb the " we don't draw " emotions in my view. Despite the Hampshire bias agree with Dawson tbh , a surprising inclusion but difficult in hindsight as to which other options would have been preferable. |
|
By:
Agreed,
Stokes was right. My only point was that it was cloudy. Coulda, woulda, shoulda got a couple more wickets? Who knows? Certainly n9 complaints from me. Yes also a little surprised by Dawson. As we just saw on tv Stokes pointed out where the rough is and then bowled Woakes. This is going to be interested. Round the wicket? He is still bowling on the straight. Dawson will not like getting hit |
|
By:
It blaming Dawson either but some of the criticism of Bashir was unfounded. He took more wickets than Jadeja and Stokes with a soft ball and did not get a chance to bowl 4 th innings.
|
|
By:
No same here regarding no complaints as assuming Stokes would be sensible was part of the reason for never writing off the draw , if i hadn't have greened it all up at 2.32 though i can imagine the cat would have had to run for cover when they were 0-2

Got to be honest I was happy for an opportunity to green out after 0-2
|
|
By:
Won't be betting pre-game at the Oval but gut feeling tells me this series is destined to end 2-2.
|
|
By:
Admittedly some not outs included but as we speak with Jadeja 67 not out he's averaging 131.33 in the series

That would be fair!
Ironic that two left handers batting out of the rough have saved this game. The dodgy bounce came from the Anderson end to right handers. I also hope it has cleared up the spin bowling conundrum. We do not possess a World class spinner. Bashir has promise though a lot of work in progress. Rehan Ahmed has something about him and should go to Australia as an option but his younger brother may be the one to watch! |
|
By:
He does look pretty good tbf.
India missed a trick not playing Kuldeep. He must play at the Oval as must Bumrah who would have been resting today and most of yesterday. |
|
By:
used to turn a lot more at OT..only been the odd ball that's gripped really..
you think of Jadeja in India and he wasn't really a factor here even on day 4.. |
|
By:
Exactly why I thought the criticism of Bashir was unfair
I’d say Leach is our best spinner |
|
By:
yep, I'd have Leach every game tbh (bar absolute green tops, though Somerset proved even they can turn).. Bashir is a decent ish option and hopefully learning at an accelerated rate with the experience he's had..

C’mon
They deserve the chance to complete their hundreds |

both deserve a ton tbf - much as I detest personal landmark obsessions...
|
|
By:
Not being funny but why shouldn’t they get their hundreds.
Then India should declare! |
|
By:
Infact if I were Gill I would get all my team in kit warming up on the boundary!
|
|
By:
I guess Stokes isn’t in the entertainment business anymore!
