I think they'll want a 400 lead, but will settle for 350+

tom they don't want all the wickets. But Aussies will slow down and play defensive. We want to keep them on 6/7 down till tomorrow morning

i guess if the wickets force Aus into a fear of losing the match and into defensive mode, wickets help in that regard

if headingley hadn't just happened, nobody would be fearing losing from the position they are in

Wickets while Aus are under 100 are good, once they get to around 150, we should bowl to slow the run rate and not for wickets

wickets shortening the aus price & therefore lengthening eng's chances of winning the series (the ultimate goal)

few people seem to be able to grasp the big picture, which is worrying

If wickets helped Aus win then they'd just declare now, its moronic to think otherwise. lol, a certain person can't seem to grasp that Aus losing wickets doesn't shorten their odds Whoops

realistically assuming bad light later only around 45 overs left today. touch and go whether they'll be enough in front to have a bowl at england tonight

Exactly, wickets slows the run rate, which means the chances of Aussies having to bat into tomorrow increases. This brings the thai down. Its simple.

It also increases the chance of Aus being bowled out and takes the declaration out of the equation, it isn't clear cut

Don't usually post on here, however the draw price is all wrong. Basically, ones calculation should be based on odds of Eng to survive one day (tomorrow). I price it as 2.5

If wickets only help Aussie, why are England trying to get them and why are Aussies trying to stop us bowling them out? Its really that simple.

they have to get bowled out well below 150 for it to make much of a difference. needs a very low score for england to facing much more than 100 overs almost whatever happens
