Yeah he is growing up quick!
SA have really turned this series round and maybe Pujara and Rahane are a series too far with Iyer and Vihari looking better options right now. I am really starting to like the shape of this SA team. Oh how they could do with a spinner though! |

Sterling batting effort, with healthy amount of good fortune.
Two wickets in first half hour tomorrow now essential. Verreynne six, Jansen seven, Rabada eight...this isn't over just yet. |

Elgar confidently suggesting it was off his leg...there is nothing a batsman won't try to influence a decision...

They have to give that!
Can you imagine if the third umpire said not out! |

Wicket sets us up beautifully.
Now just have to decide whether to get up at 3:45am ![]() |

India seem dead in the water.

very sharp line post the initial scrape..not really overturnable

They're not running rampant like in Hobart but certainly need a wicket imminently

I'm with you, either way the onfield stands with that one - shame, for the match, that it went for VDD |

Had just been typing that India have tried to control the scoring by not bowling too straight...
...but in doing so, batters have been able to leave a barrel-load of deliveries this morning. |
|
By:
Understandable but I think they needed to roll the dice a touch more.
They've had the field set right but they've bowled at a third set of stumps |
|
By:
Shows how close they are though...hold that catch and we're still only one batter away from Verreynne

Petersen had a bit of luck but seems to have a great temperament as well as looking classy in his stroke play..looks like he's been in the international game ten years...

Noooooooooooo, dolly
Followed by a glut of runs in next ten minutes. Petersen playing a blinder. |
|
By:
Yup, seems to put it straight out of his mind, repeats and middles it the next time. Happened often.

Brilliant series.
All credit to SA for escaping from not one, but two, very tough fourth innings chases. |
|
By:
certainly going to give us a game this summer...

By:
by the way apt' - 10 wickets fell yesterday and SA pi$$ed it...you should have enough for a 2nd house !

that's true maybe would have been an extension rather than a house...

Two runs difference between combined first innings across the matches (433 v 431).
And IDENTICAL wickets per day... 2nd Test: 11, 11, 10, 1 3rd Test: 11, 11, 10, 1 |

remarkable stuff for sure.

Must be the season for weird anomalies...
In November, in simultaneous Tests between India & NZ and Bangladesh & Pakistan, the same batter top-scored in both innings, for all four sides. Shreyas Iyer, Tom Latham, Liton Das and Azhar Ali. |

Pant doing Pant again in the second ODI.
Makes it look so easy at times. |
