Can't see any generosity in the assumed declaration here if it gets to that stage , the test almost a two way result so have India got the fight and resolve to stay at the crease so keep the series alive , probably doubtful but not beyond the realms that Jaiswal and Gill won't bat long , by the time they bat reckon the win will be well gone so it'll be remain , showers and overhead could be a help or hindrance in saving the game you just can't tell.

If England are fortunate enough to have the choice anyone think they'd declare later tonight ??

A lot of if’s for me.

I would assume a lead of around 200 by close.

IF

It is cloudy tomorrow declare. If not bat on.

Much will depend on Jaiswal. If he doesn’t play fluently then India will struggle.

Best chance India have is a little rain delay both mornings otherwise they will have to bat at least 4 sessions for a 200 run lead.

England could bat on to a 300 lead tomorrow. It depends if if remains flat tomorrow and India’s chance of avoiding defeat depend on the pitch. The other thing they must do is score quickly against an attacking field something they have stopped doing.

Half the Indian team look over weight, they need to get the spinners on,still think England will make hard work of getting 10 wickets

They’ve now got 4 players with injuries, lack of fitness the key, once your famous in India,no one’s going to put pressure on you,

Yes

This is stupidity from Gill. Jaceja or Rahul should have had a word and told him to get Bumrah off.

Get the spinners on to see if they can use the harder ball.

About time!

27 overs remaining. Sundar and Jadeja to bowl most then the two trundlers to contribute. Get Bumrah and Siraj off the pitch

Think from the Indian perspective if they took no more wickets today and leaked around 90 runs they'd take that as they're already thinking of how many minutes they'll have to bat to save , if England don't show intent to declare tonight which they shouldn't in my view reckon you'll see the draw price dropping a point come close of play.

Still a lot of time left in this Test. India at sea here. Get Smith and Carse y9 bash it around. Stokes can come back later

Whoever asked

Cramp is a fitness issue. England refused Grahame Smith a runner when he had cramp.

If England bat on tomorrow then India will get an additional roll of the pitch which should help the.

England 1-0 up but Stokes plays to win. Cloud and possibly rain tomorrow morning. Tough calls.if the pitch is good and behaves India can know off the lead in two sessions then look to post a target. Fanciful but everything is on the table right now. I did expect England to be a little gang ho this afternoon to push the game on.

This is shaping up nicely

Not sure a batting collapse would be in India's interest.

They certainly shouldn't have declared tonight in my view and cement the two way result as a priority then take it from there , i know they like the gung ho but keep batting if possible would be the correct strategy for me.

Yes true. The pitch must deteriorate but how much tomorrow?

A lot can happen in 6 sessions. India will need t9 be in it when they bat and for once England bowlers have had their feet up.
By:
Hayden
When: 25 Jul 25 18:20
Can't help but thinking Jaiswal is the key to giving India a realistic chance of saving it but that said what an opportunity for players around him to step up and bat longgggggggggg
By:
Whisperingdeath
When: 25 Jul 25 18:25
Absolutely

Also he is aggressive and India need to knock the runs off to put pressure back on England. Stokes will have his field up and a number if them will have to attack Dawson, which, gives him a chance. India have batted a little conservatively at times.

Could be a really exciting day

I think the rain will b3 early so maybe little or no time lost. That could mean 6 sessions or close to 180 overs.

India will need to bat at least 4 session and that might be a big ask but if they do it potentially brings all 3 results back into play

Does not always translate to stoppage. Most rain falls before play starts. It might drizzle but nothing for certain. Chance of same or nothing on Sunday morning.

for me the turning point in this series , the main point , is rahul wanting his 100 in 3 test , run out and straight after lunch got himself out
