The wicket is quite dry and it is getting hotter and hotter!
Top up on the fall of Indian wickets I think! |
By:
Without being too presumptuous on how many SA get!
By:
India might struggle too and the pitch looks DRY!
Hold your nerve and top up when the price is right! |
By:
high quality stuff from India - looked all set for a 60 plus deficit not long ago
By:
mind you if Verryene is going to struggle it's a thin tail
By:
SA very long tail, Jansen is not (yet, at least) anything like a seven.

these South Africans are tough! A few years ago it would have been beyond your wildest dreams to imagine tough Afrikaans fast bowlers getting roughed up by an Indian! This has been a brilliant and competitive series. I ashley thought SA might post a lead. We have seen some astonishingly good fast bowling today and this from Bumrah right now is going to be a memory! |

We have seen some astonishingly good fast bowling today
I can guarantee I'd have been walking first ball, whether I was within a yard of nicking it or not |
By:
You cannot keep that Bumrah out of things!
Not sure I would want to have Rabada hit on the head though ![]() |
By:
I loved playing fast bowling but never faced anyone fast enough to scare me tbh
I am not fully sure people who watch this on tv can imagine how frightening this can be specially on a spicy wicket. |
By:
Now...the fun begins.
By:
top up on every wicket in the first 5!
By:
That was 131kph
Rabadabadoo can bowl 147kph Not saying he is easy to face at 131 but a lot easier than 147! Is he carrying? |
By:
Great review!
Looked plum as the Sugar Plum Fairy! Lets see how many Aggarwal gets from here! Wow and 140kph from Rabada after that! I think we got us a ball game now! |
By:

kranking it up baby! |
By:
can't believe that was missing...

Looked out but from the side he did get a good stride in
But it looked out! New hard ball! |
By:
yep, hard ball..good wheels, tall lad ... I guess...
good positivity from India |
By:
Yup, intent is back. Cagey stuff first innings, realise there is always a delivery to get you, make hay.
Sounds blind-ridiculous to say but, exactly as at Centurion - one innings, whoever scores the most before they lose ten wickets, wins. |
By:
Advantage India, for sure - but I wouldn't be in a rush to back
By:
...sub 1.5 just yet
By:
wonder which Puj' we get today...
By:
Market will be lucky not to get sniped by a Rabada no-ball wicket before this innings is out, seems well overdue.
By:
Have a look at the frankly barmy mirroring of the last test:
433 combined runs in first innings here - 431 at Centurion. 11 wickets day one, 11 wickets day two here - 11 wickets day one, 11 wickets day two at Centurion. |

Ffs I just made a cup of coffee and missed that. Not what I needed there!
By:
Shirley nicked tgat
By:
Gloved. Surprised he didn’t walk and surprised Umpire didn’t give that. Sad but that is his last Test Match. Vihari should have been playing in this one and Iyer looks like he will be in the side for years at 5 then 3
By:
Oh my word. The pitch has been rolled. Do I cash out?
By:
Some unplayable deliveries!
New record fir catches in three match series which is testament to some fine bowling and Nortje is injured! |
By:
nice quiet start to the day..

brut of a ball for Rahane seeing it again..
By:
what's an even game here - lead of 180-190 ?
By:
Only two batsmen have survived nine overs-worth in the match.
Need to chance their arms (which Pant/Ashwin/Thakur/Shami will do) and get somewhere around 200 lead. 150 could be all they need, mind. |
By:
Excelled myself this morning - missed Puj, sat down to the Rahane delivery and burned fully 1/4 of my first two day's green in two minutes.
Got myself on the wrong side of both ladders, in a mad panic! Gallingly...after calling that it was out, positioning myself as such then cutting and running, then compounding. |
By:
200 hundred lead
![]() I would take that now! Surprised he didn’t have a silly point before. I think th3 smart money should be on SA. I really ought to take my money back here! Trouble is I like a gamble! |
By:
Needless to say, I've sat on hands for ten minutes.
By:
Sorry to hear that
This really can go either way. Maybe the pitch will flatten out. Maybe maybe maybe What am I doing here. What is the ball doing! |
