We’re sh!t under this regime, the media havent called Root or Silverwoods positions into question either and this is without doubt the worst year/18 month period in our cricketing history, ever since Root was made captain and Silverwood was hired its slowly turned into a train wreck

Malan bowling is pathetic

Stokes bowling bouncers only

Leach bowling with deep mid off and mid ons

Its being on purpose I think sometimes its that bad

We have been very poor for a good few years now you only have to look at the top 6 batting line up and the only position nailed down is Root as all the other positions for the last few years have been chopping and changing on a regular basis as we cannot find any test level quality batsmen to nail down a position and if you look at the batting averages bar Root of the top 6 then they are woefully inadequate set against the benchmark of 40 for a good test level batsmen, the future doesn't look great.

until more value is put back in to the county championship we aren't going to produce quality long form batsmen or indeed quality spinners barring extreme talents...

whether we want to do that of course is a debate in itself

Get rid of the 100. A sad creation and stick with the blast only. Knock the single day comp in the head too,

If they would take more championship games around the counties they would get far more watching it. Old Trafford would not

like it in Lancashire, but sod em. Blackpool, Southport, Liverpool, Colwyn bay always filled and would do so again. Lancaster, Fleetwood and a few others

are capable hosts too.

As for this Test match, Aussie at 6/4 now is a great bet.

Out grounds definitely could be made more use of though clubs are usually under pressure from members..

Uxbridge used to get great crowds for Championship games but a lot of the Middx members hated it, whether the same demand would exist now is questionable..

I think we still have to have a credible 50 over or similar while there is an ICC World Cup...that format has in itself been marginalised recently...just no room to have two domestic ulta short form comps unless we want to bin long form entirely ..the hard won validity of the domestic 20/20 has suffered as a result of accommodating the hundred as well..
