Two poor wickets from Reddy is ashley a very decent bat was just a poor shot early on in his innings. Bad from pant.
I agree about your views on Atherton and also his view on India's attack. I would have brought as said in the last match Druv Jurel for Sudhardsan and Kuldeep for Shardul. I would have rested Bumrah on this wicket and brought in Arshdeep for variety, swing and running down the track for Kuldeep! England have done very well here. India giving it away again. Conditions are perfect for batting still. |

I think both Reddy and Sundar should be getting runs on this wicket

England still a lay at around evens for me more risky now though in case they run through India but

I do hope this Bashir gets better and better. Another of Stokes better decisions.
I think Pant should properly go after him particularly in the first innings of matches. oooh I think that might have been very very close |
|
By:
indeed
that's is 3 Umpires call |

Interesting discussion about Bashir.
My view was that India do not see Bashir as a threat and will milk him slowly Kumar wants India to go after him. I think they should when the time is opportune but milking him is a good tic tac |

This pitch is so easy paced I am a little surprised the draw is so log. If India do not lose another wicket this evening shirley the draw comes into play and would be my current bet
|

I am glad Archer did not play in this match either. Bumrah and Archer at Lords will be a treat for us all! Would like to see Atkinson too.
|

Get the vet
I cannot be doing with batsmen getting medical treatment on the pitch |
|
By:
You'd think he would want to sleep on a hundred tonight!
If he is sacrificing that so India don't lose wickets then fair play to him and he has risen in stock as a Captain! acceptable cheating within the laws imho |

The boy has some steel. Very controlled innings by Gill. Could still be an extremely important hundred for India.

Think both sides will be happy enough at COP, if it stays this way.

quite a big discrepancy between the books and the exchanges on India's price. 1.8 with most books, 7/5 on here...
|
|
By:
if that's based on oddschecker they've just formatted the mkt wrongly..11/8 on 365 for example.
|
|
By:
ah yes Brent. you are right. I should have known better than to rely on OC'c prices. and they want people to pay to use their service?
|
|
By:
yep, not a great ad for them to say the least..hope you're going well fella..

what a collapse bangladesh chasing 245 to win, cruising 100-1 , inside 4 overs 105-8

India need to ground and pound here otherwise they face two days in the field. Carse and Tongue will probably be rested at Lords. Carse looks sore already. Bumrah back for India.
No need to look at the scoreboard just bat beyond lunch and towards tea if possible. Jaddu running down the pitch already. |
|
By:
England on the drift already. Pitch looks docile
|
|
By:
Stokes looks as fit as a butchers dog.

Great shout there, WD - draw right in the mix |
|
By:
I am 5.6 on the draw but heavier on India at 2.87
Still not sure what will happen. If the pitch remains flat or not. England could smash 400 in a day but I have bet heavily against them winning this match. |
|
By:
Might be some rain too
|
|
By:
This is really looking like a draw
|
|
By:
Yup.
With weakened Indian bowling attack, allied to the current state of this pitch... ...wouldn't be unreasonable to flip the India 2.16 and Draw 2.8 around the other way, right now |

Lumps fly straight in on draw

I still feel it will turn but there may be weather on Sunday.
India have really been allowing Bashir to stay on and not give the game away that he is as yet not good enough to trouble them. I have a feeling at some stage in this series they will go after him. I think pant will be really annoyed at his dismissal and might decide to smash him all over the gaff next chance he gets. |

Bought England the breakthrough

Real shame for Jadeja. 9 short of a deserved hundred and was looking so comfortable.
England can still come back from here but I do not think Gill will make the same mistake he made when trying to hit Bash for 6 to get to 150 which opened the gates for England. |
|
By:
I think India could still bat until tea here and get 500+
|
|
By:
Could be a murky day for England through tomorrow, getting 350 will be hard enough, with any rain breaks nigh impossible. Only 2 results in this game for me.
|
|
By:
Gill's batting loving the added responsibility of captaincy.
Started to work his way towards equalising his obscene ODI average... |
|
By:
Agree with both of you. Just hope Gill does not try to get to 200 with a six! I think this pitch is not going to be easy on day 5. Maybe uneven bounce more than spin.
Virat who? I said before I quite fancy this Indian batting line up as well as England. If anything they have more Talent with the exception of Brook. What's worse is they have a 14yo kid battering the ball to all parts in U19 games. I expected a little bit more frm Siraj and Krishna and disappointed not to see Kuldeep. Arshdeep and Akash are pretty decent too but I want to see what their batting an do against Atkinson, Archer and Carse at Lords although i don't think Carse will play that game. |

India must be kicking themselves after the first test defeat!
Really dumb call from Stokes as was his decision in the first test. This time lessons learnt and India do not look like giving it away. Captain got that message across and leading by example. |
|
By:
Both teams were going to bowl. Bad toss to win, perhaps.
