Combination of Latham batting and Mathews bowling (3.2-2-1-0 so far) really ought to see the draw contract.

Made the key transition from above 10s to 10s visible. Got rid of most of what had swelled to £2k red. Still got a lot of draw green though. I could be in for a decent win if we see a really low draw price later on.

Finally gone, while posting this. All my lays at 10 just went and draw now in the 9s.

Not much love for this game on the forum or on the exchange.  I'm providing the draw volume to lay and back at the moment. Currently got myself 900 quid red on results, for comedy draw green of 32k.  I know the Lankans aren't great with the bat but 17.5-18 feels very long to me for a flat deck.

lanka will need to bat 3 sessions for you to have a decent chance of a win

There is a chance of a draw with that rain forecast on Wednesday....

haha. They'll have some overs at them late today, and that usually gets wickets. It will also be cloudy tomorrow, which will help the bowlers

I think the Kiwis win easily the large part of the time here but the nice thing about really comedy greens is you don't need the green outcome to come in to make a profit overall.  I do think it's flat enough to take a chance on leaving my green there in the main though.

Market very unbothered indeed about this morning.  I don't mind the prices not moving, indeed that can be helpful but nobody is having a bet to speak of at all. So I'm probably relying a lot on the Sri Lankans at the least starting well, presumably this evening. If the forecast for day 5 remains dodgy though, once the draw goes, it could go fast and a long way.

NZ tab have draw at 10s !! Metservice have Wednesday morning with 15mm of rain so maybe a decent chance only if lanka can bat 3 sessions

The thing is though, I am also contemplating the 17, but can SL bat after having fielded for 2 days. That is always a hard ask. Never underestimate the fatigue factor. It really does play a role. But if Wed is compromised then it could be a nice bet.

SL have to survive tonight for our payout. If they lose a couple early, its game over. Id back them to play well but dont know if they can open well.

That is assuming NZ send them in tonight. If i were Kane, I would be tempted to bat all day today (if possible) and another half hour tomorrow morning.

Cannot see SL batting this out though. That said the Basin is where NZ drew with India after being 5 down for bugger all and then McCullum came in and scored 300.

I would bat and get as many runs as possible. If you declare 280 ahead or thereabouts then you might have to bat again. Might as well declare 350-400 ahead and really put the foot on.

They did, batting first, after being put in by NZ

This wicket does not deteriorate if that is what you are wondering. It will still bat well on day 5. So that 17 is some value if you believe SL have the mental fortitude to fight.

is KW the kind of captain who would declare early to compensate for the weather? or just play for a 5 day game and leave the weather to nature?

I have no idea. The weather should be ok on Wednesday. Use the actual forecast. Not the computer generated mm in precipitation which is a gamble at best. They say rain later in the day/evening. That is at this stage the best bet.

Kane was aggressive in Pakistan, but they had to be. Not sure what he will do here. IN the past he has been more conservative than McCullum but it is early days. He may become more aggressive with time. His batting was aggressive enough for me.

Forget the NZ Tab. Check out their overround. What are they offering on NZ? 1.10?

Cloud increasing. A few showers, turning to rain in the afternoon, possibly heavy. Northerly changing southerly early afternoon. That is the forecast for Wednesday. Looks like at least 60 overs in at this stage. The 17 still looking half tempting with this pitch.
