Ooh we have England at 30s.
If we declare does the price contract a little more? |
By:
The days of England getting pasted by the Aussies 5-0 are well and truly over
How many years ago did Goochy come out with his classic statement ? |
By:
strange strategy from England. Best they will get from this is a draw yet they came out fighting for the win? Seems bizarre. Should be taking time out of the game not speeding another potential loss along.
I think they need a more intelligent strategist among everything else. |
By:
they have halved from 46 to 22 explain that
By:
don't think the tail fancied facing the new ball too much against Starc and Cummins - been a few nasty lifters...make a few runs while you can but didn't really come off..
By:
it's Friday night in England FF ... bit of a patriotic punt maybe ...must admit surprised it shortened quite that much but suits ok...
By:
For what its worth - I completely agreed with the strategy and I'd go as far as to say I would have declared at 9 down if I were Root.
Confuses and perhaps taunts Cummins into an ill advised make a game of it declaration? Shows I'm not the dull captain that everyone thinks I am Gives England the best chance of a win rather than playing for a draw (check the market) Saves Jimmy going through any hostile stuff |
By:
weather is a bit better probably than might have been anticipated as well..tomorrow still quite a lot of threat though...
By:
Unfortunately I suspect we now have a few hours of largely irrelevant cricket.
By:
not sure how winviz accounts for weather which it's clearly doing - depends which forecast they are feeding in to the modelling as to the number you get out..
By:
winviz 60 % Draw Aus 37 % Eng 3 %
By:
makes it virtually meaningless in any significantly rain potential test - though it seems to throw up some bizarre stuff even in dry games..
By:
Looking at those number sit may just be looking at the market. Or vice versa.
By:
they base on previous games don't they ? historical database and all that I thought but have never seen a transparent explanation of what it does or doesn't account for..
ohh wicket |

always some interesting stuff on their twitter though.. |
By:
surely england chance of winning is 0%
By:
is that based on Eng being a bit s*** or just that you don't think oz will set anything even remotely chaseable ?
By:
Australia chance of winning is over 50%, they make 200 and declare, england will wilt again
By:
if it stays clear yep...if the thunderstorms turn up they might have to defend a bit less than you typically would though...
By:
*if they want to give themselves the best chance of winning
By:
thunderstorms building to the west of sydney...no guarantee we get them but could add to interest...another wicket as well..Woody been good this series
By:
ageers needs to use the wider range radar imo...
By:
when is the rain coming
By:
who knows ?
it's not a solid rain band just some building sporadic heavy showers/thunderstorms...could miss them all or lose a session |

Leach

By:
It favours Australia this though, we won’t chase 300 on a day 5 pitch and the Aussies will be steaming after yesterday where we were slightly lucky with the dropped catches
By:
I suspect you're right sonts but the Eng price graph has been a good rollercoaster..
By:
going be a bit more for Lyon 2nd dig judging by Leach's effort so far..
By:
They’ll declare giving us 15 overs to survive tonight
Chasing 350 |
By:
We will be 2 down at close my prediction
How’s the weather tomorrow? |
By:
Isha fancies Broad
![]() She never stops yapping about him bless her Must be the karate kid headband |
By:
yep, increasingly looking like it could be a very nasty little sesh as at the MCG...crowd are suitably beered up and will be pretty lively ..Starc and Cummins knowing they can give it the full go in a short session..
By:
bt binned the oz comm...though to be fair they were doing my nut in...tough listen when things are going well for them..
By:
lot of potential weather stuff has missed to the south..
By:
turns out Surrey have got England's two best keepers ...
By:
Green only 22...worrying high potential..had a good series with the ball and showing some of his batting talent here as well..
By:
a bit of absolute weather carnage south of sydney....don't think we get the edge of it...
By:
last update looks as though it could hit before close...marginal

highest opening partnership of the series for Eng (credit Andy Zaltzman tms)

358 to win in a potential 98 overs...another guessers weather forecast for day 5...
