Haha, harsh but if it hits a slip on the head then it's gotta be a chance

You've got Andy Symonds fielding standards!

Smith needs 15 off 11 balls to break the 123 year old record

England sub-4.0 for a moment, gosh.

Bottom falls out of their price with a wicket.

Mind you, takes a brave person to go against the onslaught...

These two are just bullying the Indian attack who seem totally intimidated and clueless. Some of the bowling and tactics are village green standard.
The overall standard of test match bowling has really dipped in recent years, i can only put it down to the dominance of one day cricket.

Can you imagine the great WI attacks of the 70s/80s/90s getting battered like this. Or Lillee/Thomson, McGrath/Warne etc ?

Marshall, Garner, Ambrose and Walsh would be a better quartet than Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna & Nitish Kumar Reddy

Siraj is actually a decent bowler.

Deep, Krishna and Reddy are inexperienced at this level and only have 28 wickets between them coming in to this match.
How on earth have India ended up with an attack like that ?  It's a nonsense resting Bumrah imo, he's the one world class bowler they have ffs !

The pitches were very ropey back in those days too.
The bowling always looks quicker on uneven decks

India longer than England before tea - whoddathunkit

I agree with WD regarding Kuldeep - why on earth isn't he playing if fit ? At least he can add a bit of guile or variety and he has over 50 test wickets. Madness.

Jerry - the pitches in general then were nowhere near as bad as you make out - the Aussie and WI bowlers could get up to 90mph or more, doesn't matter what the pitch is like if they can bowl that fast !

Uncovered pitches could of course cause havoc if it rained years ago but that would favour the likes of Deadly Derek more than the quicks.

Smith & Brook > Jadeja & Gill.

Two hours from parity, right?

Underestimated the time it'd take...

What a bizarre scorecard for England - Brook and Smith scored 342 runs between them whereas the other nine batsmen scored a pathetic total of 46 !

A collapse at the end following the new ball being taken which made the contest between bat and ball a bit fairer. Siraj was a star there, never let his head drop and Deep came back well too. Let's see what the England bowlers can do with the new ball now.

I think I need to equalise my green India and draw. Cannot see England winning this.

India need 400. I imagine they will want 450 so roughly 200 more runs at 4 an over so could declare just before tea, maybe an hour before tea.

Not sure how the betting goes. How it rises and falls on wickets, runs scored and overs bowled
