Just what we need…a ‘Moeen masterclass on how to spin the ball’
Anyone know how to hold a bat? |
By:
Ive watched a session gone to bed wake up to check on it end of play
I cant see any tv company wanting to pay for a series in Australia 5-0 5-0 4-0 and this one probably 5-0 as well Its just a beating every time with us getting massacred, we dont even win the odd session its embarrassing |
By:
These masterclasses always made me laugh
Sky been doing it for years and our national side still useless The questions by the guy sat pretending to care… ‘What’s that red thing in your hand’ |
By:
think moeen has covid there
By:
Has anyone every seen Moeen laugh…or even hold a smile?
Ffs the guy should be an accountant |
By:
The question is can this lot hold out for these two sessions without losing 16 wickets?

64 and going balls since a run was scored... thats... ridiculous

Stokes seems to make a habit of these starts these days...some sympathy here but would be useful to rotate strike a bit..all or nothing ... 5555555

well played England, lead them into a false sense of security thinking your mince, then counter attack
By:
thick edge from offstump... just as well we're getting the breaks today.... |
By:
England actually playing some cricket for the first time in the series and the injured Stokes is leading the way. Didn't see this coming.
By:
a bit of fortune along the way but some decent batting as well...could easily have been carnage
By:
Stokes is our true captain
By:
normal service resumed...have to think it's time to move on from Butler...at least have a couple of options for wk
By:
oz might have some interesting dec considerations if Bairstow can get passed the follow on..
By:
if this was a tight series would be a great passage of play...but as it's not..it's not...still interesting though.
By:
most of the comms dismissing the possibility of follow on enforcement but with this forecast not so sure it wasn't a runner...these two taken it out of their hands anyway.

lead down to 158...

Cant fault Bairstow after that
Could have saved us from a whitewash him and Stokes |
By:
Has anyone every seen Moeen laugh…or even hold a smile? Ffs the guy should be an accountant I’ve seen him play Test Cricket. He should be in the side! Have you seen our spinner and our batsmen in this match an the series? |
By:
Bairstow should have always had the nod over Pope and Butler (I would still prefare Foukes). He has never really had the rub of it under Root.
I an not a fan of Sibley but he would have been a better option for us downunder. What odds a Cook comeback? |
By:
Its obviously a very, very long shot but aren't England very good value here?
If ever a game was set up for a slightly generous declaration / If ever a few in the England line up might want to make a name playing a few shots trying to chase down a score. Overs lost on Day 4 might even assist that type of finish rather than make it less likely. |
By:
yep, mentioned in sa thread potential for aggressive and weather related aggressive decs..Eng nearly folded so badly as to take them out of the equation but not impossible now...
also if they have some favourable bowling conditions and oz get too aggressive batting could be a small window of opportunity...for context though was around 70 at the end of play and around 100-120 when Butler was out, now 46 on a reasonable looking radar and satellite I presume..forecast still iffy but as you say that needn't play against it... |
By:
Yep. Easy to see a situation where this time tomorrow people are saying that three results are still possible albeit with one easily the least likely.
By:
Pope to keep wicket for England in 2nd inns with both Bairstow and Butler carrying injuries..
By:
I may be trying to convince myself / I may be in part ramping but I think that slightly adds to the possibility that England are value.
This is your last ever Test innings Jos... Fancy having a go? |
By:
Stokes and Bairstow (Wood) certainly were very positive yesterday later in their inns - a lot depends on how much oz want the win or whether they just take the view you can't do anything about the weather that transpires...with the added proviso that it's not impossible on here we could bowl them out cheaply...so long as Pope or Billings if he arrives in time hang on to the nicks

Get out, let them make their 200/5 and then chase down the 4 an over target. Simples.
