Just back from physio (all okay, thanks for asking) so out of synch with what's happening. Just looked at where market is and intinct says lay draw at 2.72. Views?

Looking at these prices it feels like the market has pretty much priced in no play tomorrow

He's been called for two no balls, likely that he's bowled many more.

2 that have been called, probably both wkt balls

i'm not having a pop at Woakes per se,he's obviously one of the lesser culprits but y'all know i'm righteous in what i sayWink

alternatively, one could always slow down, take a knee and then release the ball but companies making radar guns would soon be out of business, innit!Grin

Would actually help bowlers if they were to be called for all their no balls, not just the wicket balls.
They'd quickly sort it out.

Jason Holder has now passed 2,000 runs in Test crickets. He's only the fourth West Indian to bat at seven or lower to reach that mark - the other three were all keepers - Jeffrey Dujon, Ridley Jacobs and Dinesh Ramdin.

Lol, I was going to say that.  Woakes is an absolutely prime example of a guy who's totally professional about his run up and action.  It's a bit like the notion that if batsmen aren't ever getting run out they aren't pushing it enough. Same with line calls on no balls.  You can get basically none if you always leave a huge margin for error but then you're bowling from a bit further away each time and the batsmen have more time.  Yes, it might seem an infinitessimal advantage but it will add up over a career.

Hell of a player. I didn't rate his bowling when I first saw him as he didn't have a lot of pace and didn't quite seem to get the advantage you'd expect out of his height but turns out he's bloody good there too, just not in the way you'd expect a huge man to be, as he relies more on skill, swing and accuracy than pace and bounce.

Had been frigging about with some micro trades and hadn't had my lay at 3 taken there so could have done without the wicket but taken on some more draw now and will see what happens. Without the follow on have to think there will be at least some margin in further draw trading.

Lol, hadn't even put the lay in at 3 as far as I can see now!

Still, one of my better recent tests this, even if England train it.  Will suit them to bat really hard and be bowled out.

Broad is too good for Roach.

Don't think that degree of draw move makes sense so risking a decent slice of my green by buying more draw at 4.3.

Very much hoping Dowrich can marshall Gabriel for at least a few overs. Is a big ask!

I guess you can't criticise Roach too much for being a bad batsman when he's at 10 but really shouldn't be swinging with a set guy at the other end. Of course Gabriel then has a huge heave off the last ball of the over, because he's even more terrible.

The thing that pisses me off about tailenders like these, is that of course you can't blame them for not having a great eye or amazing technique but the mentality and approach really should be better than oh I'll have a happy heave despite being bloody awful at lining the ball up.

Tomtimtum went for the rope on the final ball when a single would have got his team home. He understands the mentality of the tail ender well.

Anyway, got rid of some of the last couple of backs of the draw already, which is nice.

Thing about games like this is you end up regretting taking draw prices to get rid of your red at levels that always felt too low.  I took chunks between 2.42 and 3s yesterday when I really felt it had high potential to be a 12+ wicket day.  Can't be too harsh on yourself in retrospect though.  If we'd had a shower and WI had started solidly I'd have been kicking myself for not taking some of my losses off when I had the chance.  I was over 10k red at close of day 1 for 7k result green so was a bit queasy about things.
