Aus are awful T3.

Take Smiff out of their side and they are as bad or worse than us. Labuschagne was an unfortunate mistake for us.

We are doomed, doomed I say. Do you really think Curran would make this side worse?

we are very lucky that the Aussies didnt play Starc from the start as this series would be over

Starc is their best bowler in my opinion

Of course if you take Smith out their batting is very weak but this series he's been the equivalent of 3 batsman by himself!
Their opening bowlers have been superb and as good as anything they've every brought over.
They aren't a great Aus team but they're far from awful.

Bairstow is the England Crickets golden boy though. Hes been bred for a central contract, they aren’t gonna give up on their little pet project

We've been awful but probably still have a chance of drawing the series

With 2 big changes we'd have won this series in my opinion

We've shot ourselves in the foot all series, culminating in us dropping woakes for overton

I guess England need to avoid the follow on to start with. I just cannot see them batting deep into this afternoon session. Aus will be able to set a target. Yes they will probably want in excess of 350 but should try and force a win. A draw here would be akin to a disaster for them. Anything can happen at the Oval and if England win a good toss Aus will rue not retaining the Ashes here.

Why have we not played Curran ?

Aus not going to set an easily achievable target after what happened at headingley

I would say why aren't we playing Woakes here

His ok batting is needed with our c*ap one dayers not scoring

Australia have a decent bowling attack and Smith, they are not a great team by any stretch
By:

I would have to say we need to go absolutely defensive bowling wise, bowling on 5th stump and setting very defensive fields

And time waste as well, make sure they can't score freely

Go Ballistic - Is there any chance we can get better audio from the stump mics?

Was trying to pick up the whole convo, what were they saying? Archers afraid to come out to bat?

Jos is effectively stranded thanks to the decision to send in Overton at 3.

Has little choice but to tee off and hope for the best.

Wade was questioning Jofra's loyalty to the West Indies I think.

Heard him say something like "Can't say that or it'll be all over the papers"
By:

Does no one else think we should have sent Leach out before Archer? Archer is a better batsman for sure but more of a hitter, we need someone who can just block and not get out, Leach surely best man for the job?
Also against Ireland or not, imagine scoring 90 odd this year and still batting lower than Broad. His batting days are far behind him

Yeah if they said something like loyalty to the WI or gone a little further the media would crucify them Crazy

They'd be forced out the team by the little worms in the media

Australia attempting to sledge Archer about moving Big Bash teams. "Very loyal," say Matthew Wade, one of the great comedians of our time.

The bit you could hear clearly was "very loyal!" followed by "if we talk about stuff like that, like what Jofra's doing, then he can't go to the media, otherwise they'd have to print that ... just say stuff that he doesn't want to come out and we should be fine"

“He didn’t turn up until after the warm up in one of the BBL games.” I’m not sure how Archer is coping with this level of abuse
